Reacting to TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES (2003) | Movie Reaction - Розваги
I really appreciate that you kept going after 2. Most folks get intimidated by all the haters and stop there but 3 is an OK movie. Two was basically a perfect movie from beginning to end. It was never going to live up to that, but that doesn't mean it has no redeeming qualities at all.
Yeah man, I feel like 3 was a decent film. Now, the ones after this...eh.
@@StinkyGreenBud AHA! So 1 & 2 was "decent" flicks too?
@@dallesamllhals9161 literally didn't say that.
@@Cagon415 ..still - I asked? OKAY! Are they both below average then?
After 1 & 2 the 3rd was a huge disappointment I just decided not to watch any other sequels. Then about a year ago I changed my mind and watched the other 3 movies. They were so sh@it they made 3rd a good movie.
Dawn Marie is one of the very few who actually enjoyed this film. I'm so glad. Guilty pleasures are always fun.
I like it, similar to Dawn I didn't love it, but I enjoy it.
the next movies specially dark fate are even worse
I thought it was ok, but what was memorable for me was the ending. Most movies would have found a way to avert disaster, but this one embraced catastrophe.
Aside from the HORRENDOUS action sequence with the cars, it's not actually all that bad plot wise. But yeah in the end I'm never going to actually suggest watching 3 after 2.
@@Tekkarath Agreed. The remote control of the cars was seriously dumb. But, I really enjoyed the crane destruction. It was a pretty good "check out my home theater" sequence at the time.
Fun fact: the scene with the crane smashing into the building (a real building) was originally cut from the shoot for budgetary reasons. Arnie coughed up $2 million of his own money to finance the scene, feeling it was necessary to the chase scene.
I hope I meet Arnold while he's coughing.. maybe I can scratch a quarter of million...
Huge mistake.
@@Christobanistan Hey Claudius. You killed my father. Big mistake!
12:56 "That was bigger than I thought it was going to be".
"That's what she said".
😂😂😏
The confusion between Arnold sometimes being called a, "Cyberdyne Systems Model 101" and at others, a "T-800" was settled by James Cameron on the DVD extras - the metal endoskeleton is the T-800 and the outer skin covering is the Model 101. The combination of a T-800 chassis with a Model 101 skin is Arnold.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is really good -- definitely worth watching.
15:20 I loved the blooper of this scene from the DVD features
“Why me? Why am I so important”
“Because you’re John Connor…DUHH!!!”
Glad you did this, I always find it annoying when people say not to watch a particular movie in a franchise because everyone has different tastes, and even though it's not as good, it's still an enjoyable watch.
I hope you continue with the next three movies, Salvation - Genisys - Dark Fate, I think you'll like them.
I think you are going to get many views with this one, Dawn Marie.🙂 Most reactors stop at the second film, so there aren't many reactions for this film on UA-cam. I think the humor is pretty funny in this one. Also, I do like the upgrades they made with the Terminatrix (Yep, that is what she's called). Having her being made of both machine parts and liquid metal was a good idea. Also, this allows her to have body parts that can be used as weapons, which seems like a logical upgrade. The film does have some logic problems that you mentioned, but is still overall enjoyable. Great reactions to your third Terminator film, Dawn!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
There are currently 6 Terminator films and The Sarah Connor Chronicles T.V. Series that has 2 Seasons which I think totals 31 Episodes.
The Terminator (1984)
Terminator 2 Judgment Day (1991)
Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines (2003)
Terminator Salvation (2009)
Terminator Genisys (2015)
Terminator Dark Fate (2019)
I like to imagine that the last three of those don't exist.
The TV series is Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles (2008) and goes right after 2, being that it's two years after T2. It's very good!
This one was much better than most people give it credit for being. While not on the level of the first two films, it's a solid watch. Great reaction! :)
I've stated elsewhere, as a standalone film it's not bad. The city chase sequence is probably the best of the franchise.
This, I feel a bit the same about this movie and the Alien 3 movie. Neither are as horrible as people make them out, but when you're had 2x 9-10/10 movies in each franchise and the next one is a 6, maybe 7/10 the difference is just so stark it becomes, by association, "bad"
@@MrPozaidon it would have been exponentially more well-received if they just kept "3" out of the title
Yeah, for me, it's not that it's a BAD movie (a phrase WAY over used by internet know-it-alls), it's that it doesn't have a nice shiny ending like 2 did.
