Use notebooks to learn a new language! And a journal to write in about your language journey. Because language learning really is a journey and totally worth it! Not only for speaking the language, but also for understanding people in general better. Language can teach you so much!! Stuff like, listening and understanding people better, what are they taking about, what do you feel? How do you really express yourself and what do the things you say really mean? This doesn't only include foreign languages, but also your mother tongue.
I write my journal in English (not my mother tongue) and every few months I go back and correct everything. It really boosts my motivation to learn more, because sometimes you can feel like you aren’t making progress, but then you go back and you realize how much better you’ve become. That and watching movies is what helped me learn this language most, and now I know it almost as well as my mother tongue (Italian).
I am sitting watching this, and my jaw is dropping over the beauty of your writing, the organisation of your life, your commitment to recording your life, ... did I comment on the organised nature of your life???? Crazy organised! And so beautiful and pretty - lovely heading and so on. I covet your creativity!
This is basically how I write my journal every night! It totally helps beat down my depression because I find constructive ways to think about my life, and be more kind to myself. It makes me more productive and progress oriented.
This is a really good idea as it makes it easy to refer to your book of success when completing job applications and answering interview questions. I like to write down challenging moments and what I learned from them as well
I use one of my notebooks for book reviews. I use it to remember the lessons I learned from them, what I thought of the book overall, and/or quotes from them that stood out to me.
The Favorite Things notebook is such a great idea for those who struggle with life and/or depression and need reminders on reasons to keep going. It could be a thing to work on during good days and when the bad days roll in, to read.
You can also use a notebook as a dream journal! In the morning, quickly jot down the dream(s) that you remember. Even if you can’t remember any dreams, write: no dream today. It’s really fun to do and really cool to look back at them!
what a wonderful video - thank you! I've kept a journal for 43 years now (I'm 57, started at age 14, just before I started high school) -- I've played with nearly every type of notebook you mention, in one form or other and for varying lengths of time -- some fall off then cycle back up -- they're ALL wondrous fun while doing them and then going back to them. Journaling is the one thing in life I feel like I'm a 'master' at, and I say that loosely, as it is always evolving along with me.
This video just came up in my recommendations, and I'm upset it didnt come earlier. This is the video I've been looking for. So simple, straight to the point, beautiful notebooks, amazing ideas, and so many plausible moments to stop and get art inspiration. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

An extra idea As a new mom, I'm journaling every day for my son. I've always wondered how I was as a kid. I thought it could be a fantastic present for him to have a journal about his early life. It's also a very challenging long term project!
I've seen many videos for various ways to fill up notebooks. You're video is the only one I found extremely useful and gave me motivation and confidence to actually start on my empty notebooks.
So late, but I think you should try a Bullet Journal without all the (basically) useless stuff like thousands of details, draws, colors and things that only make it a waste of time everytime you want to write something. I tried to do the typical "artist bujo", and it wasn't practical at all. Instead I tried wome minimalistic and more "messy", I just love it.
I literally have a small library that accommodates all sorts of diaries, notebooks and planners. They are so beautiful, I can barely come up with something to use them for. I regularly answer questions on how to write a journal, but making use of the ones sitting out there is a big deal for me. These ideas are really helpful and easy. Plus, it saves you some money for the long awaited accessories you wanted; however for me, it's going to be just another stationary I had my eyes on ever since I crossed that store near Spencers, LOL. Thank you so much for these lovely DIY ideas. I think I am going to take up a couple of them and put my diaries and notebooks to a good use.
I have some other ideas 1.) have a a favorite movie or show journal that explains what u like and dislike about it (for me is anime) 2.) have a music journal that talks about ur favorite band or music genre (for me is Bts) 3.)have a art notebook where u would draw something every day which will help u show ur progress
Cool videos. You can also do a kitchen Journal. You can write down any recipes. You do, draw picture in it if you want to, and do a review of how it tastes, how easy it was, Etc.
My favorites: keeping collections separate from my main Bullet Journal, possibly in a disc notebook; and a DIY 5-year diary of questions, favorites, etc.
I keep a notebook to learn languages. I never have to look online for the info, I have it all written down in a notebook. It also helps when you study the language.
Just loved this! I am 62 and often do the same...I have a ton of gorgeous books to fill. Thank you for some super ideas! I'll look forward to following you from now on...
