Ok, for you guys that don't know what the hell his going on in this comments section: This song was originally made in 2011, but was only uploaded to UA-cam in 2017. In 2015, a game named Undertale was released. A guy who made remixes of the game's music, SharaX, decided to make a mashup of this song with one of the themes of a character in the game, whose name was Sans. This theme was only used for the bad ending of the game and was called Megalovania, and SharaX decided to name the mashup Tokyovania. He originally made the mashup song to show the feelings of Sans and his brother, Papyrus, in the bad ending, as this song is about, from what I have heard in the comments, depression and anxiety. The mashup would later be used for a fanmade character of the game, Ink Sans. For some reason, Undertale fans thought that this song was the one that copied Tokyovania, as Tokyovania was made in 2015 and this was released on UA-cam in 2017. They did not know that the song was originally made in 2011 before being uploaded to UA-cam.
It says on vocaloid wiki (I just want to everyone to know) "Tokyo Teddy Bear" is an original song by Neru and one of his most notable songs. It was uploaded to UA-cam on December 16, 2017. The boy in the video is named Teddy. The song is rather vague, and so several interpretations can be made. A possible meaning for the song is that he runs away from home and his family, thinking that he has a 'crazy filled mind'. He appears to hate his life and wants to change. In the song, he struggles with why he needs to change, seen in the lyrics; "Make a fool of yourself." Either these are his parents words to him, or these are his own thoughts. He appears to fear that changing can only make him a mere fool. In other lyrics, he asks why he can't just be loved; possibly by his family; and expresses wishes to cut his face off with scissors. This appears to indicate he has a history of, or is contemplating, harming himself, whether by literally cutting himself or by inflicting mental pain. The teddy bear could also represent him. Interpreting cutting his face off with scissors as self-harm is extremely dumb, it would rather imply he wants to destroy his identity or feels extreme shame to the point he can't stand anyone to look at him

As a 20 year old listening to this song again, I tear up remembering how mentally unhealthy I was at the age of 14. I wish I could tell my younger self that things were gonna be ok. I felt so alone, so much pressure to fit in. I wanted to be the “smart kid”. I wanted to please my parents and give them a better life when I was older. If you are suffering with mental illness please reach out before things get dangerous. I wish I did. And I regret it. As an young adult now, I still suffer with mental illness but the pressure of high school and adolescence is gone. I feel much better now. :) This song will forever be a part of my life and I appreciate it cuz I knew I wasn’t alone in the world, others felt the same way. :)
Totally understand you! I'm looking for some of the songs that I used to hear when I was younger and is shocking how sad or creepy they sound. Things almost got dangerous to me, I remember that this song used to be a way for me to express my rage and sadness. I met Jesus when I was 15/16 and if wasn't by Him I can't imagine how I would have destroyed myself.

Personally I’ve loved “im not your Agitator” the most, but Tokyo teddy bear and lost ones weeping have a special place in my heart for being the first couple Vocaloid songs I heard.
Ok so I’m just gonna say what I personally think the song means So there is this boy who runs away from a probably abusive home. He has nothing after that but the inner pain that he tries to make physically by hurting himself and wanting to cut his face in pieces with a scissor. I personally feel that one line where he says “tell me I don’t need anything but my brain” so I feel like the abuse I was talking about at the start is like a mental abuse of the parents only care about academics. I personally grew up with this type of parents so I’m interpreting it more like how my parents raised and gaslighted me. Basically it’s like they don’t care about anything but grades so he could try suwer slide and they would say something like “you can think about that but not about your grades” which is REALLY toxic. So the reason why he said sorry to them at the start is because of his academics. He says sorry for being a “mistake”, he says sorry for being useless, he says sorry for being a disappointment. At the end he just doesn’t even have the strength to keep going so he commits. Now after I read through all of that I think that the good bye he says to everyone is more like a goodbye before he commits and the “brother sister, I’ll see you later” is like a “see u in another life” meaning.

