Just watched this for the first time, even though it’s 4 years old. Ingots tell you how proud I am to see another local sharing their passion for fishing with everyone and sharing the honey spots. Seriously, those haters can just lump it. It’s about friends and families sharing their fishing stories and there’s no better way than sharing what we know so they can hook up on some big ones! Oh, and thanks for all those tutorials. I’m in Great Bridge and live right off of Deepwater Rd. And put my kayak in right on the Elizabeth River, so you’ve really helped me learn techniques for my plastics and Mirolures.
good info, but novice kayakers should not attempt to go too far out at the bridge tunnel, especially the 1st island. the currents out there are sometimes like white water rapids and pair that with any wind over 6 to 8 mph and you can have extrwmely dangerous conditions. us local kayakers recommend at least a full season of fishing the inlets and other spots before attempting the CBBT. if you do go, take a buddy and wear your pfd always
Im a new kayaker in the area and ive been sticking to the lynhavenn and rudee inlets for saltwater. The CBBT still intimidates me and used to ride bikes @ 170 mph lol. Even with a $1700 kayak im gonna keep the CBBT as my "next-step" in kayaking and will make sure im at least somewhat experienced before going out there, I hate being that noob guy at anything. Thanks for the tip
Being a Hampton native it's not really a big deal to tell fishing spots but it definitely will strike some nerves because fishermen are so stingy and scared of sharing
I’m laying in bed in my hotel room and came upon your video that answered all the questions I had about fishing this area. Came down here from Long Island to take my son to his new job with military sealift command and thought I would do a little fishing. Now I can put the phone down and go to sleep. Awesome
thank you for making this vid, I am from the upper chesapeake bay area in MD and am coming down this weekend to target some puppy drum and sheepshead. hope to run into you there, if you're still in that area.
awesome! thanks so much. i used to fish lynnhaven fishing pier before they closed. it's nice to be pointed in the right direction. i go down to va beach a lot in the summer to visit family. i appreciate you guys!
Wow!!!!! Just found this video. Such good info for us "out of towners". We can figure it out but these basic "where too fish" tips are a great help. We promise to not catch all the fish, ha. Thanks a million
I really appreciate your vids you guys! I have been an avid outdoorsman for my entire life & love the outdoors as I see y’all do to which is fantastic because last year I had a car wreck that left me in a wheel chair for the rest of my life. Your videos have been great- they remind me of the great times I have had. I’m not staying down forever & you guys are helping me want to get back in a boat or modified fishing kayak again. Thanks you guys!
Man this is one of the best comments we have ever received. Thank you for this. Please keep us updated if you ever get out there and if you ever want to try and get a land based fishing experience in let us know!!
TINY but important correction on the spot he says is the most popular. Thats the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-TUNNEL (CBBT), not the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (CBB). The CBB is like 150 miles away in Maryland. Could make for much different GPS routing...
Thanks for this info. Planning a trip in the winter months to see my son and want to go fishing while I am there..this is very helpful....Keep the vids coming...
New subscriber here from NYC! Talk about perfect timing. We will be there next week to camp in Cherrystone Campground. I have been doing research on where to fish and you guys just helped me out alot! Thank you for the very informative video! Hoping to catch fish by the campground as well.
Really awesome video guys! Fam and I are headed down week of April 18 for the first time. Any suggestions for this time of year? Can sharks be caught at this time? Stripers? I’m from Jersey so I surf fish a lot.
Thanks for posting this video, brother! I live in Baltimore, but I've been visiting VB a lot the last several years. Thanks for giving me a bunch of places to try my luck beside simply fishing at the Virginia Beach Pier all the time!
Nice broad topic, know exactly where you are coming from. Anglers should know you can catch coolers full of “small” spadefish on the sandbridge pier, but ya got to know how. Also recommend inexperienced angler not try to paddle out to 1st island in a kayak, the weather can turn and one should know how to handle the rough water. The current in lynnhaven inlet at the bridge can flip a kayak very easy, it is so strong. Keep up the good fishing vids!
Great job guys, lived in VA. most of my life never fished down towards VA. Beach, this was a great information video, don't worry about haters keep doing a great job of letting us know the best places to fish in VA. Please in the "SHOW MORE" section put addresses or locations or links to google maps of locations to fish, again great job.
I am a local and I want to take my kids out and teach them to fish and crab but everywhere I went as a kid is built up. It is hard to find a spot that isn't crowded.
Good Info my family is from the beach area and ive only ever gone to the pier me and my friend are going to try out some of those spots he wants to catch sheeps and drums so thatxwill ve good
For on the boat, cobia and stripper, head to 'trestle C' at outgoing tide when the water is 50degree and lattimer shoals right on the 30ft drop off line and drop cut bunker with a chum bag. :)
Dewey Cash love your videos also one of my favorites was your Epic fishing trip and Rudy where are you guys how to do jump on your boat to catch his fish
