Hey guys, what do you think, is this a solid budget alternative to the Seiko Sarb033? Keep in mind they also do a 40mm if this one is a little to small for you. Thanks guys and have a good one.
The line is there because they are hollow links they are just put together to look like they’re solid and that is the seam where the two pieces connect. All of their new Seiko 5 Watches have the seam on the bracelet as well.
Thank you for the information, thought it was a bit weird for a solid link to have a line so that makes sense. I suppose it's better than the older method they used but why they aren't solid I don't know.
Just to let you know I bought one and I love it. On mine the seconds hand is very accurate. It hits perfectly in between each marker! Oh well, I think I would actually prefer completely out to just slightly out, strangely!
Oh yeah its a great watch and yeah seems to be a common problem these days. But yeah I agree, if it hit bang in the middle of the markers I wouldn't notice as much.
Needs to be available in a range of case sizes from 34mm upwards. REALLY need the date to be white on black. I sometimes think that Seiko doesn't have a clue about customer choice...
Very nice watch. Would prefer the larger one though. I think my sweet spot nowadays is 40 to 43. Problem with Seiko quartz watches is that they are too expensive. Luckily for me I find plenty of Casio analogs I like (and they tend to hit the markers "always") and Orient makes and offers tons of quartz analogs in my country. Great video, thanks!
You're welcome and yeah they can be a touch pricey but then again so are swiss quartz. But then again sometimes the movement isn't the most expensive thing that goes into a watch.
Cant agree more Casio tends to hit markers all the time atleast for me.Problem is minimal watches are bit rare thats we like these watches Seiko sarb, tissot gentleman, rolex op,etc
Nice review mate! It is a huge surprise Seiko put a piece of sapphire on this quite affordable piece while putting a crappy Hardlex on watches costing more than twice as much. Agree about the date wheel. The bracelet links are solid in terms of not having cavities inside of them but they consist of folded elements whose sides are them being polished, hence that little visible line.
Thanks mate and yeah was surprised by that too, maybe they're finally listening or maybe just had some spare crystals lying around. Oh I didn't know that. Honestly thought they were solid. But thinking on it now, thats probably why its so light.
Yeah it really is and I actually noticed while filming it hits its markers better in some positions than it does others, its very strange. Thanks for watching
This is a watch that I've been looking at, but I've been keeping an eye out for the blue version. It looks like a fantastic watch for the price, if you don't mind quartz. The only thing holding me back is the bracelet. I think it's a very nicely done folded link bracelet. But still folded, and I just don't like the sound it makes. But anyway, great review!
Thanks mate and it is a bit jingly jangly unfortunately but least it looks nicer than the older way of doing it. Why they can't spring for solid links though.
100M WR, And Sapphire crystal is pretty nice. And I really like the smaller size. Unfortunately, in June 2023 it doesn't seem to be available anywhere, even eBay.
@@WesWatchRoom I really like those snx. I had the silver dial too for refurbishment. I wore it for about a week, it was nice. Obviously has no sapphire and the bracelet is a bit rubbish but it's a cheap watch. It looks a lot more expensive than it is. They sell the "hodinkee- the $75 watch that looks a million bucks" on eBay for around £120. I bet plenty of people have upgraded the crystal and bracelet on those.
I’m looking at a Seiko Sur145 model from eBay and looks like this one. I couldn’t find anything for the Sur145 so looking at this model for comparison. The one I’m looking at has the 100 marked on the bottom for water proof .
Your simply not going to get a quartz watch that hit the markers every single time unless it’s a grand seiko quartz. That’s just a fact of life with quartz.
@@turnbasedtoddy7664 I don't know about that one mate. Had a few cheap ones that I got lucky with that hit all the markers, but you're right, you have to be lucky.
Is the second hand slack causing it to miss some markers? That's quite common on cheaper quartz movements. Seiko put a spring to counteract the slack on their top movements. Funny they do a quartz movement with 4 ticks per second but have never used it in any of their own watches to my knowledge.
Potentially could be the cause and ikr, I have a chinese watch with one and it baffles me why seiko don't use it. Really confusing. Thanks for watching
Great line by Seiko, even the Titanium are amazing watches. As for those who don't like quartz, who cares, we're timing... right! 😜 Cheers Wes, lovely watch (i'd get the white, matter of taste i guess), be well mate. Cheers.
I really like this watch after your Review. I want to buy it but it looks like its discontinued. Do you know where I can still get this watch in Navy Blue? ( The 309P1 is too large for me, the 319p1 would fit me perfectly because i have a small wrist)
It's really nice,I need a watch like this for work,do you know what the product code is for the 40mm? That line on the bracelet means it is a folded link bracelet just finished better than the seiko 5s of old lol😂great review as always 😃👍
Thanks for the info mate, glad of that, looks way better, but should be solid at this price and its the SUR311P1. Identical apart from a larger diameter.
If you prefer vintage sizes then it should be good, but it is small. Keep that in mind. You could see if your local watch store has one to try on beforehand