Similar to the collections, those prompts you see on social media really helped me. Music, books, fictional characters, movies, TV shows, travel, writing prompts, restaurants, bars and clubs - all of them unlocked something in my mind and even though the notebook wasn't pretty, it did get filled up
I don't think any of these journaling styles are for me, BUT I'm impressed by your organization techniques and I like your bracelets! Thank you for taking the time to share.
I like to journal my thoughts and feelings anyway but wanted more things to journal because eventually, you get everything out when you are expressing your feelings so thanx for the ideas I look forward to using them (:
I had a small questions notebook throughout school. I would get a bunch of inspirational ideas but forgot about them literally a moment after so I would jot them down in my lil book and when I got home, Googled all the stuff. It really helped keep my creative wheels going!
Impulse buy every year when school supplies go on sale! I'm 45 yrs old and still love buying the real decorative notebooks, folders, pens...its like re visiting my childhood! Lol
Honestly I think the dear future self one is the best because either way you’re gonna look back at those at some point and then your actually talking to you. I don’t know I just like it the most.
I love your videos! Watching this, I couldn't believe you had septimus heap quotes in your notebook; I hardly ever meet anyone else who's read them but I listen to the audiobooks on repeat!! They're so good!
I have notes for citations, random thoughts, and various bucket lists (things to do, grocery list, countries to visit, etc..) but I also have a diary where I write whenever I need to get rid of my anger or talk about my sadness, or when I go through a realization/emotional breakthrough. I really recommend having a diary that you can write all the things you have to get out but aren’t willing to tell a person. It’s also fun to go back and read AND if you’re in the process of learning a language, you can write and then go back and correct weeks/months later. It really helpful for many things actually.
I found this to be very helpful. I often find myself in what I like to call "organized chaos", so I picked up a bullet journal and intend to actually use it for it's intended purpose.
I write from a faraway country - India. I share your passion for notebooks and writing. Got a number of wonderful ideas from you in this video. Thanks and good wishes!
I absolutely love the idea of a Q and A notebook. It would be such a nice souvenir from your younger self to your present self! Great idea! I am going to do make one too!
Am i the only one here who just never really has the time to write down anything and literally i mean ANYTHING at all, much less my meals :3 But lovely to watch, was so satisfying to see you fill dem notebooks with luv!
Tell me about it - now that I'm at university and working a full-time job over the summer, I totally get the feeling. My bullet journaling habits have changed as well!
I use one notebook as a song book. Some songs are so beautiful, that I can't help but write them right away. It'll be cooler when I can finally put a sheet music and understand it too.
I carry a small notebook (smaller than a smartphone) in my handbag/purse along with an ikea pencil. That way, I can scrawl down inspiration wherever it strikes! Also: I want to be you! You're as creative as I am and yet you don't seem to have the chaos that is the flip side of every creative person I have met, including myself. xx
I absolutely love that idea! A friend of mine does the same thing. And thank you, that's very sweet! I think you'd find that I have quite a bit of chaos too though ;-)
I also have another idea! Everytime you dream and don't want to forget it, keep a seperate notebook for you dreams, in my case i have very weird dreams to the poing it gets funny so i like to write them up :)
Ellie Moore *very* late reply to your comment, but I read them as a kid too! It’s been a while and I never did finish the series. Definitely gonna reread them.
I love your channel my daughter is always telling me I have too many notebooks so I had too many books but now I see I'm not alone thank you for the upload and I will pay attention to your channel and I just love what you do with all those books and I'm going to do it to thank you 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Excellent ideas! I do use several of these. One I use that wasn't mentioned was a bullet journal for books, I track what I got from a library, what I read, page count and how many stars I rated it. Thank you for the wonderful video
Haha, I totally agree! When I split things up too much it gets hard to figure out where they go and then I end up stressing out. Sometimes minimal is better. ;-)
ADRIAN GEE Cause of the way I mix it up. In a same paragraph in a journal I could have a list of things I need to buy and also the dream I had the night before. It makes it really hard to find stuff. But that's the way I can write everything down. When I separate stuff usually I forget about the other notebooks and I end up writing everything in one
I need a scribble pad or notebook to organize my thoughts and ideas before nicely writing it into another book/ journal. lol I have a lot of notebooks too. Several are still blank that I'm starting to figure out how to use with videos like this (I love how you even use the tiny books!). but my current notebooks in use are... -Bullet Journal (yearly trackers + lists) -Regular Planner (for my daily stuff) -Art Therapy Journal -Anatomy Study Sketch book -Landscape Sketch book -Master Copy Studies sketchbook -Language Lessons In the past I started a dream journal, and medical notebook for when I worked with animals so I could remember what I was learning, but I didn't keep up with them. I might bring them back out. But I like the idea of common place books (quotes and notes) and the writers journal.... hmmm... Thanks for sharing! More ideas are coming to mind!
