- Turning a Curtain Pole Finial using only two tools in real speed full unedited video.
These are a standard pattern. In the video I use an Ashley Iles 1” Skew and 1/2” Spindle Gouge. The sizing gauge is homemade.
Approx 1450 RPM and the tool rest is slightly above center.
You say it's not a tutorial, but it is.
From the beginner to the accomplished turner, this is reference-grade material to see 'how it's done'.
No frills, no swagger, just wonderful craftsmanship.
I applaud you.
Edutainment at its best.
Thank you 👍
I'll second that.
Definitely 'reference-grade material' tho' I doubt many will reach this level of proficiency.
But goddamn! the pleasure of watching the effortlessness (is that a word? I'm norwegian) !
As we say in my neck of the woods:
It's always a pleasure to watch a Master at work :-)
Thank you
Really appreciating this new talk over style Steve, As ever, I think David Smart put it so well I've nothing to add. Maybe.....a craftsman at the pinnacle of his power :-)
Thank you
