I'm here for James McAvoy
I'm here for both...
From it chapter two
Me too
Me too
The guitar solo in background replay was done so beautifully!!
remember when you had to make a movie with a truly exceptional sound to win this two awards?
This has 4 of my favorite things:
1. Queen
2. BoRhap getting a 2 in 1 (because of the Best Actor award)
3. James McAvoy
4. Danai Gurira
I can somewhat understand the Sound Mixing win, but Sound Editing? No.
Really? The editing of all three singing voices to make it sound like one voice?
Yeah 100%! A quiet place deserved it tbh
First Man: Am I a joke to you?
underated
Can we just appreciate the guitar playing 🔥
*Again, the large biggest part of voters have no idea what sound editing is.*
I dont give fuk, BohRhap won so deal with it. 😭😭😭
A sound editor is a creative professional responsible for selecting and assembling sound recordings in preparation for the final sound mixing or mastering of a television program, motion picture, video game, or any production involving recorded or synthetic sound. Sound editing developed out of the need to fix the incomplete, undramatic, or technically inferior sound recordings of early talkies, and over the decades has become a respected filmmaking craft, with sound editors implementing the aesthetic goals of motion picture sound design.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recognizes the artistic contribution of exceptional sound editing with the Academy Award for Best Sound Editing.
There are primarily three divisions of sound that are combined to create a final mix, these being dialogue, effects, and music. In larger markets such as New York and Los Angeles, sound editors often specialize in only one of these areas, thus a show will have separate dialogue, effects, and music editors. In smaller markets, sound editors are expected to know how to handle it all, often crossing over into the mixing realm as well. Editing effects is likened to creating the sonic world from scratch, while dialogue editing is likened to taking the existing sonic world and fixing it. Dialogue editing is more accurately thought of as "production sound editing", where the editor takes the original sound recorded on the set, and using a variety of techniques, makes the dialogue more understandable, as well as smoother, so the listener doesn't hear the transitions from shot to shot (often the background sounds underneath the words change dramatically from take to take). Among the challenges that effects editors face are creatively adding together various elements to create believable sounds for everything you see on screen, as well as memorizing their sound effects library.
@@jwelch5742 , *thank you for trying teaching 80 per cent of voters what sound editing is. Thank you for trying so hard. But I'm affraid it is very far from being enough to educate them.*
@@dibarel Yes, that's the only option: dealing with this inglorious award. Almost as inglorious as film editing.
@@jwelch5742 Great copy and paste skills i'm impressed
all jokes aside ty for commenting it anyways
I’m here for Bohemian Rhapsody
Very rare to see back stage crew getting standing ovation, even if it is partial standing ovation. But they got it
I don’t care what negativity people have about the film, it deserved all 4 oscars it won. I’ll never forget 13 year old me who had just discovered Queen from this movie, watching this on tv. Here I am 3 years later and Queen is still my favorite band
Bohemian rhapsody deserved it. Even I am amuse with a quiet place.
Professor X and Okoye!
Nice one, Bohemian Rhapsody!

@@ledepi34 What dislikes?
Unfortunately the commentors here have no idea what goes into putting sound into a movie. Try watching the back story on all the work these two put in to create Live Aid recreation before you say they did not deserve their Oscars. Their peers did the voting and they know what was done for sound in this movie. Gold Derby had already predicted that wins in both sound categories could go to BoRhap based on the support in their own academies and surveys of Academy voters in general.
LOL Remember when those same people said Shakespeare in Love was better than Saving Private Ryan? Plus, all members pick the winners of these awards. Not all of the actors in the actors branch of the Academy know what was done for sound in the movie, or any movie.
@@connorw2k I did my homework. When I said their peers did the voting I was refering to their respective wins in their branches, CAS for sound mixing, and MPSE wins for Feature/dialogue, and Musical Feature. Bohemian Rhapsody won both branches biggest prizes before entering into the Oscar voting. The branches are voted only by sound members. That is why both sound awards were not a surprise at the Oscars, they were already favored by sound experts to take those categories.
@@lehcaraz1 Ok, stop right there. What exactly do you believe is the top prize at MPSE? Dialogue and ADR? LMAO.
War for the Planet of the Apes won that award a year ago. Did that even get nominated at the Oscars?
@@connorw2k Also won Musical Feature. Give it up. You have no defense for your argument. I have put forth my defense with facts. Just shut up already. I am tired of people arguing about awards they know nothing about but think they are the experts. Done.
Exactly! Thank you, finally someone who understands!
Lets goooo queen

@@GabrielSilva-br8nl And its still regarded as one of the worst winners of this decade.

@@GabrielSilva-br8nl It's not much of a prize if most people agree that it was underserved. My condolences that you can't look past such shallow justifications.
A Quiet Place should've won
Sound? You mean MUSIC.
Brits winning at Oscars and Grammys always makes me proud to be British
Bohemian Rhapsody has great sound editing.
(Deadpool voice) You're still here.
no
Because damn the Oscar is for those and not for the members of Queen who really composed it
Come on Academy
This award should be for A Quiet Place (and the movie deserves more nominations)
It should have been nominated for directing and lead actress too.
Congratulations Bohemian Rhapsody 😀

