OMG, Twisted was a huge tune in Nigeria. I wonder what happened to the lady who dueted with Keith on Make It Last Forever, the song Mariah Carey sampled?
Kut Klose was the best thing to ever happen to Keith Sweat. Athena's voice was definitely superior but I can understand why the girls felt that way. And why did Marty come at Athena that way. So rude! No one asked how you'd feel, sir.

Dang that's messed up about their situation. I surely just seen a video on tiktok with someone yelling up at the stage asking where kut klose was during his Twisted performance. I doubt he heard the question but I definitely wondered 🤔 where they were as well.

Great video RRG 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. This is why people rather go solo and release music on UA-cam and other social media platforms instead of signing a contract with a record label. Maybe sign up with a management/publishing company once you start getting off, but your career is based upon how much you work and promote yourself. That’s my suggestion for anyone who’s looking to get into the music industry, hell look at Erica Banks career. She started off on UA-cam and now she’s growing including Meg The Stallion until she made a mistake and signed up with a local Houston based label. Good job once again RRG
I still to this day have this cd. I Like, Keep On and Surrender is my jam!! Omg! You took me back! I’m not surprised how they were treated. The industry is dirty. Please do a story on Sunshine Anderson and Bilal. ✨💕✨
Enjoyed this video. You should do one for the 90s group Nuttin Nyce they only put out one album and was featured on A Lowdown Dirty Shame soundtrack. Ain't heard from them sense.
They say can’t get much for Black women, only Black men, on GoFundMe. Too bad, they couldn’t go to some industry true blues. Surely, they made a friend or two. .
Sold their publishing off for $1! That is so sad. It’s a very cutthroat business. These people really like to take advantage of the naïve and vulnerable who do not understand, through no fault of their own, the terms and conditions.
I have their Surrender cd. I would put their talent on par with SWV and TLC. I Like is one of my favorite ballads of all time. The vocals in the 1st verse could melt butter. The lead changes from Lavonn in the beginning to Athena at the 2nd verse but it is difficult to hear the change. For that reason I don’t think Athena was favored because her vocals stood out. There must have been some other reason. In any case it’s a shame they didn’t get to continue. They had great vocal harmony and the sound was polished. Also the cd leaflet is well done which makes it even harder to believe a record company let them slip through the cracks. They each gave thanks to god, their families, extended families, and all that helped them. Then finally they give thanks as a group. Kut Klose was a great group name. Reading through all of it, I get a sense that even as young ones they were well-grounded with good hearts. Also, Keith Sweat did not write all the songs on their cd. He co-wrote a few, they co-wrote a few, and others were written by other writers. Keith is listed as the executive producer of the cd.
I still bump my Kutt Close cd Had it for like forever.. My homegirl tried to borrow it a long time ago.. I was like that dude 😎 on that commercial.. "No my sister.. you gotta get your own" 😂
My god 😞 the Cemetary’s full of artists from the past and present who’ve been robbed by these wicked people in the industry. Seems like nothing changed and it’s an absolute disgrace. I’m definitely surprised 😳 RRG, not my Keith 🤦🏾♀️
Real talk, i still listen to this album 😩😩😩 It’s eff’d up when you have someone so on-trend behind you and “believe” in you- only to mess up your upward trajectory.
Very talented group of ladies. I hate how they got screwed over. Keith Sweat could’ve brought them onto Versus for a couple songs. “Lay My Body Down” and “Don’t Change” are also very dope songs off that same album. Here’s hoping they get another fair shot!
The industry is brutal! However, the type of disdain Keith is showing seems too personal. He gave one girl all the attention all while throwing serious shade at the other members...hmmm 🤔. Now, he wants no parts of any of them and refuses to speak about the entire group. Seems like a personal relationship went bad. Perhaps that is the root of why things happened the way they did. Mixing business with pleasure can turn into a bad deal. Also, when artists sign up under another celebrity, it never really ends well for the underling.