@@LtDan-rk4si I mean it's a movie about future robots time travelling and controlling other robots telepathically. Our grip on realism doesn't have to be so tight.
I think it works just fine with the first two. It just isn't as good. Genisys and Dark Fate were worse cases of franchise buffoonery. You can watch T1 thru T3 and you got a solid trilogy. Humanity will be victorious against Skynet, but as John said in this movie "something terrible has to happen first". Skynet was destined to take over, just as John was destined to bring them down.
I'm so old that I watched it in the cinema)) 20 years have passed damn it.
Extremely underrated movie.
Agreed
Only the Rated R is the best choice of Terminator franchise! T3 is my first Terminator childhood since 4 but it's on TV cable
Katherine captured the Terminator after it killed John in their future. As the new person in charge, she reprogrammed it to go back and protect not just herself and John but everyone else involved in the resistance. It's likely that John told Katherine a lot of things about the first protector Terminator during their time together, including the car keys in the visor, how he ordered it to not kill anybody, how Sarah died, the weapons in the casket, Katherine's father, things like that. And no, not every American knows how to shoot and fight, but her father was military and likely taught her well. Anyway, glad you liked it and I hope you watch the other films (not the TV show).
the TV show is better then any of the movies going forward.
Thanks for reacting to Terminator 3 and not as many other channels that just discard it. I like the concept of once you start a franchise you have to keep watching them until you can decide yourself that the franchise went totally wrong and it's not worth keep watching them. This way we can get reactions to not only "The good ones" but also the not so good.
Thanks for doing this sequel. So few do. And I agree with your assessment. I liked it too. As to the plot holes, they really permeate through all three movies and the longer the franchise goes on the bigger they get. And this is why I believe they decided to inject so much humor into this one. It was an acknowledgement that the time travel paradoxes had reached a critical mass and that the audience just needed to ignore them and have some fun.
Which I did for the most part, but the one place I still couldn't get my head around was the crane chase scene which was otherwise quite epic. But the one part of it that made no sense was the way the lady terminator controlled the police cars' throttles and shifters with a simple remote control. To do that in reality there would have had to have been servo motors attached to both. Other than that though, the movie was hilatious.
In 2003, electric assist power steering was just barely being phased in. There's a 3 phase power assist motor in part of the steering column. Pretty strong servo with its own control unit accessed by the serial data network in the car. Throttle by wire was already present, but you would not see the pedal move. The ABS system can apply the brakes, depending on design, but the pedal would not move. This was not common knowledge at the time, though.
@@vilefly Ok but that still doesn't explain how she was able to shift from Park to Reverse and to Drive via remote control.
@@itt23r Transmissions have been electrically shifted since 1996, but not into reverse. That has been manual controlled for safety reasons, so ya got me.
I also think it's better than the haters give it credit for. Also, it has one of the best chase scenes ever filmed.
Ok confession time; I love this movie, it's a guilty pleasure I revisit from time to time over the year's. Is it good, not really but neither is Cool World and the Adventures of Ford Fairlane, but I love those movies too. Is it an unnecessary sequel to a movie that came out year's earlier that tied the entire story up in a nice neat little bow (especially if you saw the extended version)? Yes, totally unnecessary sequel, obvious cash grab that pretty much retreads the second movie. I even passed on seeing this in theaters back when it released and my friends wanted to go see it because of how much I loved Terminator 2 and how it tied everything up so neatly. I eventually bought it when it came out and it was everything I thought it would be and summed up, but then that last half happened, and holy shit the balls of the team working on this to do Judgement Day at the end, it's still goof and redeems this movie completely for me. Again it's definitely not as good as T2 but it's a good watch for me personally, hope you appreciated it as well
Terminator 1 and 2 are excellent. 3 and 4 are watchable and quite entertaining. 5 and 6 are truly horrible.
Basically true.