Well this is pretty convenient considering I am a local but only just got into saltwater fishing. Definitely going to check these out, thanks! Any recommendations on tackle etc.?
Thanks for the info, I fished ocean view a few times this summer, caught some blue fish and sting rays, Would you say fishing in these spots is good enough to go this time of year in the fall and december? It's a little cold but if the fishing is still good I'd still be willing to go.
Hey guys great video I'm going down Virginia Beach September 10th 11th to 12th no boat I just wanted to know at the Virginia Beach Bay bridge tunnel where you were standing is there parking there so I can take my wagon out and do some surf fishing at the bridge I'd appreciate it you guys have a great summer will fall is coming up but you have a great fall too thanks for the info
great video you guys. quick question about licensing. I live in Richmond but I'm always super nervous about just throwing the rod in to catch some fish when I visit the beach area. I've always heard horror stories about being fined for fishing without the proper licensing. What's needed in your area to keep things on the up and up. thanks!
All VA residents just need a saltwater license to fish anywhere in the ocean around Virginia Beach. If you go to a pier, you don't need a license at all.
Dang I just found out that that pier is closed by you 😞 thanks for the head up. Had some fun on that pier. Anyway excellent video guys!!!! ❤️🎣 tight lines.
Hey Jeff where is parking for the 2 spots you and Kristi mentioned beach fishing at lynnhaven and CBBT? Thanks in Advance, We will be coming from Richmond! Also My kids love your channel and they said to ask you to go fishing with us some day
Thank you! I'm new to the area and getting a fresh start to fishing after 25 years. Do you have any recommendations for a starter rod/ real and weight of line? I used to trout fish with a 1 pound line.
@1Fish2Fish you said you can’t fish the jetty but does that include the beach to the left of the jetty. Gonna be staying at the schooner inn by grommet park in June.
I know on the pier you just buy a license for the pier or a pass, but if anyone can tell me what Virginia licenseing requirements are for surf fishing or Rudee Inlet can you please let me know thank you
Thanks for the video, our family is coming down later this week and staying at the KOA. I want to take my 11 year old daughter out who loves fishing so where would be the best and safest place to take her. Thanks again.
Emergency! Here in va beach for first time and fishing at lynnhaven inlet for bday weekend trip (no kayak or boat, so surf/land fishing) Spots here are limitedz and not seeint any fish. Really want a drum to take home. Any recommendations on spots can go for drum? Thanks!!!
Hey everyone, going to be in the VA beach area for the next 5 months and am trying to get more info on fishing this area. A friend and I attempted to fish rudee inlet last month and had zero success as expected but considering season rolling around next month I'd like to be better prepared and equipped to catch some ocean fish/sharks. I prefer to fish for only fish that I would be allowed to keep so any information on that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and hope to catch some megalodons next month.
VERY GENERAL INFORMATION, LITTLE CREEK JETTY. Has the least crowded fishing and parking, no details youdo your homework. Rudee, the truth is only 12 to 15 parking spots for kayaks, it you park in trailer spots you may get a ticket. Got several slams this week at little creek this week. The lynnhaven inlet has great fishing if you know where to go, the problem is there are 10,000 people that live on the inlet and keep a boat in there back yard. They will run 70mph outside nowake zones, so kayaks beware. Have a great tournament!
Hey thanks for the info new sub will be going to first landing state park to camp for a day or two an will be fishing from beach there an maybe pier would like to get a shark or any other big fish
If you go to Buckroe don’t use braid you will have your line cut by locals been there once and it happened to me I’m an ocean view local and won’t go back to Buckroe
Because when you have a fish run and you line slides across floro or mono it can cut it which I understand their frustration about it especially when you have an 8 and bait rigs tend get expensive if you lose them and I’d prefer not to have my line cut and lose my rigs lol
you have to park on the streets in the neighborhood. check for no parking signs closely. on the weekends, it gets busy, you may have to circle the block a couple times unless yoy go really early
Randy is right. Parking can be the issue but actually instead of parking near Buoy 44 and HK on the Bay there is parking in the neighborhood on the other side of the tunnel. Hard to explain, but if you look on google maps you can see it. You are essentially parking on the West Side of the bridge, right under the bridge in the neighborhood.
Great parking at the north end of the bridge at the boat ramp. From the ramp side of the parking area you can walk under the bridge and get to the beach on the Chesapeake bay. Also get to the bridge piers and fish off of them. Great fishing off the bridge piers.
I’m in Norfolk for a month for work. Everywhere I’ve tried to go fishing there are signs everywhere saying “no fishing or crabbing”. I’ve never seen a place so unfriendly to fisherman. What gives, Virginia?
People trash places. Prime example is airport Dr chickahominy River access in Richmond. Used to be a hidden gem....then Henrico county made it a public park......only took 6 months to get trashed and fished out. No more turtles, fish, birds etc. People are great

