      I would always encourage viewers to pause the video so they can have time to repeat what I say. This is a great idea.

    Is their a way to know which verb to change to i or ei because they look the same
    Example: nehmen will be nimmst (i)and
    Sehen will be siehst(ie)
    How do we know the verb should be with i or ie

      Nope. Mostly just memorize them as you encounter them.

    Hello
    First I want to thank you for your amazing tips and information .then I want to ask you to help me with this sentence :Die Bauer Stoßen die Bohnenstangen in die Erde .Where is the Dativ case in this sentence .

    • @MrLAntrim
      @MrLAntrim  3 роки тому

      There is no dative case in that sentence.
      Die Bauer - subject (nominative)
      die Bohnenstangen - direct object (accusative)
      in die Erde - prepositional phrase (showing change in place, accusative)

    Two short comments:
    1) In case of backen you also find the regular forms du backst and er backt.
    2) The verb wachsen (to wax) uses the no stem change in contrast to wachsen (to grow). Er wachst die Ski. Du wachst den Boden. The same is valid for the transitiv verb erschrecken (to scare somebody). Er erschreckt seine Mutter. but Die Mutter erschrickt. (The mother is startled.)

      1. Thank you. I definitely should have mentioned that one in the video. It does weird stuff in the last tense too, so maybe I'll put that in a future video.
      2. There are several Verbs that are either or based on either how they are used (transitive vs intransitive) or there are two different verbs with two distinct meanings that have different forms but the same infinitive form. That I feel deserves its own video. The verb fehlen vs empfehlen and befehlen would be another example. Er fehlt uns heute. vs Er empfiehlt die Spätzle.

      @@MrLAntrim 1. Some verbs experience a transition from a strong verb to a weak one . Backen is one of them. Melken is another one. Languages are alive and permanently changing. Interesting to observe. In English you can observe simimlar transitions. Dreamed/dreamt, llearned/learnt.