I do like the idea of this film with the events of Terminator 2 with the Cyberdyne headquarters and all backup research being destroyed relaying the creation of Skynet and Judgement Day to 2004 creating a whole new timeline of future events. The T-850 sent back is from 2033 a year after it killed John Conner in 2032. So unlike the original timeline where Skynet was defeated in 2029 this new timeline features a Future War that began 7 years late in 2004 instead of 1997 and is still ongoing by 2033 in a world where John Conner died. The T-850 is of course an upgrade to the T-800 we see in the original films. Skynet had the extra years to upgrade their baseline Terminators compared to the original timeline where Skynet was shut down in 2029. There's also T-950 and T-900 Terminators in the T3 video game along with the T-X we see in this film Skynet is much more advantaged maybe learning from past mistakes in the other timelines. The next film Terminator Salvation is set in this new timeline where Judgement Day happened in 2004.
*Original Timeline*
Terminator: 1984 - Sarah Marked for Termination, Saved by Kyle Reese.
Judgement Day: 1997 - Nuclear Holocaust.
Future War: 2029 - Skynet Defeated, T-800 sent back to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor, Kyle Reese sent back to protect Sarah.
Terminator: 1984 - Loop around of Kyle and the T-800 landing in 1984 L.A.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
*New Timeline:*
Terminator: 1984 - Sarah Marked for Termination, Saved by Kyle Reese.
Terminator 2: 1995 - Stops T-1000 from killing John while also stopping Judgement Day and the creation of Skynet by blowing up all the research in Cyberdyne labs.
Terminator 3: 2004 - Revealed that Skynet was Delayed to 2004, John's future Commanders murdered by T-X, John and Kate retreat to VIP Bunker, Judgement Day Happens in 2004.
Terminator Salvation.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
*Genisy Timeline:*
Terminator Genisys - Can't reveal anything for spoilers
---------------------------------------------------------------
*Dark Fate Timeline:*
Terminator: 1984 - Sarah Marked for Termination, Saved by Kyle Reese.
Terminator 2: 1995 - Stops T-1000 from killing John while also stopping Judgement Day and the creation of Skynet by blowing up all the research in Cyberdyne labs.
Terminator Dark Fate - Can't reveal anything for spoilers
The whole building wasn't destroyed, only a couple floors. His computer at work and home, and the chip may be destroyed. But whoever "they" are that miles refers to when we 1st meet him, I believe they'd have all his research, even have his home computer bugged, backed up on other computers in the basement of the building, even offsite. This discovery is far too important to have everything on the one floor, in one building. Going by that, it would also explain why judgement day was postponed, so other teams could go over miles backed up research and start from there.
@@wolf9walker 100% Someone carried on his research which explains why the creation of Skynet was delayed for a few years. If everything was destroyed it would've taken much longer, who knows maybe Skynet would've never came to be.
If you pay too much attention to the little details in T3, you can see that Skynet (i.e. the screenwriting duo behind T3, T4, and Catwoman) has actually messed up the Terminator timeline quite a bit in this continuity.
- Sarah's tombstone says she was born in 1959. Considering that she was 19 in The Terminator, that would mean that the film occurred around 1978 instead of 1984.
- John says that more than 10 years have passed since the events of T2. That makes no sense if T2 happened in 1995 (as T3 is very clearly set around 2003-2004), but it tracks with T2 happening around the time of its release year of 1991.
- John also says that he was 13 during the events of T2, not 10. If he were born in 1978, then he would indeed be 13 in 1991.
Now, how did this backward shift occur? It was probably the result of more silly time travel nonsense, as Genisys would suggest. The TV show seems to get things a little more on track, though T2 happens in 1997 rather than 1995 in that timeline. Dark Fate is the only sequel that appears to follow the exact T1-T2 timeline, so it's possibly part of a loop that precedes T3.
You say original, but the timeline we start off with and follow for the films is already being impacted by travelers from the future, so there must logically be unseen timelines, or at least one, prior to T1 in which the tech is first invented and no future interference takes place.
Id suspect in that 1st "alpha prime" timeline John was just a happenstance hero, and the computers focused obsession on the "human leader" is the cause of this sort of perpetual prophecy.
If the computer had more critical thinking maybe instead of chasing one random person and empowering them with knowledge they should have just gone back a few weeks from defeat and quadrupled the guard at the time chamber building...
😅
@@mokane86 James Cameron has suggested that the initial timeline was one in which Skynet felt remorse after developing a conscience. As a result, it sent back Kyle Reese for the purpose of creating a hero to defeat itself.