Thanks for pointing out basic fishing locations for us outsiders to go and catch some fish. Y'all are great. Keep up the great work. Tight lines.

@@tooshmart6669 you're smart to take it easy bro. I have been out there in my boat many times and I have seen it get really bad really quickly.
Being a Hampton native it's not really a big deal to tell fishing spots but it definitely will strike some nerves because fishermen are so stingy and scared of sharing
@tom young exactly and alot of locals hate it when they have competition
What pisses me off is most fish are migratory so their not even guaranteed to be in the same “secret” spot lol
I’m laying in bed in my hotel room and came upon your video that answered all the questions I had about fishing this area. Came down here from Long Island to take my son to his new job with military sealift command and thought I would do a little fishing. Now I can put the phone down and go to sleep. Awesome
I’m from Amherst Virginia about 3hr 36mins away and this is on my bucket list. Thanks for the info!
thank you for making this vid, I am from the upper chesapeake bay area in MD and am coming down this weekend to target some puppy drum and sheepshead. hope to run into you there, if you're still in that area.
Have a family trip there this weekend. Great info thank you for the video.
As a Virginia Beach native, thanks for this video. I’m new to fishing
awesome! thanks so much. i used to fish lynnhaven fishing pier before they closed. it's nice to be pointed in the right direction. i go down to va beach a lot in the summer to visit family. i appreciate you guys!
up the block from Lynnhaven is Oceanview Pier. Very good spot to go to. cheers!

The CBB is like 150 miles away in Maryland. Could make for much different GPS routing...
Fished Rudee Inlet this morning and caught a 17 inch flounder and a couple small Croaker.
That is some good eating: Croaker is underrated.
Croaker was the first fish I’ve ever caught
Love your channel. Congrats to you and your wife on your new baby. This info is very helpful can't wait to try these spots in Virginia Beach.
New angler here, been looking for spots to fish in VABeach... this was great info, thank you so much for doing this video... You guys are awesome!

Thanks for posting this video, brother! I live in Baltimore, but I've been visiting VB a lot the last several years. Thanks for giving me a bunch of places to try my luck beside simply fishing at the Virginia Beach Pier all the time!