yeah clean dial, and sapphire its a bargain tbh
I have the 40mm version of this (SUR311) and it’s been my favorite ever since (along with my Garmin Instinct 2).

Another solid review! I do love me some Seiko. That line on the bracelet is kind of weird though. lol
Thanks mate and according to some comments they're actually fancy folded links, not like the more rubbish ones you get one old seiko 5s.

Really nice find. Looks like a great watch for the cost.
Thanks and it really is a lovely little watch.
Maybe can i upgrade for a uncle Seiko bracelet? Great video and beautiful watch!
Thank you and I'm not sure. They could offer one that fits, but not 100% on that

They're hollow and folded, the end links are hollow too, it's painfully obvious. But these look great on leather bands or aftermarket 18mm bracelets.
Seiko has great watches and this one no different this should have done this in their 7s26 movement awesome review mate
They really do and it would have been nice to see a budget auto absolutely. Thanks mate
Hey, this is a great find. Decent specs all round. My only niggle is the seconds hand not hitting the markers.
99% of not luxury quartz watches doesnt hit the markers perfectly, its about luck if they do.
@@Visitor555 Yeah. It blows my mind the watches costing thousands can’t do it. But it is possible. Look at Casio.
That was the first thing I noticed and it immediately turns me off it.
Yeah it really is and I actually noticed while filming it hits its markers better in some positions than it does others, its very strange. Thanks for watching
@Chris yeah it is a bit of a downer
Thanks for the review. Sieko, please take the extra step and throw in a 4R. Seiko, please don't miss this chance.
That would be awesome. Think this one is a little too small but it would fit in the 40mm, then it would be a great replacement for the sarb.
@@WesWatchRoom Thin maybe but a different case back solves that. All older Seiko 5's manage the 7S26 and the 4R (NH) movements.
@@jims4539 yeah slipped my mind, funny thing is I'm actually wearing an snk now and still didn't realise 😂

This is super stylish but I would opt for the 40mm because of my 8'' wrist.
Yeah that would be the right choice and the 40 is actually cheaper too. So thats a win. Thanks mate
Missing those second lines is a big no no ...
It's alright. I think I'd prefer the snxs79. Half the price and automatic.
Yeah that is a good shout, the SNX is an awesome watch. Had the silver dial ages ago but sold it. Not sure what I was thinking at the time really.

Deffo mate, sold mine which I really shouldn't have done, but just needed the cash unfortunately. Might hunt one down again now though.
Real shame they discontinued this. I had the 40mm on wrist, but that one is just too big for its style.

Found for $134 us 98 pounds on line. Don’t mind quartz but missing the indices is just lazy.
$134 is a really great price and it's actually quite surprising how many higher price quartz miss their markers. But yeah it's not good

I really like this but the hands seem to disappear on the black dial. Is that an issue of just the camera angle?
The angle of the light, in normal lighting they're fine and fine outdoors too.
Thanks, it looks lovely!
@@jonathanlloyd2306 no problem and it definitely is
Did they used sapphire coated glass on Hardlex glass? It feels warm on my forehead…
It doesn't mention that its coated, but potentially as a cost saving measure.
