I can’t thank you enough for this video! I had to make one for the first time and thanks to you it wasn’t a disaster!! I definitely need more practice but your instructions helped me so much!!
Thank you so much for the step by step easy to follow video on how to make a dhol cake! This is the best dhol cake tutorial I have watched. There is so much detailed explanation. Thank you again.
Wow... MashaAllah beautiful. Your tutorials are amazinggg and in so detail. Love watching your videos 😘😘😘. Could you please also do 2 tier cushion cake tutorial ... lots of love 😘
Such a detailed tutorial, thank you so much. Can you please start some baking classes ,my son’s birthday is coming up and I mess up the sponge cake every single time🙈 need some basics to learn.
Hi,thankyou for such a detailed video can you please the link what have you mixed with the gold dust and which gold dust have you used,as I am also in UK so would be easy for me to find it,plus how many servings will this cake give and if you can guide how much would one sell this size of dhol cake for in London, thanks.
Unfortunately I don’t have links to the moulds as I bought them ages ago from different places. But search baroque mould and scroll mould on eBay and AliExpress you should be able to find something similar. Thank you
Hi, I'm about to make this cake. Just wanted to check, won't the cake collapse if I bake round cakes and stand it to the side? It's going to travel a long way. So want to be extra careful. Thanks for the lovely tutorial.
Some quick questions for you! -why can’t you just paint the fondant details with luster dust before putting them on the cake? -how long do you wait after you kneaded the fondant with cmc powder?
Some time the lustre particles goes everywhere when you touch the piece hence I paint when it’s on the cake. I wait about an hour after adding CMC. Sometimes even less than that.
Cool Calm and Mom I collected them over the period of 7-8years I really don’t remember. I bought them from different places including eBay, amazon, AliExpress and some cake decorating companies.
Salam I love your dholki cake Have a question about it Do you soak your cake layers in syrup before compiling specifically in making dhol and turning its orientation after assembling ? Thanks
Thank you! This and all your videos are great! The people I am making this cake for want a whipped chocolate ganache filling. What are your thoughts on that? Do you think that is advisable?
Very kind of you dear. Yes you can use whipped ganache but whipping ganache makes its shelf life shorter. So keep that in mind. The cake can’t be left out of the fridge for the whole day like we can with non whipped ganache. Thank you
Ok I personally don’t like it smaller than this but yeah you can definitely make it smaller but just keep in mind that it might look as good as in bigger size.
Renshaw fuchsia and emerald green fondant. Gold dust Faye Cahill in the shade regency gold and signature gold mixed together with Lemon extract to make the paint.
Hi Faryal, I hope you are doing well, I really enjoyed watching your tutorial thank you very much ! And also is it possible to provide where you exactly bought those beautiful mould from. Because I bought couple of mould from eBay it’s sooo hard to remove from the mould I think my mould is not deep enough I don’t know. Thank you xxx
I bought them over the period of 8years I really don’t remember exactly. But I did but from eBay, Amazon , AliExpress and some from the online cake business websites. Kare Davies and fpc moulds are great quality
Shamas Shah can you elaborate more please I didn’t understand. I don’t put the cake in the fridge after baking. I just wrap it in cling film and leave in the cake box to use it next day. Thank you Peace and love Faryal
Lovely cake and loved the detailed description throughout, so helpful. Just a quick question regarding the gold painting detail, could I use lemon juice is it the same as lemon extract? Or could I use Cocoa butter beans with the gold lustre dust? Thank you so much 🥰
I would not recommend lemon juice. It separates the lustre and makes it grainy. On the other hand lemon extract makes it smooth as it has oily texture. If you can’t find Lemon extract use regular cooking oil but keep in mind anything other than rejuvenator/ alcohol will not dry up completely so avoid touching once painted. Thank you Faryal
I bought them from different places and collected them over the period of 8years hence I do not remember exactly where I got them from. But have a look at eBay and Amazon search silicone scroll moulds and you might find some. Thank you Peace and love Faryal
I don’t remember exactly I bought them ages ago. Some of them from Amazon, some eBay and some AliExpress. Search baroque moulds and scroll moulds you should be able to find them.
Wow amazing work, truly stunning!! I am wanting to make this cake for a mehndi but im unsure how much to charge? What do you charge for this style and size of cake x
I collected them over the period of 7-8years I really don’t remember. I bought them from different places including eBay, amazon, AliExpress and some cake decorating shops. If looking on Amazon or eBay try searching with baroque moulds and scroll moulds.
Salam dear sister in faith, do you make a Victorian sponge cake? Also wrapping the cakes in cling film what does that do to the cake? Also when you’re crumb coating is butter cream or white ganache? Do the cakes go dry when in the fridge? Mines went dry in fridge. Do you use sugar syrup to keek them moist?? I look forward to your reply sister and stay safe.
Walaikum Salaam I always use victoria sponge cake. once the cakes are cool down i wrap them in cling film until i start working on the cake. The cling film keeps the moisture locked in the sponge. I used ganache for crumb coating. Buttercream was in between the layers only. My cakes usually very moist they don't go dry. anyway I only keep it in the fridge for little while until the coat is set. In cold weathers it only takes 15min. You can brush some sugar syrup if you fear it will go dry. Hope this helps Thank you Peace and love Faryal
May I plz know wat is Victoria cake spong and please can you make a video on ur sponge cake which u use usually in ur fondant n butter n ganache cakes please .
I feel if you wanna achieve a good look and shape of the dhol then the size I have used in the video is the perfect size. Smaller than this would not have the same effect. However you can try making it from a 7” round. Thank you Peace and love Faryal

Beautiful work! Quick question, instead of carving the cake, can I just bake it in 6”, 7” and 8” pans? And then stack them according to size?
Somehow it doesn’t give nice slope hence I don’t prefer that. I did try it. But you can try and see if that’s what you prefer or find it easier.
Thank you, thank you thank you soooooooooo much for such a lovely video ❤️❤️

Do you soak your cake layers in syrup before compiling specifically in making dhol and turning its orientation after assembling ?
Thanks
Walaikum salaam sister
No I don’t use sugar syrup as my cakes are perfectly moist.
Thank you
Regards
Faryal
Thanks for the video I want to ask if I can use butter cream to replace the ganache?
I wouldn't suggest that as the cake is very heavy and need a firm support from the outside. Hope that makes sense.
Thank you
Faryal

It was either 18” or 20”.

Ohh I was told after backing a cake if you want to decorate it after a few days then leave it in the fridge or freezer ??
Shamas Shah I only make the cake two days in advance so one day is for baking and second day is for decorating. I don’t bake too early.
Lovely cake and loved the detailed description throughout, so helpful.

Hi,
Can you please advise on
1.how much of gold paint is required ?
2. How long can the cake last out of the refrigerator?
Thank you very much
Cake lasts between 3-5 days depending on the weather where you live.
Can’t advise on gold paint as I keep mixing little by little as go along.