With the internet and fishing apps. There no longer is a thing called a "secret stop".
Can you do a video on lakes and rivers in inland virginia? I’m from Richmond, my favorite spots are Wilde Lake and the James
Swift creek res in midlothian
Nicholas Sabella ayy wassup. The reservoir has some good bass

Coming down from ontario for the week. Thanks for the tips.
Great video be down there tomorrow from Richmond
Very informative!
I tried to fish the spot near the Chesapeake Bridge but J couldn't find public parking. Where is the public parking in the area? lol
So you can't surf fish in Grommet Park or you just can't get on the jetties? Little confused...
Where do you go for bluefish. VB PIER IS PACKED
I’m bringing the boat down tomorrow and fishing rudee any advice?
Nice intro!

I am staying at four point sheraton hotel, can i walk out and beach fish there? Is beach fishing allowed? Thanks
Hey thanks for the info new sub will be going to first landing state park to camp for a day or two an will be fishing from beach there an maybe pier would like to get a shark or any other big fish
How is the fishing in front of Westminster - Canterbury and out at Fort Story (bay and oceanfront)?
If you go to Buckroe don’t use braid you will have your line cut by locals been there once and it happened to me I’m an ocean view local and won’t go back to Buckroe
I've heard they're a rough crowd, any clue why they do that?

Do you know any good crabbing spots ?
What beach were you at by the Chesapeake Bay Bridge
Great video....thanks
I would like information on lesner bridge to pier and chx
Buckroe used to be good back in the day. Haven't been in years, but I've heard it kinda sucks now.
Where is the parking at near the bay bridge for the beach fishing?
Dustin Lowery I need this answer too
you have to park on the streets in the neighborhood. check for no parking signs closely. on the weekends, it gets busy, you may have to circle the block a couple times unless yoy go really early
Randy is right. Parking can be the issue but actually instead of parking near Buoy 44 and HK on the Bay there is parking in the neighborhood on the other side of the tunnel. Any tips for targeting sheeps at Rudee?
Thanks y'all , I've been waiting a lot of years to find out where to fish here in Hampton Roads ! I'm from around Gulf Shores Ala. and Pensacola Fla.
Thomas Huskey hey man I am also from Pensacola and now live in Newport News. Have you figured out the fishing?
Are there any beach restrictions at Chicks Beach?
Cool!! Thanks!!👍🙂
Great man...tks
Where's the best spots in December I'm from gloucester but moved to Wisconsin like 13 years ago
Is cast net fishing allowed? We saw some people doing it
I wouldn’t call them haters just very protective! Lol
I'm coming up this coming weekend from South Carolina thanks so much for the info.
Is there any parking near the Lesner Bridge?
Great parking at the north end of the bridge at the boat ramp. From the ramp side of the parking area you can walk under the bridge and get to the beach on the Chesapeake bay. Also get to the bridge piers and fish off of them. Great fishing off the bridge piers.
Can you wade the Lynhaven Inlet / waterway? Thx
Where can I buy live shrimp from....I live in Virginia...fish at va Beach
Is that rudee inlet I go there all the time I’m going there today
great vid and very informative; hope to go there one day,,,
I definitely needed this FUCK the haters keep making content 💪🏾
I’m in Norfolk for a month for work. Everywhere I’ve tried to go fishing there are signs everywhere saying “no fishing or crabbing”. I’ve never seen a place so unfriendly to fisherman. What gives, Virginia?
People trash places. Prime example is airport Dr chickahominy River access in Richmond. Used to be a hidden gem....then Henrico county made it a public park......only took 6 months to get trashed and fished out. No more turtles, fish, birds etc. People are great
I fish em any way almost every spot I fish has a sign says no fishing
I grew up in sandbridge
what about little creek will a 14ft mod v jon boat be gd at lynhaven or anywhere else
14 ft Jonboat you are solid! Rudee, Lynnhaven, just don't go outside an inlet. But you are fine to take it all over the inshore waters.