We've yet to see that idea canonized anywhere, but it does track with some of the hints we've received in the sequels. If a trio of Arnie-shaped T-800s can learn the value of human life (typically by becoming a surrogate dad, it seems), maybe Skynet can, too. (I'd say a quartet, but the T3 CSM-101 appears to have its CPU switch set to Pun-Only.)
I think you are the best. You do what's in your heart. No one tells you what to do. The T3 naysayers truly don't affect ur decision. The movie is a good watch. Took me a couple of times to get past the changes as well, but really appreciated the entertainment value. Great job, as always, Dawn Marie.
I’m happy to see you watch this. It isn’t groundbreaking like the first or as special FX-filled as the second; but it is a nice wrap-up of the story. There has to be a war or there will be no Terminators, QED.
4:35 “Make em bigger.” Atta girl!
FINALLY someone watches past the 2nd one!! Watch all the way to dark fate they are all Awesome!!!!
As everybody else already said, Thank you for doing part 3! I always enjoyed this one, getting more of the story and the action is good.
I always liked Salvation too since we finally get to the war.
Salvation's not a bad film in the series. For me it certainly improves on 3.
I'm glad you enjoyed this one Dawn Marie. I've always liked it and I don't understand all the hate that it gets. Sure it's not as great as the first two but it's way better than the ones that came after.
A good laugh, and then Everybody dies : the most realistic Terminator movie.
This is the movie that let the franchise jump the shark.
This on is ok but yeah there was no need to make anything terminator after this. Sarah Connor being dead didn't make sense. And they brought her back in the later one's adding to the stupidest of the terminators that follows
when he plows her head into the toilet that shit had me cracking up.
It's a lot better than the third film in most trilogies. I have to say I truly enjoyed it - some really big action scenes and a nice tragic ending that brings you up to the start of the whole future war story. All in all, definitely a decent film. Glad you enjoyed it as well.
The reason Arnold doesn't kill anyone is that he was programed by John Connor in the future, and John remembered to tell him not to kill anyone from his remembered experience as a boy. He also remembered to tell him about car keys often being hidden over the sun visor, because he remembered that he didn't know that last time.
Sarah Conner Chronicles, YES PLEASE!
Great reaction Dawn Marie, yes not as good as the previous 2, but some great action scenes and effects, the female terminator was badass, just wish the script had been better, keep up the great work!
Where this movie finessed the trailer flip, _The Dark Knight_ just did the flip.
John recognised the computers as being ancient because his mother trained him to be tech savvy. Remember him scamming the ATM in 2?
Yes thank you for watching passed part 2. I truly hope you watch all the Terminator’s. The haters can just not watch, and the ones who enjoyed every movie can enjoy your reactions…
Yes!!!
True. I often have the feeling that those that accuese the 2+ Terminator films of plot holes did not understand the timeline(s) and the implications of the changed timeline. For example John Connor did not look like a leader in this film because he was of the correct age, but he grew up in a different environment (without the war and judgement day) and therefor was a different John Connor than the one of the other movies.
Am I the only one who remembers that people generally liked 3 and 4 until part 5 came out? It's very odd. And yes, that's exactly what happened.
@@jonalberts980 Yes, you're the only one. The original Terminator fanbase has been shitting on this garbage film since 2003. We didn't need to wait for the equally garbage Terminator: Salvation to come out 6 years later.
@@lonelyboy1977 That's unfortunate, because many Terminator fans enjoyed 3 and 4. But when such pieces of garbage like Genesys and Dark Fate came out people needed a James Cameron stopping point. James Cameron is actually a massive simp (and remember where you heard it this time).
There are additional movies in the franchise. "Terminator Salvation" (2009), "Terminator Genisys" (2015), "Terminator: Dark Fate" (2019), plus the TV series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."
Love the bird still singing/chirping after shoot out at the cemetery. Kinda funny.
4:11 (sickening tear)
“What did she just do?”
Well, you can see the hand going to the ladies neck…she literally had her throat ripped out
I think you’re right that John over the years told his wife about his terminator and the things they taught each other including the hidden spare keys to the car numerous times. The metal saw on the magnet should not have worked I agree with you on that too dear.
No one will ever be as great a terminator as Summer Glau as Cameron
Hear, hear.
