"if something speaks to your soul, even if you don't know why, it's worth putting it in your journal. Everything that you like is worthy."
    That was beautifully inspirational.
You just inspired me to rip pages from magazines in waiting rooms.

Oh how I wish I had known about this when I was young. I think of all the many, many things I've forgotten because of bad memory. It would have been so fun to have a bunch of full journals to look at now. But you have inspired me to start now. My grandchildren are still young so perhaps I can still create a few journals with memories of me for them after I'm gone. Thanks so very much for this lovely, inspiring video!

Same problem here, all my precious pictures are in boxes and sometimes its even hard to remember which one of my children is on the picture. :)
I always tell the children, do something with pictures , paintings and other things from the children. It is the only thing I regret now that it is somehow too late.
But I make a journal about me, my thoughts , old familypictures (there are not many) . And I do a journal about the things I do now with the grandchildren.
But yes, I should have done(known) it before..........

Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for making this video. It's been saved in my "inspiration" playlist for a while now. Two Christmases ago you inspired me to hang on to a gift tag from my grandma, with her handwriting on it. That was actually the last Christmas we had together before she passed, so having that tag taped down is the most meaningful thing in my journal so far. I wouldn't have even thought about saving it if it wasn't for your videos.

I really enjoyed this journey through your journals. Traditionally I have been a writing type of journal user. Then a while back I saw a written journal combined with doodling. I LOVED it. I see so many recycled journals that are lovely, but the applied use of them hadn't been as practical as what you have here. I knew I wouldnt make use of it in those ways, so I have limited my use of recycled art to making greeting cards. I really love your ideas! I feel like I have finally found a way to use art journals in a way that appeals to me in this video. I think I like it because it is journaling, smashbooking, scrapbooking and memoirs all rolled into one.Thank you so much for posting it! I will now go binge on the rest of your videos!!

This is inspirational. The best part is that you take bits from your every day life and record your journey. This is beautifully done. Thank you

Thanks for such a nice demonstration of how to use our journals. We are leaving bits of history behind when we journal. I am blessed to have my Mother-in-Laws scrapbook/journal that she made in 1941 where she documented her trip to NY as the winner for Nebraska of a DuBarry Cosmetics contest. She actually won the Contest but she has pictures of some of the ladies and comments on what the hair dresser said to her about her beauty. She posted Play Bills from the Broadway shows they went to. She talked about the trip out and then also put in all the magazine ads that displayed her after she won. It is a treasured keep sake. Sadly we have no one to pass it on to when we are gone, so I hope someday down the road someone sees it, and recognizes what a treasure it is. I displayed it at a family reunion last summer and it was the hit of the event. Thanks again for your inspiration and reminder that our journals are important representations of ourselves.

I've actually made two journals with your style, and believe me, I was "struggling" to make it, but enjoyed every second of the moments! I'm so touched by the way you put your "children" in your journals; they are so beautiful, like mom! I hope you continue to design journals for us to enjoy with, and, of course, for your enjoyment!!! My blessings towards you, and your endeavours!!! Thanks again!

I get a little flustered when I can't do those perfect calligraphy or font styles like all the other instagramm-able ones. Beautiful video. My maternal grandmother wrote the details of her day in journals purchased for her as gifts. My mother & I are blessed to have some of them and this video has inspired me to read them. Paternal grandmother purchased a specific yearly diary in book form that was sold at the old Woolworth drug store. I did not find any when I cleared out her condo after her death BUT I did find several 3-ring type notebooks we used in school when I was in high school where she jotted down info after seeing her doctors, etc. I do have those as well. I am a writer and began keeping little diaries with the cute locks when I was in elementary school. I continued in various forms through my life and do have those as well.
One of my "careers" was teaching application software, including the operating system DOS, to adult non-credit class students when the first IBM clones came out in the mid-80's which launched me into the information age. Way before the advent of "blogs" there was a site called "Open Diary." I enjoyed it immensely; one could decorate their diaries with various artwork, fonts, music - all done with HTML before "drag and drop" artwork. I began writing in the 80's and through it have met friends with whom I am still in contact. Although that my diary still exists at that site, I discovered "Bullet Journals" that appeal to my minimalistic lifestyle and have been experimenting with it for the last year+ The end of last year I stumbled across junk journals and, although I love their beauty & creativity, I'm not artistically-inclined. THIS VIDEO pulled everything together in my mind!!! There are no rules - I can combine my bullet lists, thoughts, appointment schedule WITH clippings and photos I've kept for decades. I am so excited and, again, thank you for these ideas!!

What you are saying about collage is so true! I noticed that, for example, I would have totally choose that glittery golden circle from HAIGH'S for my collage because I love bright symmetrical things, but you choose a different one. Clearly, there's something about it that resonates withing us, even if it we don't think about it.

Johanna THANK YOU for this video. Some how it gave me permission to record in ways other than lengthy written entries. So many great ways to utilize a journal. ❤️

This is a most inspiring video! Thank you so much for sharing it. I've been creating journals for two years, but this video is a quantum leap for me when it comes to being inspired! I've always done a single signature, but this encourages me to really try to create multiple signatures, so I need to check out your other videos for "know-how."

Wow you've completely blown my mind! How beautifully you create these wonderful journals. You have made the connection I needed regarding the purpose of them. When I have this, it seems more genuine. That is how I create anything with a purpose. When I don't have that it becomes too out of focus. I'm all over the place. I usually create jewelry and have been in a long slump with it. Your video got me out of this slump. Thanks alot

I like all your advices and tips in this video. Your journals are so chunky and I love it. I haven't made a jj like that because I am just a beginner but I made a mini real "junk" junk journal. I have kept many paper souvenirs that I could include in my future jj. Thank you for sharing.

I truly appreciate how you "scripted" your video. Nothing makes a video bumpier than the narrator losing track of what she was saying, struggling (sometimes for 30 seconds or more) to find a word or rambling off topic. This video was inspiring, informational and entertaining.

I find it so relaxing to just listen to your videos. Today I was really stressed out and overwhelmed by having to be creative as a part of my job. So this video calmed me down and restrained my urge to do something creative just for myself again. Thank you :)
