It's always great to get awesome cards. The icing on the cake though is giving your money to a genuine, nice dealer, which you did here. Enjoyed the interaction.
Interactions handled like a true Hobby President! The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh, yes! I was in a hospital bed for about a year and watched that movie over and over, such a fun one and unlike anything else.
Fantastic cards John! Also bringing your wife to a card show is underrated, hope she enjoys going with you as much as mine does with me. Lucky guys we are!
Great footage from the show! Those are four solid additions to your collection. Very nice cards! You really had me going in the beginning with the $12 bit😂. Congrats on the new cards. Thanks for the video and thanks for sharing!
Kudos to your wife John, that’s the best video production you’ve ever made. Very clear, didn’t make me dizzy…Gem Mint…and great pickups, what did you really pay…LOL
Mr. Mangini - I did not realize you were in my hood today! I still wouldn’t have been able to drop by the show to see you but I do hope to do so next time you’re in town!
I can't believe you weren't recognized. One with one of the finest collections. Sad the hobby has come to loud mouths on UA-cam being the ones loathed after. Hope to run into you at a show
Talk about a solid dealer. It's fun to see the discussion and where your eye goes. You are right, that Grove caught my eye right away. Four for four though, great deal!
Hi John, I have been to that show numerous times and yesterday I decided not to go. I'm sorry that i missed you. You picked up some awesome cards. I cannot wait to see them on your next video.
Congrats on some amazing $3 dollar card pick ups. Maybe you will come to the Mid-Atlantic card show one day. In Maryland. But it's about 30 minutes or so from Annandale, VA.
Looks like a good time. Jake, myself and some buddies went to the show in Hickory and it was a complete bust. There wasn’t one full vintage dealer there. We had a great time as friends but it wasn’t the show to go and buy stuff.
That 1955 Harry Agganis is somewhat sought after and can bring a price well beyond some HOFers and most non HOFers. Tragic death. I think that is his only card Topps made. He played basketball, football, and baseball in Boston. He is in the College Football HOF.
another note I’d like to throw out there.. I kinda think I have all the cards I want.. its hard to find cards I want at a show I dont have.. I’m usually looking for something I’ve not seen before..is that a thing ? I did not buy anything in the last 3 shows I”ve been to ???? what is up with that ??? my next show I’m going to is philly show in march.. will I find anything ? not sure ??
oh man I was at that show today and did not see u :( I arrived at 12:30pm for about 45 minutes… would have enjoyed saying hello to you and ask if u r here to see some baseball cards… Its a monthly show but pretty small… assume u were in the area and dropped by as that is not a show for a long drive ??? however, the chantilly show is in april and one to be at.. very large... hope u come sometime to that one and can say hello to u...
A tale of two dealers in this show: One who sat all the time, ate and drank and didnt look interested. Then, there’s the guy who stood up, was as engaged as his customer and engaged in conversation.
I mean if I was a vendor, at a card show. And someone was recording the interaction. It would make sense to be engaged in conversation. You know who are the genuinely nice dealers are when the camera is off.
@@ACD1994Every vendor should be engaged with a customer regardless of if they are being filmed or not. It’s called being nice and not always about the money…….
@@TheCardDeal At my local card show. The vendors are treated kindly by the organizers. Provided free food. Pizza, Pie, Coffee, Donuts. I don't have any issue with them eating. As long as they wash and dry their hands..
I used to get that feeling, too. But, after having some negative experiences with card dealers. Either rude or delusional, it becomes, a bit easier I think, having conversations with dealers who are genuinely wanting to not just be in for the money, but also willing to talk, or be of help.
See John ,your my age and what irritates me is when these dealers start looking on there phones to see when and what one has just sold for , who the F cares ,i am trying to buy this one, thats why it was easier back in the day , no one had a smart phone
You look like you should always have a cigar, not smoking, but holding. Quick question Mr President, are there any hard holders for exhibit cards? Like the magnetic type?
That was so much fun to watch. You had very respectful interactions with the dealer, and you end up finding some goodies for your collection.
The president out amongst the people. I like it. I like the cards you were looking at even more!
That was fun! If those guys only knew who they were talking to.
It's always great to get awesome cards. The icing on the cake though is giving your money to a genuine, nice dealer, which you did here. Enjoyed the interaction.
Great cards! Always the best dressed person at the show! 😂
looked like a pretty good selection of vintage, $12 well spent 👍
Wonderful relaxing video tour with legendary cards! This reminds me of the famous Steely Dan line "That'll be the day I go back to Annandale."
Interactions handled like a true Hobby President! The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh, yes! I was in a hospital bed for about a year and watched that movie over and over, such a fun one and unlike anything else.
Great camera work😂can’t wait to see you guys and fantastic cards….everyone is a Yankee fan😜
Fantastic cards John! Also bringing your wife to a card show is underrated, hope she enjoys going with you as much as mine does with me. Lucky guys we are!
"The back is off-centered"
I don't know why but that line had me rolling. Love seeing interactions with dealers.
Haha. He was building up the centering so much. I had to bring him down a notch.
Great conversation with that dealer John. Hope you take the first lady to a nice dinner after the card show 😎

Wow, John, fantastic cards you picked up. Thanks for letting us tag along. We are all in agreement that you should keep your videographer!
Thanks. I’d let her know but then she’d want a pay raise.

Just had Korean BBQ in Ellicott City!

Really thinking hard about buying a 1955 roberto clemente sgc 2. Wabts 1300 hopeing to get it for 1100. Love vintage stuff
Sweet pickups John. Love how your wife buys in, 12 dollars. You are the best negotiator in the hobby, hahaha

I would say so. 4 monster cards, great gets my friend.

Great episode. I hope to see more of the same.
Thanks. I’d like to do more of these.
This was terrific, I got such a kick out of your wife with the $3.00 a card schtick!

Hell of a deal for $12!! 😆 😆
John is the Great One! Thanks John Mangini!
A '52 Topps Willie Mays! 🤩
The Greenberg and Dickey is an awesome grab.12 dollars well spent
Looks like fun, have not been to a 'good' card show in a good while.
6:49 you got me there! 😂 I thought you finally became one of those centering snobs? 🙀
Haha
Awesome video. I loved this.
That Dr j rookie looks awesome! That was great being able to follow you around in a card show. Thanks for sharing, John!
Great deal for $12! Your wife took some great video.
Enjoyed this. 👍
Thanks
Sioux Falls card show next weekend, i can't wait!! I'll ask her, but I'm pretty sure my wife won't go. 😂😂

I agree $12 is a good deal 😂
I thought so

What'd you buy! Disappointed!😂😂😂😂 If you took that deal at the end, you pick up some amazing cards!
I’ll be showing them on my video today. $12 was a steal!
Here’s my question. Does the shirt under the blazer have sleeves? Smart money is saying no.