Arnolds terminator in this movie knew about the keys in the visor, and other things, because his reprogramming was more complete than his reprogramming in the second movie.
People complain about this film... until I remind them of what Reese said in the very first Terminator movie:
Sarah Conner. "You're telling me it's from the future? And you are too?"
Reese, "Yes, One possible Future, I don't know I'm not good with Tech stuff"
Man gets absolutely destroyed by getting a hand rammed through his body. Dawn Marie: *i like that!*
A Great Apocalyptic Movie that Builds like a Orchestra to a Mad Crescendo is " Miracle Mile " , Awesome Reaction
Be advised, Dawn Marie, that Summer Glau(River Tam in Firefly) is in "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" TV series. So there is a connection between "Terminator" and "Firefly."
Yeah, Sarah Conner Chronicles was amazing!
This film doesn't get the tone of the franchise quite right, but there are some solid action scenes.
I've actually seen Sarah Connor's coffin from this movie up close, as well as some other props.
God bless you for doing the full trilogy
I wholeheartedly agree that the first two Terminator movies are the only "true" Terminator movies but I still enjoyed T3 and in glad there's finally someone who reacts to it
I love your wit and your reactions.
Sorry if my other comments here sounded critical. Just making a few points.
Keep doing what you do; you're awesome!
In the future when John's wife reprogrammed the Arnie terminator she turned on his learning CPU (the chip in his head) and taught him about where to get the keys in a car and the like before she sent him back in time. Think like if you went back in time from now to the 1980's. You would know what happens in Terminator 3 because you watched it when you were in your own time before you went back in time.
You can honestly say that the biggest VIP in the history of mankind is the one in the bunker in the end, since we know he's the one who saves mankind.
The girlfriend, Claire Danes starred & produced a long running series on Showtime called Homeland. She plays a CIA agent post-9/11. She’s a badass & the show is badass. One of the best TV series ever made.
A fantastic giant-vehicle chase & destroy scene. Dr. Silberman's return. Gary Sinese's wife as T3. What's not to LOVE?!!
Car keys in sunvisor - easily TAUGHT because this New T1 was trained. Obviously, all are...
(Looks at the box art when selecting this movie, asks) "I wonder if Arnie is in this?"
Terminator 3: Paycheck
My favorite part of this movie was the ending. I do actually enjoy the movie on the whole...but that ending...the hopelessness of it all. I'm glad it ended the way it did.
What Arnold was saying about him killing John Connor is that Skynet selected him to assassinate John because they knew he had bonded with T-101 Terminator (the Terminator from Terminator 2)
This is the last one worth watching until the newest one, Dark Fate.
The machine is a learning engine but in this case what it learned in T2 would've died with his elimination. But John Conner lived and maybe passed on some of the memories he had into the T2's programming (keys hidden in visor, etc.). IT still feels a little shaky on the logistics of time travel and whatever. Thanks for watching!
There are 6 terminator movies. The Film studio did T3, T4, and T5 without James Cameron or Linda Hamilton. james Cameron came back to write the 6th movie, "Terminator Dark Fate", which ignores the 3 studio movies (T3, T4, & T5) and instead picks up right after T2, forming a trilogy of "The Terminator", "Terminator 2" and "Terminator Dark Fate", so you can watch "Dark Fate" and then come back and watch the others later. Linda Hamilton also returned to play Sarah Conner in "Terminator Dark Fate".
T3 has a large number of plot holes and internal inconsistencies, while T1 and T2 instead had many small, subtle features based on careful thought (reese always drives with headlights, the flesh of the T-101 is rotting because Reese shot its heart in the nightclub, etc.). T3 also tries to retcon the chronology to allow for John being older without admitting that it would have to be taking place in the late 2000's or 2010. T4 and T5 get worse on those points, and try to make up for the poor writing with really good CGI effects.
"The Terminator" was the story of the Annunciation: the Archangel Gabriel (Kyle Reese) appears to Mary (Sarah Conner) and tells her that she will be the mother of the Savior (John Conner).
"Terminator 2" was the story of the flight out of Judea: Mary (Sarah Conner), Joseph (the T-101/800), and Jesus (John Conner) flee to Egypt to escape Herod's death of male infants order.
"Terminator Dark Fate" is the story of >SPOILER WITHHELD
another wonderful reaction. love seeing you laugh. great chuckle.
