Hi Eric. I have a " Homemade " lathe. I have the motor, lathe, and just the other day I got a speed control. This video is Surprisingly right on time. Kinda spooky actually. Thanks for the video. This guy is a Really good teacher. Have a BLESSED DAY. 😎🇺🇸
What a fantastic video! That gentleman is not only a skilled craftsman, but, also a wonderful teacher!! It's absolutely amazing that your graceful spindle was formed from a variation of the same cuts!! Wood turning is so peaceful to watch and results in such lovely creations. Thanks so much for sharing! Hope you and Buddy have an awesome day! God bless!!
Very informative thankyou. My mind keeps taking me to the woodturners from Asia you see on youtube ..... Basic machines and at the most 2 chisels, one a more flattened kind of roughing gouge (or curved skew .... Depending on how you view it 😊), and what they knock out puts us to shame, well me anyway. I look at my range of chisels and the only conclusion i can come to is that i lack skill. And skill comes from 100s of hours of practice.
I agree he’s really good showing his skill but I’d say his videos are not for beginners because in my own opinion he lacks instruction and foresight to any possible mishaps that a beginner would run into, but again that’s my opinion, Peter Galbert, and Jon Siegel are pretty awesome turners too! Though I’d be here all day listing some UA-cam pros! I actually purchased the Galbert caliper, love it!!
This is really helpful for a beginner turner (me), thank you!
The man is not only a master turner, he is also a master instructor. Thanks for sharing.
Allan Batty, legendary woodturner a true master way before anybody else on UA-cam you need to check out some of his videos

I'm not even a wood turner, but I learned a lot from two very good teachers on this episode.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for the explanation and the demonstration of the skew chisels! I am new to turning and grateful for the lesson! Looking forward to more!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video Eric, I am not a wood turner, you got me thinking!

What a great opportunity to learn from a master. FYI, I have a phobia of lathes
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi
Tubes!
Sure do miss the series…… I’m in the middle of nowhere now.
No face sheilds.
I suggest you take a look at Steve Jones, a production turner, @woodturner21 now there’s a true master of the skew in action!
