I took my kayak out there for the first this past fall. It was the first time taking my kayak out into salt water. Caught several decent sized Speckled (My first I've ever caught) and a juvenile Black Sea Bass. I had a blast! Can't wait to go out during the summer and fish for flounder.
Thanks for the video, I used to live in VA. That's a great spot, have caught specks, reds, flounder and stripers right on that corner you did your intro at . Good trout on other end of bridge ocean side.
My favorite place to fish. The puppy (red) drum and speckled trout are also really good in there. I was surprised how calm the water under the bridge was in the beginning of your video! It picked up speed by the end though. It gets crazy fast under there. I remember fishing for striper from the beach with 3oz. jigs and they still would get swept away by the current.
Fished that area many, many years when I lived in Virginia. Speckleds and flounder were prevalent. Was fishing the area in a kayak a couple years ago and had some luck on reds. You're not kidding about that current during a tide change.. In the 70/80's, the city had a sign erected that listed some two dozen drownings or so due to the current and severe undertow. I see from your video the sign no longer exists.
I remember the sign in the 70's. I was a member of Ocean Park Fire and Rescue located near the inlet. I worked a few drowning's there. I also caught my biggest speckled trout off the beach at the bridge.
It's my fault the police were out there. I fussed that foreman out last week. He's not gonna yell and threaten to have me arrested. I been fishing that beach 40 years. Screw him.
Man, you are fishing about 50 yards off the beach where I fish under the bridge off the beach. I always watch the guys in kayaks catch fish while I stand there and get continually skunked. Don’t have the reach from the beach with light artificials.
I just subscribed! Thanks for sharing. I just moved to the are a few weeks ago and just got into kayak fishing this Spring. What boat ramp were you guys using there near the Lynnhaven Inlet? Do you have the address? Thanks! As soon as I am settled in I plan to get out there on the water. Getting excited the more channels I find on the subject.
Lynnhaven Boat Ramp & Beach Facility, Virginia Beach, VA 23455. If you put that into Google Maps, it will find it. You don't have to use the boat ramp to launch, as it can be busy. There is a beach launch area for canoes and kayaks off to the left of the parking lot if you turn on the satellite overlay.
Yep. Just zoomed in and saw the kayak beach launch. On the opposite side of the cove from the ramp... about maybe 10 to 20 yards from the parking lot. Got it. Thanks!
@@antonbrown5860 I ended up moving (1hr South) down to Elizabeth City, NC last August actually. LOTs more inshore waters down here (Kayak wise). Still planning on coming up that way though from time to time.
Awesome day with you friends . Are those wheels stay on you PA ? I have been using Hobie Wheels but it’s not easy to use when my PA is fully loaded . Yours seems easy to use ? Great video Jessie .
Yes they stay on the Yak. The Hobie cart is a pain to use. These you can fold them down in the water and just walk right up the boat ramp. Beach launching though the wheels I have aren't that great, but you can put the beach wheels on it and it works fine
Thanks so much. I fish for Flounder in the FMB area using the Gulp 3" Shrimp in New Penny and Natural colors using your exact style here but wasn't even aware of the Pogy lure and think the tail action could be an advantage. Again the tip and insight are greatly appreciated.
Nice, my wife and I have been listening to Scott’s music for a while. He defiantly can put some good beats together. We always try to go watch a show when he gets close to RVA. Anyways , I like the videos and may the fish be with you.😀
Jessie , I know you will post video later but me and my friend are thinking going out for flounder tomorrow . Do you think it will be worth to go Wise point ? Thank you.
Love seeing people showing my home state how beautiful she is.
Thank you I wish I could be there with you.
Thanks for watching!
Always well-shot and edited. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!

Still a good day on the water, can't wait to get a kayak of my own.
Yes it was, and I would do it again in a second

Great fishing trip and happy I found your channel , Nice catches and lot's of fun .
Yeah man thanks for watching!
That beach has been off limits for at least four years I believe. The city needs to hurry up and re open it
Thank God! The beach anglers cast and have lines everywhere in the channel. Keep it closed VB!
It’s being reopened after construction. Thank god. Then it’s game on

That’s awesome . Who makes this wheel system ? Does it require drilling holes for installation ?
Boonedox, just google Boonedox Landing Gear. And yes you have to drill 4 holes for the setup... Be sure to buy it straight from the manufacturer
Heading up this coming weekend from South Carolina think I got the chance to catch some fish this time of year?
Sorry for the delay, stripers and togs this time of year, maybe some early puppy drum
Good stuff and I'm a Gulp fan myself but haven't used these Pogys. What color is that? Thanks
They work great for Flounder, and I think the color this day was Sardine, also I use Smelt a lot
Thanks so much. I fish for Flounder in the FMB area using the Gulp 3" Shrimp in New Penny and Natural colors using your exact style here but wasn't even aware of the Pogy lure and think the tail action could be an advantage. Again the tip and insight are greatly appreciated.
but you guys were on kayak.. did you guys decided to take a break and land on that beach?
Great vidja as always!
Tight lines
Thank you!
Very well produced video. Good camera work, good editing, not too much 'face in camera' time.
Thank you very much! I appreciate the comment and thanks for watching
you make it look soo easy, i have 60+hrs without a fluke. so sad
Sounds like you may need to try some different spots
Try the courts for flounder!
Trust me I did, jigged all around that area...
You can fish with me anytime bud! Paddle or pedal...
Thanks! James and I are long time friends. I've known him since he was much younger. I'm just a crippled old fart...lol.
Nice vid. Thanx for posting.
Thank you!
Flatty fishing is always fun. Stick Figure is a great band!!

Picked up on the music in the background. Are you a StickFigure fan?
Yeah man I like their beats, really chill. Some of their songs anyway. This is the second time I used them in a video