Yes hun. All of us can fly planes, and figure out how to turn on a particle collider too appparently.
So happy you decided to watch this because I've not yet seen a reactor to get past the second movie. I thought the movie was very entertaining and had a lot of impressive scenes. How about that crane chase down the highway!
Thanks for going for it for you this movie fits right in there with the first two in my humble opinion 😊
16:47 Arnie was programmed in the future to protect John & Kate, so he was programmed THEN not to kill humans before being sent back, instead of learning it in the past like in T2.
John showed him how to flip the visor to get the keys in the second movie.
I do recommend at some point the TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which ignores every movie after T2
It doesn't ignore T3, though I wish it had, because they still give Sarah cancer.
Apparently, Terminator 3, Terminator: Salvation, and Terminator: Genisys were set in alternative timelines, while Terminator: Dark Fate is a direct sequel to Terminator 2.
Kathryn Brewster programmed Arny not to kill because the girl Terminator was sent back to kill John Connor's lieutenants, and killing people could massively disrupt the timeline.
The plot hole was actually made in Terminator 2, when Arnold was sent back without already having that directive programmed in.
19:35 No, Resistance does not make their own terminators, they only make use of ones they manage to capture in the field. This one was captured after completing his mission. It also shows resistance being so starved of resources that they had to make use of him, despite all possible concerns.
One minor thing I dislike about this scene is it implies Skynet has a whole bunch of different Terminator models while pretty much all movies show Arny to be a mass produced stock model.
The reason 3d movie Arnie knows not to kill anyone is because Katherine probably had them program him not to, since John likely told her stories about the 2nd Arnie in all that time they were in the bunker, and also because it's probably common sense not to kill anyone and attract attention if possible. The reason the 2nd movie Arnie wasn't programmed not to, is because John remembered having to explain to Arnie not to kill and them bonding because of it. The reason 3d movie Arnie killed John was because he hadn't been captured and reprogrammed by the resistance yet, he was still a Terminator doing his job. The resistance captured him, changed his programming and sent him back in time.
Not sure if this was answered, but the Terminator killed John because it was in infiltration mode from Skynet, it was able to make its way into the human resistance HQ. John saw that model of Terminator and let his guard down which aided in the Terminator killing John. John's wife Kate was able to successfully have the Terminator subdued where it was reprogramed and sent into the past in order to try and keep John alive.
The deleted scene with Sergeant Candy is brilliant!
She's killing all of John's commanders
Arnie wasn't sent by John but he would have known by his experience in T2 that they needed to program a no kill order into any terminators code that they sent back, plus a lot of stuff to help it blend in too. Arnie terminated John (leader of the human resistance) as a machine Terminator, was somehow captured by the resistance, reprogrammed and sent to stop the female terminator.
Agree 100% and I think they created a female Terminator was another means to blend in and infiltrate the human resistance.
This is actually covered in the T3 Terminator games.
5:32 The skull in the water were not really there when John dropped his beer bottle in the river...the scene was used as a transition from present day to the future.
She pleased the male audience as well..."Trust Me"!!! Lol😂
You got it. Katherine reprogramed the assassin Terminator. Her and John probably spent the better part of a decade or two+ in the fallout shelter (eating food rations, some of which that must have been stored there from the 1950's), so they had plenty of time to talk about it, amongst other things, you know, preparing and all, []:-). The real unanswered questions to me are, which timeline was the 3rd Arnold sent from, and which timeline did he get sent to, and maybe these choices were intentionally arrived at. I think 1-3 are on near equal footing. I like all three a lot. Great reaction!
I really liked it and thanks for the reaction!
New subscriber 🎉🎉🎉 Today we call Skynet "The Cloud" 13:05 Of all the Terminator movies, that was Arnold's favorite scene
I will say there’s entertainment in watching the movies and I like to see anything past terminator 1&2 as alternate universes for what if it kept going after and 1&2 as canon. Certainly in T salvation there’s cool robot designs. Dark fate was the closest they got to bringing it back but feel free to to watch them all because like me I just need to see for myself.
I remember listening to the DVD commentary track for this and the director rationalized this movie's existence by saying that the events of Skynet becoming self-aware and starting the war would still happen.