Crazy thing is he have no issue with Athena. I truly think they were messing around.
Factz!
Facts!!!!
I wouldn't doubt it
I wouldn't be surprised
So Athena got her back bussed out and the other two didn't comply. That's all I'm hearing 🤣🤣🤣
You know you wrong 😂😂
Maybe that's the tea Marty A. Johnson is going to spill on their next interview 👀😂
@@rrg Wrong or right? 👀😂😂😂❤️
@@rrg ooo you gonna link that on your page!
@@BrownHairedGal Subscribe to his channel (link is in the description box) 😘
Their song "I Like" is my jam and "All or Nothing" by Athena from Saved the Last Dance is one of my favorite songs.
I LOVE Kut Klose...Their cadence and tone was just something else...As soon as the first line of any song dropped, you just knew...Wooo...Very talented 💯🤌🏼
OMG, Twisted was a huge tune in Nigeria. I wonder what happened to the lady who dueted with Keith on Make It Last Forever, the song Mariah Carey sampled?
Me too! I've been wondering for years! Her name was Jaquee McGhee. Her voice was amazing!
RRG should research her. 👀
@@lilmama291 Agreed.
Kut Klose was the best thing to ever happen to Keith Sweat. Athena's voice was definitely superior but I can understand why the girls felt that way. And why did Marty come at Athena that way. So rude! No one asked how you'd feel, sir.
This one of my favorite rnb album of all times that album.is beyond a classic no skips at all I still listen to that album everyday I mean everyday
Been waiting for this video for years… but it took for them to come out and speak about it for anyone to even have any content or any insight on what’s going on.
I love this group so much. One of my top favs and I cannot WAIT for their 2nd album. I’m a huge fan and I miss them. Thanks for this !
They always deserved more!!!
(If they still have their voices, I am rooting for them!)
They do ❤️
They're touring now and still got the vocals
Hell they didn't use them lol they only had one album
I still listen to their music till this day! They made some classics
They have great spirits about everything despite being pissed on by another one of our legendary black male vocal artist, from the 80,s & 90,s. Wishing them well...
I always wondered what happened to them. They had such a beautiful and unique sound together. I still love their songs. These ladies had to so much talent, but that crazy twisted music industry is so toxic!
Thanks for watching ❤️
Damn Keith! 👀Wow! EVERYTHING is being exposed n I mean EVERYTHING!
THANKS RRG for a another great video!
Thanks for watching bestie!
Dang that's messed up about their situation. I surely just seen a video on tiktok with someone yelling up at the stage asking where kut klose was during his Twisted performance. I doubt he heard the question but I definitely wondered 🤔 where they were as well.
I loved them! Bought the album surrender back in the day. As we use to say, they were dope!!
@Natasha Charmaine. I still have the Kut Klose CD Surrender(1995) and I love it!
I don't know why they didn't sell much because today on UA-cam their songs have millions of viewers.
🌬️💨💨💨🤔 Hmmm..."I think" (speculate) that Keith Sweat was smashing Athena behind closed doors thus the special attention!🤷🏽♀️ The look in both of their eyes while they were on stage singing together was giving bedroom eyes!😅 It's just too bad that when he was through with her she was no longer of use to him and she was discarded like trash🗑️.
Whew Chile!!!😂
Wasn't he married to Lisa Wu at the time? lol. Maybe they just had good chemistry.
@@rrg 😁 That's true, but we all know these male entertainers who gets tons of attention from women are "complete-thots" while they have a whole wife or even girlfriend at home.🤣
I'm just talking 💩 RRG! 😂
Oh You Know He Was !! allegedly 😮🤣🤣
@@aundreshabazz9624 🤣🤣🤣Right "allegedly!" 😂
@@aundreshabazz9624 😭😭😭
I was waiting on this !! Ty RRG
Thanks for watching
These ladies were a huge part of Keith's success. I am sorry to hear what became of the group and pray they will get their album completed soon.
Perhaps his continued success because Keith Sweat was huge I. the 1990’s. I Want Her. Was Song or Record of The Year. It may have been R & B but it may have been Pop. I forget.
I forgot about Athena being in kut klose... I remembered her from the soundtrack on save the last dance (I ❤️ that song)
Been waiting for this !!❤️ Another great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
One of my favorites upon mini that were underrated within the 90s...... Such as Changing Faces...❤️✔️🕜
Things happen for a reason & a season. When the season is over, MOVE on with life……………..kut klose WAS a great group, respectfully 💜
Stay independent. It’s harder but it’s less BS!
❤️❤️❤️
Keith could have brought out Kut Klose and Bobby could have brought out Heart & Soul for that verses
That GoFundMe is about the same one year later 😢
They say can’t get much for Black women, only Black men, on GoFundMe.
Too bad, they couldn’t go to some industry true blues. Surely, they made a friend or two. .
GREAT VIDEO AS EVERY VIDEO! Thank you 🙏🏽 😊
Okay! Keith is definitely wrong for this! Kut Klose was 🔥🔥 I still have my CD 🙌🏾‼️ lol will definitely help towards their GoFundMe!
Athena cage is so underrated
Her vocals are phenomenal !
What happened to 8:12 ?? LMAO, sorry y'all we'll edit it out later 😘
We in here! Wassup RRG🤗
HEY BESTIE!
Sold their publishing off for $1! That is so sad. It’s a very cutthroat business. These people really like to take advantage of the naïve and vulnerable who do not understand, through no fault of their own, the terms and conditions.
They sell their soul thats shady music industry for you
I still listen to them on a regular 🥰🥰
I still bump my Kutt Close cd
Had it for like forever..
My homegirl tried to borrow it a long time ago.. I was like that dude 😎 on that commercial.. "No my sister.. you gotta get your own"
😂
Whaatttt?! Not our Keith Sweat 😭 smh
....ALLEGEDLY..... 😂😂
@@rrg Always 🤣🤣🤣
WHen the Sweat and Kut Klose videos were out, it did say 'featuring Kut Klose,' at least on MTV.
My god 😞 the Cemetary’s full of artists from the past and present who’ve been robbed by these wicked people in the industry. Seems like nothing changed and it’s an absolute disgrace.
I’m definitely surprised 😳 RRG, not my Keith 🤦🏾♀️
Real talk, i still listen to this album 😩😩😩
It’s eff’d up when you have someone so on-trend behind you and “believe” in you- only to mess up your upward trajectory.
Them girls are still Legends to me, always will be.
The vocals on the end of surrender to this day still give me chills . That song so 🔥
Very talented group of ladies. I hate how they got screwed over. Keith Sweat could’ve brought them onto Versus for a couple songs.
“Lay My Body Down” and “Don’t Change” are also very dope songs off that same album. Here’s hoping they get another fair shot!
"Got lawyers watching lawyers so I won't go broke."
You gotta think 5 steps ahead to keep yourself from being screwed
The industry is brutal! However, the type of disdain Keith is showing seems too personal. He gave one girl all the attention all while throwing serious shade at the other members...hmmm 🤔. Now, he wants no parts of any of them and refuses to speak about the entire group. Seems like a personal relationship went bad. Perhaps that is the root of why things happened the way they did. Mixing business with pleasure can turn into a bad deal.
Also, when artists sign up under another celebrity, it never really ends well for the underling.
Thank you for this great, informative video... These ladies are super talented!!
Keith owes Teddy Riley too hahahaha! For his first album lol
Why do people say stuff wi/ no back up?
They were fine as hell and still are
Kut Klose was undervalued and underrated
I’ve been listening to them every night at work since Monday. Glad to see a story on them
Hope you enjoyed it!