"Tokyo Teddy Bear" is an original song by Neru and one of his most notable songs. It was uploaded to UA-cam on December 16, 2017. The boy in the video is named Teddy.
The song is rather vague, and so several interpretations can be made. A possible meaning for the song is that he runs away from home and his family, thinking that he has a 'crazy filled mind'. He appears to hate his life and wants to change. In the song, he struggles with why he needs to change, seen in the lyrics; "Make a fool of yourself." Either these are his parents words to him, or these are his own thoughts. He appears to fear that changing can only make him a mere fool.
In other lyrics, he asks why he can't just be loved; possibly by his family; and expresses wishes to cut his face off with scissors. This appears to indicate he has a history of, or is contemplating, harming himself, whether by literally cutting himself or by inflicting mental pain.
The teddy bear could also represent him. The stuffed toy is nearly torn apart and is a mess of stitches and patches, much like he imagines himself to be on the inside. The teddy bear's physical state symbolizes his internal suffering. Seeing himself, like the bear, as being destined to be constantly torn apart and patched up again, he expresses a desire to be "patched" up and be fixed. At some parts, he hints of pulling the last string that keeps the teddy bear together, possibly symbolizing his death. Tokyo Teddy Bear is not a copy of Toykovania. Tokyovania used some of the same notes in its song, it's a remix of both of the songs. That's why it's called "Toykovania", from "Toyko Teddy Bear". Toyko Teddy Bear was made first, by Neru.

As a 20 year old listening to this song again, I tear up remembering how mentally unhealthy I was at the age of 14. I wish I could tell my younger self that things were gonna be ok. I felt so alone, so much pressure to fit in. I wanted to be the “smart kid”. I wanted to please my parents and give them a better life when I was older.
If you are suffering with mental illness please reach out before things get dangerous. I wish I did. And I regret it.
As an young adult now, I still suffer with mental illness but the pressure of high school and adolescence is gone. I feel much better now. :)
This song will forever be a part of my life and I appreciate it cuz I knew I wasn’t alone in the world, others felt the same way.

Things almost got dangerous to me, I remember that this song used to be a way for me to express my rage and sadness. I met Jesus when I was 15/16 and if wasn't by Him I can't imagine how I would have destroyed myself.

Ok so I’m just gonna say what I personally think the song means
So there is this boy who runs away from a probably abusive home.
He has nothing after that but the inner pain that he tries to make physically by hurting himself and wanting to cut his face in pieces with a scissor.
I personally feel that one line where he says “tell me I don’t need anything but my brain” so I feel like the abuse I was talking about at the start is like a mental abuse of the parents only care about academics. I personally grew up with this type of parents so I’m interpreting it more like how my parents raised and gaslighted me.
Basically it’s like they don’t care about anything but grades so he could try suwer slide and they would say something like “you can think about that but not about your grades” which is REALLY toxic. So the reason why he said sorry to them at the start is because of his academics. He says sorry for being a “mistake”, he says sorry for being useless, he says sorry for being a disappointment. At the end he just doesn’t even have the strength to keep going so he commits.
Now after I read through all of that I think that the good bye he says to everyone is more like a goodbye before he commits and the “brother sister, I’ll see you later” is like a “see u in another life” meaning.
i think this meaning is the most accurate, at least the best possible interpretation that isnt fictional. if the song is based about something realistic, its definitely this

Yeah my parents only care about one thing and that is school and a sport I dont even want to be a part of so they give no shits about my mental health she is the equivalent of a school counselor so time to time when I dont feel well I slit my wrist to tell myself that if I hit a vein then I will bleed out one time I might of cut a vein a little bit and it bled for a while but yesterday and the day before I have slit my wrist a couple times since I have been feeling neglected lately I feel like I'm a tool of some sort the last thing that made me happy is the crazy ass weed trip I had yesterday

@@mondobutter45 my mom only cares about school grades than my mental health 1 day I put cuts on my wrist using scissor and my other wrist is my mom scratch which is bleeding I was so depressed I'm thinking about committing suicide since I feel like I don't deserve in this family and comparing myself on my sisters which have high grades

Also I really agree with your theory... I've been wishing for a comment to say this. As somebody who is dealing with a traumatic home life the lyrics resonates with me so much... I can't put it into words, but it feels like it just makes sense. And it feels like this is the song that really speaks about child abuse. Thanks for listening to my rambling