Why do I think Queen members must have promised they wouldn’t attend or perform if the movie doesn’t win few Oscars ... 😣
Deserve
I mean, I love freddie and the bohemian movie so good job for them!!
A Quiet Place definitely should’ve won! That movie has unique sounds edited together eg the monster’s clicking sounds, just to name a few. The movie is literally revolves around SOUND then this happened...
Agreed
Yeah I agree too . I mean I love Queen and BoRhap it was a sensational movie but I don't think the voting people knew what sound editing is 😂
Lol
First man is the real winner here or A quiet place
honestly it would have been either a quiet place or bohemian rhapsody
Because music = sOUnD DeSigN
After watching the movie and bts I can understand why this won best editing. Voice editing, combining thousands of fan entries singing to Queen’s songs, and Live Aid concert. Just phenomenal!
IM SORRY. THIS IS OUT OF CONTEXT BUT THIS GUY NAMED JAMES WAS ROBBED IN 2016 FOR SPLIT. THANKS
2:00 what happened there?
Racism?
What do u mean?
This was first man or the quite place award
My nominees should be
*First Man - WINNER*
Bohemian Rhapsody
Mission Impossible Fallout
Black Panther
A Quiet Place
LOl
They literally just replayed some songs
As much as I loved First Man and Bohemian Rhapsody, it clearly should have gone to A Quiet Place. It handled the silent moments incredibly well.
die the sound in that movie sucks more than morbius

Bohemian deserve such much

I watched Rami’s acceptance speech in addition to this one, I’m so disappointed that nobody acknowledged Canadian singer Marc Martel who voice we hear throughout the movie. Marc has a singing voice that is a reincarnation of Freddie, it is not an impersonation it is his natural god given voice. It sure would have been nice to see some acknowledgement of Marc because he brought the musical aspect of this movie to life.
1. First Man
2. A Quiet Place
3. Bohemian Rhapsody
4. Black Panther
5. Roma
For me
1 First Man
2 A Quiet Place
3 Black Panther
4 Bohemian Rhapsody
5 Roma
They really snatched it! You hate to see it!
sorry but a quiet place TOTALLY got snubbed... like come on. ALSO should’ve been nominated for best screenplay imo 🤷♀️
First Man should've won
Oscars Bohemian Rhapsody Wins Andra Gogan Concert Premiere Go 1:19
Everyone. Please stop complaining that the Quiet Place or First Man should have one. We all know that Bohemian Rhapsody is the best I mean come on!
You even know what sound editing is?
@TJP 123 ya
@TJP 123 Who the fuck are you? "Explain." Is that a demand? I don't have to prove myself to you, buddy. You are nobody - I don't need your validation. I have an idea of what it is, it's a basic understanding of it, but I'm not gonna share it with just any fucker who feels like proving themself to be right.
Nina is my best friends mum I see her every day
hello mate
Roma would’ve been a great pick for this and Mixing (May not be the obvious choice for those who watched the movie on Netflix/their TVs without a high quality sound system, but if you watched this in a movie theater you’d know just how immersive the sound design was in this movie, truly breathtaking).
But if not, literally any other pick would’ve been fine... EXCEPT for the one that actually won... 😑
Yeah if were talking mixing that or black panther would've been my pick
Bohemian rhapsody is great and all but quiet place should've won
Damn Right!
Ya. That or Roma. Both movies had very immersive sound design.
@Diego Pisfil I was talking about A Quiet Place and Roma. Bohemian Rhapsody _is_ trash, you're right. But, Roma's great.
no because quiet place shouldve won
Or First Man
The Gallileo overlapped on that Chicken scene made this movie win best sound editing
A Quiet Place deserved this hands down
Yeah!
ROMA IS THERE!
Undeserved
First Man and A Quiet Place were better
Yeah, I understand most of BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY's Oscar wins with the exception of Best Sound Editing.
The dialogue editing in First Man was kinda meh. Either way, at least it had actual sound editing.
Roma also had really REALLY good sound editing.
@Diego Pisfil You're trash.
Yeah, "best sound editing" my ass. Remember the War Rig's breath in Mad Max? Now we have this trash :/

It won't be that way for long

A quiet place was robbed
*A QUIET PLACE WAS ROBBED*
Can't believe that A Quiet Place was robbed.
@DARIUS-PETRU SALE BS. Black Panther wasn't robbed. It won the following:
Best Original Score
Best Costume Design
Best Production Design
But most importantly, it got a historic Best Picture nomination, the first for a superhero/comic-book film.
Should have gone to A Quiet Place
Or First Man
A Quiet Place or First Man should won.
But they didn't because they were suck ha ha ha ha Loser
@@didikachhangte2197 So it is two years now and we all figure out which movie actually sucked. If you believe Bohemian Rhapsody is clear sound winner it's okay and remember The Academy has no final validation over anything. I'm just pointing out which one were more stronger, Test of Time or The Academy.
Have a nice time watching "The Quiet Place 2".
Not even any of the Lord of the Rings films won both sound awards. But this one did.
Cudnt the award presenters present properly?
They didn't thank the director! That's funny. Must've been embarrassing for them.
Ya...
That was bullshit.
First Man should've won this; without the Sound design, you don't get the full experience that Damien Chazelle puts the audience on while in space.......
The dialogue editing was kind of trash tho
@Diego Pisfil Not better than Roma or A Quiet Place. Sounded like I was there. The static in the First Man dialogue kept me from doing the same.
A joke
If you watch the actual live aid concert and compare to the movie, they ripped the exact sound audio from the concert and insert it into the movie. So really, A Quiet Place should have won.
No they didn't reaped... Marc Martel did it..
They did rip the audio but they also added in real audience vocals (back in 2018 there was a contest called Put me in Bohemian where people sent in vocals of themselves singing songs from the Live Aid scene, and they mixed that with the audio from Live Aid)
First Man was robbed here
Bohemian Rhapsody was trash! Black Panther 100% deserved the award!
Yes or First Man
Eh..... HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA NO.
No...No..
