- My buddy Justin hooked me up with this 1947 JI Case VAC that his landlord just wanted gone. Can I revive it after sitting dormant for 30-40 years?!?

I don't know what you paid, but I think you scored big time. She looks good, runs good, drives good. CONGRATULATIONS.
It may sound like the old cliche, but they don't make them like this anymore! Good old American iron lives on!
✌🤠🇺🇸
When that baby started up as fast as it did my heart nearly skipped a beat
Randy, thanks for saving this case from the scrap yard and getting it started. It sounds really good and should be fun to drive. Blessings to you.
It’s awesome to see these old tractors being revived. They remind me of dragons when they belch smoke out the exhaust and roar to life!!!
We had one when I was a kid. I'm 71 and it was old way back then in the early 60's. We didn't work it, it was just a putt around the farm tractor.
I have a VAC 14 (1954). Very similar story. Enjoyed yours. Thanks from CA.
I have 3 VAC. One was my dad's first new tractor back in 1951. I bought a 1949 for $300 with the motor sized but just put some muscle to the crank and eventually got it turning and soon after started. It also runs great. Enjoyed your video
I had a 49 VAC and really enjoyed it. I live in an urban development and the neighbors thought I was nuts when I drove it around on the streets. With that split in the shirfter boot rain will go directly into the transmission so watch otu for that. Nice tractor!
Great feeling when these awesome pieces of history roar back to life. Thank you for saving this Tractor Sir.
I love this! It reminds me of my childhood, 1970’s era. My grandpa on my father’s side used farming equipment. Typically it was all bought used, he would let us kids drive it occasionally but it was work related and boy did we work!😉
First tractor I ever drove was a VAC in the early 1950s. It had three point hitch with the Eagle Claw hitches. Just looking at yours bring back memories.
Very exciting ! My first job after high school was, PARTS MAN at our local CASE Dealership. I sold lots of parts for those Ol tractors . Glad you got it running. 😊
Old tractors like it never die good job on it
I'm glad I found your channel. Good save. Keep up the good work
I have VAC's, mice tend to nest around battery & elect. switch area. I took an small plastic vitamin bottle with cap, punched some 1/8 " holes in it, filled with moth balls & leave in this area. Stopped my mice problems years ago.BTW good job, great video.
Nice save!
Drove 9ne when 12 yrs. Old. It was a few yrs. Newer. Good old tractor. Enjoyed seeing and hearing it crank and running.
nice recovery and score on the new case, looks like that field is calling it to rake the cut
Definitely saved from the crusher
Nice job being patient and getting a piece of AG history running again....they are great all around tractors...thanks for sharing your experience....
Wow, Don't know the actual time, but appears like only took a couple hours to resurrect from its slumber to be able to drive off under its own power. One can only guess with it up on blocks and the plugs not real tight, still having full antifreeze and oil, and a one owner family, and the seemingly good overall condition including paint. Must have been a slightly used and possibly rejuvenated by a previous family member.
It was a one-day project to get it fired up. Whoever put it up on the blocks cared about it. You don't usually see that!
well done that man.
Awesome job bud!👍
My uncle had one of these VAC's . We cultivated with it , raked hay ,pulled wagons. Even went out tbring in the cows for milking. Thanks for bringing back good old memories. Great job!
Good ole case. I run one of that style when I was young . I believe it might have been a size bigger or maybe newer. I'm 71 I was in my early teens. Sure brings lots of memories. Thanks for a great video.
I am amazed how nice the paint is and how well the blow by cleared up. Great find
Great Job. I wish I could find one as good as that.
Fantastic....I love seeing people save these old machines. Thank you for posting.
Nice one Randy, she's sweet as a kitten. You dropped on lucky with that. Keep them coming I enjoyed the video.
Nice little Case
Great job! She looks and runs like a top. Reminds me of my old 9N and me!
Great job on the case tractor!! nice to see old iron from the past running. thanks for saving the old girl.
It's just a little bit of so cool to see it crank right up! Lucky you
Looks like you got a good tractor thanks Randy
That first push button on the dash is an aftermarket horn button.
Tough little tractors Randy. I ran one More powerful than they look Well worth the effort to get in top shape. Congratulations.
P'fect save - well done
Looks like a great tractor to give a clean up only restore
This 1947 three wheeled case engine so reminds me of my two Case 450A crawler loader engine sound, David Brown machinery from the UK would be a identical replacement engine for the crawler loaders because the David Brown engine didn’t overheat like the Case engine would regularly happen. Once again great filming of this 1947 Case three wheeled tractor.
Now a little maintenance and cleaning the fuel tank and you have a nice little tractor nice save
Great looking tractor
Good little runner.
Neat little tractor and runs good!
Enjoy watching just subscribed watched 2 so far
Great video. Never messed with a Case VAC but I might have to see if I can track down a cheap non runner now.
Great job pal!
Nice little find!! My neighbor had one years ago with wide front end on it. Made it look really nice!
Outstanding 😊😊.
That's amazing thanks for posting
Good job Randy
Now that you know it runs, why not call up the former owner and see if he still has any attachments for it? A sickle-bar would be nice to have for trimming up around ditches out front.
Good Job of getting it running what's the future for it ? Clean the fuel tank and put it to work check the PTO do a full Lub and tune up try swathing hay with it
Nice work! Subscribed.
Wow sweet ole tractor
Loved it
Lo felicito ! Soy fanático de esos tractores (Argentina)..
Man, that's nice!
good one
Ive got a case 311b with what looks like the same family engine. Mine has the same oil pressure. 14 psi makes me a little nervous but I guess thats how they all run
You talked about hydraulics on that tractor , I did not see any couplings or 3 point! Is that lever the p t o on / off ?
Great old tractor. Couldn’t hear what you said at the end there, was there oil coming up through that rocker shaft ?
I would set those valves.
What gear do you have the transmission in when you're trying to turn the engine by rocking the wheel?
hopefully a "high" one
Fourth gear, that would be considered the road gear on these machines.
BETTER CHANGE ALL FLUIDS AND CLEAN TANK
👨🔧🚜👍👍
Did you change motort oil.
Do you have to have pto engaged for hydraulics to work?
I wondered about that, but I don't believe so considering the pump is right behind the main clutch.
@@Randys_Relics The hydraulics run from a pump under the belt pulley housing. So the PTO doesn't need to be on but your foot needs to be off the clutch
Do you ever call the seller and let them know you got it running?
Yes. I usually give an update if I know the seller. Not always possible in an auction situation.
I use to have a newer vac
Has a gas pedal on the floor. (right side)
Just a safety thing, but welding or torch on tires or tubes should be avoided. It has been known to be fatal.
OIL!!!!!!!