Very very cool!! I actually use just a bullet journal for pretty much everything at the moment, but depending on what you need, all of those are really great ideas! ;-)
I have a dream journal, where I try to write down what I dreamt the night before, when I wake up (so i have it fresh on my mind and don't lose much detail). Its nice to have a detailed description of my dreams and look back at them sometimes. Also it helps if you have a dream dictionary so you can define your dreams with more details so you don't forget. 🌠🌜🌈📓🖋
This just reminds me of how my childhood was: enjoying creativity without stressing about the time that I allot for every thing that I do. I love how you discussed each idea. New subscriber here. ^_^
I have lots of notebooks that are practically brand new and completely empty I have a serious problem with getting more notebooks when I have brand new ones 😂. This video helps a lot thanks!
i love all these ideas...i sure had a hard time focusing on what you were presenting. My eyes just don't focus as fast as you move your notebooks around. That said, I do appreciate your demo and would love to see more detail about your blog post control notebook.
I've been keeping a violin practice journal. In it, I keep a copy of the song I'm working on [I mark and highlight passages that need improvement], I write down different techniques I'm trying, and a log of how much I've practiced, among a few other things.
I've participated in NaNoWriMo a few times, and I haven't always 'finished". But some of my best runs have been when I've consciously made it a part of my routine; one year, I woke up an hour early every day to write, and then would write whenever I had ten minutes to spare! My best advice would be to find the time and just DO it. ;-)
This is great! Thank you. I love the Q&A a day. I’m curious, did you come up with all of the questions (if not where did you get them)? What kind of questions are there?
Some of them I came up with, some I printed off from Jordan Peterson's "Self-Authoring Suite", and most of them I just compiled from a variety of sources about conversation starters and diary/journal prompts. ;-) My favourite questions in my book are things like "can people change", "what regrets did you have this week", "what is something you are really proud of lately", etc.
Hi again! Popping by again to say I just published my full list of the questions I use over on my blog if you want to check it out. ;-) wp.me/p8vmGF-pX
I think it's remarkable how you can put so many notes in your note books. I would loose track. Btw your a very talented at drawing buildings and dresses!
I can't be the only one who gets this great feeling whenever I see a notebook just filled with writing! It is soooooo satisfying!

You could also write your dreams down!
Yep u could make your dream Journal
I have notes for citations, random thoughts, and various bucket lists (things to do, grocery list, countries to visit, etc..) but I also have a diary where I write whenever I need to get rid of my anger or talk about my sadness, or when I go through a realization/emotional breakthrough. I really recommend having a diary that you can write all the things you have to get out but aren’t willing to tell a person. It’s also fun to go back and read AND if you’re in the process of learning a language, you can write and then go back and correct weeks/months later. It really helpful for many things actually.
Love all of these ideas! Thanks for sharing!
Mistral Spirit 😍no problem

I found this to be very helpful. I often find myself in what I like to call "organized chaos", so I picked up a bullet journal and intend to actually use it for it's intended purpose.
Glad you found it helpful! :-)
You draw so well congratss
I write from a faraway country - India. I share your passion for notebooks and writing. Got a number of wonderful ideas from you in this video. Thanks and good wishes!
Thanks for the kind comment, and I'm really glad to hear that! ;-)
My bullet journaling habits have changed as well!
this video is absolutely PERFECT
I use one notebook as a song book. Some songs are so beautiful, that I can't help but write them right away. It'll be cooler when I can finally put a sheet music and understand it too.
Wow, this is awesome! I think I have about 25 notebooks laying around that I can use now!! Thanks for your videos-you are so inspiring!
Thank you! I'm glad you found them inspiring!
auww!! so lucky i lack notebooks, I need them i have some ideas of my own
I carry a small notebook (smaller than a smartphone) in my handbag/purse along with an ikea pencil.
Thanks for these ideas! These ideas can help improve one's IQ and become smarter. 😊
I also have another idea!