Of course the war would still happen.
Judgment day is inevitable! 😁
There must logically have been some "alpha prime" timeline we are not privy to where John Conner was fathered by some regular joe and Dyson or some other guy created AI tech without future parts.
The Machines basically turn JC into humanities messiah by focusing on that happenstance leader instead of shoring bitself up in other ways with their ultra powerful time tech...
😁🤷♂️
The look on your face on the thumbnail perfectly sums up how I feel about this movie.
This movie isn't bad, it just isn't necessary. It's like if an epic play ends, the curtains close, the audience gives a standing ovation and starts to leave, but then the curtain opens again and a narrator is like "But then... 25 years later!" People watch from the aisles like "Why are they doing this? We're done."
TOTAL sense, Miss Dawn! Good on ya :)
The best part is the ending. It took some guts to end it like that. And they pulled it off well.
T3 is a good movie! Each movie answers questions from the previous one plus it has better stunts!! Watch Alien 3! It’s a must see movie
They came in bubbles last time. They looked like pure energy rather than metal balls
Wait, seriously? The skulls weren’t in the present, they were in the future 😂
The last terminator wasn’t taught about the sunglasses, at least we were never told if he was. Maybe future John told him. Maybe future Kate told this one. Or they see them as useful for not looking conspicuous
Not sure why you’d think the events of the second movie didn’t happen
Presumably this terminator was instructed by future Kate not to kill people. Or it’s just part of his reprogramming
In the future, this terminator was sent by Skynet to kill future John. They chose the Arnold appearance so John would be more trusting of him bc of the one from the last movie. He succeeded, then future Kate reprogrammed him and sent him to the past
I love this one.
It has some definite plot inconsistencies, and poorly-integrated comedic elements, but I really liked the ending, fight scenes, and special effects.
Plus, hot naked female terminator? Hell yeah!
🎵🎵That… funky man, Funky funky…. That fun… key man…🎵🎵
Next is Terminator Salvation, my personal favorite of the movies. It's in the time of the war between the humans and Skynet
Ye. Salvation is the only good after 1&2.
Great job Dawn Marie! Just about the last BIG action movie before CGI was used for everything. CGI was used in this film but a lot of it was done the old fashioned way. The lorry driving down the street tearing everything up was a real lorry really tearing things up. Lots of the action sequences were real things on film not computer generated. They spent months building sets just to wreck them when it was time to shoot the scene.
Big Timeline mistake: In the original Terminator film, The T-800 (Arnie) and Kyle Reese arrive in the past...the date is May 12, 1984...at the end of the film, pregnant Sarah is recording messages to John and she says "... in the few hours we had together we loved a lifetime's worth..." So if John was conceived on May 13...by adding 40 weeks, that would make his birthday February 16, 1985. According to the police computer in T2, it shows us that he was born February 28, 1985...close enough.
T2 takes place in 1995 (2 years before Judgment Day). However at the beginning of THIS film, during John's voice-over intro, he says "They tried to murder me before I was born. When I was 13, they tried again." Secondly, Kate Brewster asks John "what happened to you? In the middle of 8th grade you just disappeared...this would ALSO make John 13 in T2...which would make T2 taking place in 1998...one year AFTER Judgment Day.
Error #2 - Arnie says to John after John asks, "Do you even remember me?"..."That was a different T-101"...although Arnie is a Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 (CSM-101) he is a T-800.
Movie franchises reach a point were either they embrace the ridiculousness or they die, the creators of the fourth Terminator (Terminator Salvation) failed to realize that but the fifth (Terminator Genisys) and to a certain extent the sixth (Terminator: Dark Fate) got it, or maybe it was just that there was no Arnie in the fourth.
I watched a video recently that kind of explained why the teeth are real, and it made sense. When a terminator is trying to stay hidden among humans, the only part under the skin that would be visible by humans would be the teeth. If the teeth were metal, they would easily be identified as being a machine. And this sort of brings up how much more terrifying the terminators are - they need a human being's actual teeth in order to build another terminator.
"You remind me of my mother," the best line in the movie!!! Sarah Conner.
The idea for the design of the terminators is they are supposed to look like dead bodies, as a form of psychological warfare.
I visited the studio that did the special effects and they had the coffin on display. They let me hold the Oscar they won for something else.
