That wall of Sega is beautiful *sheds manly tears* Ya know, in all honesty, I see videos like this and they don't actually help me more then they do discourage me because I see how far away I am from said goal by comparison lol. BUT, I enjoy you as a youtuber and thus am always happy to show my support by watching a video and leaving a thumbs up lol. regardless, good on you man for this marvelous collection. I hope someday soon you achieve your dream and proudly display your achievements in a museum.
I'm not going for any complete game collections. However I am trying to collect all of the SEGA All-Stars NTSC games for the SEGA Dreamcast, as well all the games for the PS1 NTSC Greatest Hits versions of games. For a gamer like myself who doesn't have a lot of disposable income, working on smaller more attainable collections within a specific console's game library is the way to go. Another thing I like about collecting for the SEGA Dreamcast and PS1 is that the old cracked & scuffed up CD cases can be changed out rather easy by purchasing new CD jewel cases. As long as the manual, back artwork, and game are not damaged or scratched up the games in those library's can be in like new condition by simply swapping out the CD cases.
You mean for American? I'm English and our PS1 cases are fat and PS1-only. Not CD cases like the American. I didn't know about the different case types until a few months ago! Sometimes I think the American version is better since it's smaller and the artwork fits better in the case, but the PAL fat, PS1 cases are just amazing.
Have you tried reaching out to Nintendo of America or Sony or any of them about helping fund a museum? I bet they would love to help showcase their history in full box sets. You're a beast man. Good luck and keep up the great content.
I'm currently going for a complete Wii U set.. There are some really obscure titles that, like you said, just never show up for sale. Which leads me to my tip - DO YOUR RESEARCH! Find out what those games are and put them on your radar! I've passed on games for sale and later found they were extremely uncommon, only to go back and they are gone. Knowledge is power!
That's something I'm always concerned about. When you get into collecting anything, you eventually end up with a *huge* collection. What I concern myself about is if you have to move to a new home and the struggles of packing all of that, something happens and you have to sell and _purge_ a lot of the collection, and then later wanting to rebuy them, and then there's the issues of a house leak.
Thanks for making this video! I’m about 30 games shy of completing my R1 Vita collection (not including upcoming LRG and Strictly Limited releases). Living on an island, it can be tough for me to do game trades/deals in person. So, as a result, I’ve been relying on Facebook groups and ebay for acquiring the majority of my collection. If I ever decide to go for a complete set of another console, I’ll definitely consider buying more game lots as you suggested. Thanks again!
Wow thank you, it's like you read my mind! Just bought a SNES Classic and it sparked my love for games all over again, grew up with Genesis games so I think I want to start there or at least get my favs! 😁 Congratz on your amazing collection! 👾🕹

I'm going for a full Eur/USA set for the Game Boy + label and country variations and the odd Chinese and Japanese games as well. I only need 1 more for my full set, the variations will take quite a bit longer to do though! There is not a definitive list to work from so I put in hours upon hours of searching and researching.

I’m collecting for my Wii U. My reasons for doing so are because most games are super cheap right now and not many were sold so I feel like the value for then will go up in due time. Also the console is super under rated and has great games.
My goal is to complete a Dreamcast collection only official US release. Started last year at the Midwest Gaming Classic hope to continue this year. What was the hardest game for you to find?
I started collecting when it still was "cheap", however I never went for full sets. I like to have physical copies of games that I like and also a couple of "weird" and obscure systems. Not going for a complete set, have to prioritise my finances on University, (I do have just over 1000 games though,) but I do collect Gameboy (DMG, Color, Advance) games in the box. Don't have much, 60 in box across the three handhelds in total, but trying to do it without spending large amounts of money has been enjoyable. That and I try and finish the games I specifically look out for before getting another one. Purchased Sonic Advance complete yesterday, so looking forward to playing and eventually completing it. Great video! :)

Store owners who own collections often have to sell them when stock runs low. If you open up a store than you would be selling games not collecting them. When you open a game museum, the museum owns the games not you ;)
It isn't just buying games people being flakey, that turns off people. I think it goes for everything in life. Your word has got to mean something. If you agree to sale or buy or meet someone, and have set up a time to meet someone, if there is an issue where you can't meet or whatever, jusr communicate. Don't just leave someone wondering where you are when you agreed to meet up at a specific time, you end up being a no show. I can't tell you how much that has happened to me by younger people between 18 and 24 on OfferUp or LetGo.
@@dossa1275 Well, I think Bill Gates owns part of da Vinci's Codex (a few pages, that is) and it cost him 12 million. 12 million for some old paper! But, it is da Vinci, after all, and Bill Gates kind of has money.
Doesn't that mean you have over 30,000 video games and hold the world record (assuming over 30 complete sets and 500-1,000 games for each library on average)?
I bought my Sega Master System in a lot for just $60 and I was able to make my money back by selling two games that are very rare and expensive. So I have $460 worth of Sega Master System stuff and made $160 for selling 2 games.
My mission on gaming is not to complete for any consoles. Reason why is that 70~80% of them are trashed and shovel ware. I just get the top notch games for each. Who would want a variation of sports games for the same system?
Unfortunately, none of these tips really help me. I’m in a bigger city (San Francisco) and there are no retro game stores here because renting space for a niche store is way too expensive. No video game conventions at all. The closest retro game collection is 2 hours away from me in Sacramento, which I went to and had lots of fun (even met Radical Reggie!) but for the most part, eBay is my only good option for retro gaming.
I think people are more than satisfied with the selection of modern games with digital downloads of various classics. Emulation is another thing with people selling those consoles with “over 3,000 games” and stuff like that, it’s a lot to store old cartridge games let alone all those CD and DVD cases. I know I’ve been lucky to find stuff at thrift stores and when I get the chance for a flea market run but I’ve never really aimed for a complete system specific game collection myself, I just want the games that I want to play or focusing on certain titles like the “Fatal Frame” series which I’ve done a multi-award winning web series on. I’ve just recently gotten an English language box for “Fatal Frame 4: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse” and a store promo version of “Fatal Frame 2”. Overall, it depends on what people want and how they feel about it because it is a pretty cool endeavor and, based from my collecting experience, fun! I’m looking forward to the video game museum when it comes and I’ll keep an eye out for a “Stadium Events” box wherever I go just in case. :)
This should be helpful. I'm going for a couple myself.
Man this gets me excited! Can't wait to see these full sets! Especially the Sega Saturn set! Hope your having a good Sunday!

Ninja-X3 what were the two games?
@@Darko1226 Montezuma's Revenge and King's Quest. Both were complete in box.

Wow crazy to think that your basement is worth over 300,000 in video games!!!!!!! Hopefully you have amazing insurance!!!!!!!
Knowone can compete with the last gamer.
Love IJH. Such an amazing collection and seems like such a nice dude. His voice is really similar to John C Reilly’s. Great videos!
You are just showing off
Jacob Baranowskii would too I bet it’s a crazy feeling to have every game die a console