Everytime you dream and don't want to forget it, keep a seperate notebook for you dreams, in my case i have very weird dreams to the poing it gets funny so i like to write them up :)
The Septimus Heap quotes in the Quote Book made me do a double take- I'm in the UK and I have never met anyone who read them
Ellie Moore *very* late reply to your comment, but I read them as a kid too! It’s been a while and I never did finish the series. Definitely gonna reread them.
I was looking for this comment! My favorite childhood series, and still really good rereading them.
I love your channel my daughter is always telling me I have too many notebooks so I had too many books but now I see I'm not alone thank you for the upload and I will pay attention to your channel and I just love what you do with all those books and I'm going to do it to thank you 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Omg your voice is so soothing!!
Tysm the ideas helped!
Excellent ideas! I do use several of these. One I use that wasn't mentioned was a bullet journal for books, I track what I got from a library, what I read, page count and how many stars I rated it. Thank you for the wonderful video
Ooh, that's cool! It sounds a lot like Goodreads - have you tried using that?
I do use that as well :) I just love the idea of it being handwritten, sometimes easier to flip through than scrolling ;)
I like your idea of keeping collections separate from the bujo. Like you said, it gets tedious re-transcribing everything!
Am I the only one who has a "obsession" with buying notebooks and doing nothing with them?😇
Me literally me 😂
Me too
Mee too
Yeah thank you

Lots of good ideas 😊 Though I keep it all together in one notebook. I try to separate things but I always end up mixing stuff, it's such a mess. 😕😂

-Bullet Journal (yearly trackers + lists)
-Regular Planner (for my daily stuff)
-Art Therapy Journal
-Anatomy Study Sketch book
-Landscape Sketch book
-Master Copy Studies sketchbook
-Language Lessons
In the past I started a dream journal, and medical notebook for when I worked with animals so I could remember what I was learning, but I didn't keep up with them. I might bring them back out. But I like the idea of common place books (quotes and notes) and the writers journal.... hmmm... Thanks for sharing! More ideas are coming to mind!
Very very cool!! I actually use just a bullet journal for pretty much everything at the moment, but depending on what you need, all of those are really great ideas! ;-)
This video was a really good idea 😉 I like the fact that you gave us many ideas in a short video ! Thanks 💞
Thank you! That was the goal, I'm glad you enjoyed!
It's funny how we forget our dreams so quickly! Great idea :-)
This video helps a lot thanks!
when i saw you have printables.... i subscribed immediately AHHAHHA
You are the most organised person I have ever seen
I want to know where you got that white journal with the quarts on the cover and the page markers I saw a glimpse of
It's from Chapters! I got it as a gift :-)
Mistral Spirit oh that's in Canada, maybe I can find something similar here in the U.S.
i love all these ideas...i sure had a hard time focusing on what you were presenting. My eyes just don't focus as fast as you move your notebooks around. That said, I do appreciate your demo and would love to see more detail about your blog post control notebook.
You're an amazing artist!
I've been keeping a violin practice journal. In it, I keep a copy of the song I'm working on [I mark and highlight passages that need improvement], I write down different techniques I'm trying, and a log of how much I've practiced, among a few other things.
You mentioned about participating in the nanowrimo, do you have any suggestions for people who want to finish writing a story in a month?
I've participated in NaNoWriMo a few times, and I haven't always 'finished". But some of my best runs have been when I've consciously made it a part of my routine; one year, I woke up an hour early every day to write, and then would write whenever I had ten minutes to spare! My best advice would be to find the time and just DO it. ;-)
Mistral Spirit I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thank you ❤
That little questions notebook is so teeny tiny! Adorable
Haha, I know right! :-P
This is great! Thank you. I love the Q&A a day. I’m curious, did you come up with all of the questions (if not where did you get them)? What kind of questions are there?
Some of them I came up with, some I printed off from Jordan Peterson's "Self-Authoring Suite", and most of them I just compiled from a variety of sources about conversation starters and diary/journal prompts. ;-)
My favourite questions in my book are things like "can people change", "what regrets did you have this week", "what is something you are really proud of lately", etc.
I really want to have different kinds of notebooks ang journals but im always worried about my hand writing. 😥
Me:

Anyone saw her quoting from septimus heap series in her cute quotes book? ^^
XD YAY! Not gonna lie, I sort of put that there hoping someone who read it would comment because NO ONE knows about Septimus Heap :-P
jfkkdksks I love septimus heap !!
Now I have to look up Septimus Heap...
Your handwriting is so cute and pretty. And so are your notebooks. Thanks for this video helped me a lot
