This was ridiculously fun.
Keith Merrow hahahahah
Nick Johnston I have heard great things about those Quilter amps. Amazing tones & skill in this
vid I must say! I'm a drummer who is at best an intermediate guitarist. I
have a decent 50 watt 2x12 tube combo, and hit it with the "el cheapo"
Bad Monkey to push my crunch into higher gain chug, but have not gone down
the road of clean to straight OD tones just yet. Took me ages just to back
off the gain and respect my amps real tone and dynamics. Overdrive was one of those FX that was a mystery to me
until I got the right amp and experimented with it. Never been a fan of TS type OD pedals "mid hump"tho. This stomp sounds great in this style of application. Bravo!
Nick Johnston Hi Mr Nick. Awesome playing as always. I just have a question, in around 3-4 minute mark, is your tone coming directly from the SD805 or you have some gain as well in the amp? Thanks a lot! Stay awesome.
+Nick Johnston What songs were you playing! They're beautiful!
+Nick Johnston You are insane guitar player!!! Unique one!!
Incredible. Superb work guys!
Rick Graham Thanks buddy
+Rick Graham senpai noticed omg!!!

Nick is really one of those guys who could plug a broomstick into a toaster and it would still sound amazing!
Haha funny comparison. But true
This guy just doesn't get all the credit he deserves... Such a fantastic player.
Maybe a little these days?
@@nirnaya13 yeah 7 years later
Dude has such a nice touch on the instrument it's unreal.
Dem Opeth vibes..
Emil Bringsli was gonna say the exact thing myself till i read i wasnt the only one who had the same opinion :p
Emil Bringsli they were so strong that I just now bought Blackwater Park on iTunes even though I own the CD. I need it on my phone.
Emil Bringsli Exactly!
Emil Bringsli Exactly!

Love the tones and the player! Got to get that pedal and some lessons!
Wait a minute. I have that pedal and I don’t sound like that. I’ve been stalking Nick on UA-cam. Incredible playing.
Never heard of this guy before, I sure do now! Damn that was amazing, such a dynamic player with great feel. The pedal seems kinda cool as well, tasteful overdrive, not too harsh.
the best pedal review I think I've EVER seen.... a real-time knob tweaked is the shit.
putting in my order. thanks guys!
Amazing tone!
I think we definitely need a new home studio tour, holy shit dude, it's sounding incredible!
Really nice tone and sweet chops musical sounding and my newest discovery can't love this too much!
Playing, guitar, pedal... all incredible.
Very nice playing!
Nick is PHAT. A colab between them two would be so dope.
I just bought this pedal a few hours ago but this video has completely re-sold me on it.
Great video, awesome playing, incredible music!
Keith is doing this kind of videos for some time. Maybe Mr. Merrow should consider doing some of these videos with young and talented people who need a jumpstart in music world and music industry? Like a promotion or something!
The song + solo sound Opeth-ish, sweet :D (+ some Guthrie influence in the licks)
Johnston tune on the beginning; Atomic Mind --- sooo beautiful melody!!!
Man, I just got the pedal this evening all I can say is bravo Seymour Duncan! Amazing versatility. Well worth the price.
Sweet christ this is some if the best goddamn playing I've seen in a while. The tone is nuts as well. Very Opeth in the beginning.
Some of the sexiest playing I've ever heard
Thanks guys! Excellent playing and great video. I have one of these pedals coming in next week. Can't wait. Seymour Duncan has been knocking it out of the park with their recent pedals.
One of the best overdrive pedal I ever played, so tight
Very SRV sounding and then some. Very transparent, Great tone!
All the good buddies (Hauch, Nick, You, Gord, Loomis) should do something together.
Yash Gadwal don't forget Ola Englund!
Man dude, I wish I could play like that. I'm 66 yrs old now and been playing 51 years and I can't even come close to your playing.

Now ... Jam ... Keih Merrow with Nick Johnston
Do guys like Nick Johnston, Keith Merrow, and Jeff Loomis ever get bored with their own playing? Just wondering cuz if I played like them I would probably be playing 24 hours a day. What talent those guys have.

Awesome, Nick!
Sorry if this has been asked already but what are the pickups on that Schecter?
Nick: What the heck kind of pick are you using? It looks like a slab of wood in this video. (And thanks for all the beautiful playing! Slab or no slab, you got it going on.)
Michael Sweeney Swiss Pick :)
So is this just something Nick made up for the video, or is this one his actual songs? It's awesome and I want to buy it lol
CrypticShred It's a song of mine called 'Atomic Mind' :)
