Ikea is a great resource for staple items like the Billy bookcase that can be upcycled into any type of storage solution you need! I use it to house my shoe collection. What’s your favorite Ikea piece and how do you use it?
This is the first time me seeing the video where all of the products are actually well researched and presented. Thank you. Gave me some very good ideas for our home.
Fun list! And I really appreciate your research & work on pronouncing the product names in Swedish. I have no knowledge of the language, but I get so irritated with other UA-camrs laughing & giggling at words they can’t pronounce. You’re being respectful & professional by educating yourself & by not mocking another language. And it sounded good to me!
This is such a great video Julie. You did all the hard work for me🎉. My children all have needs for many of these affordable options in furniture and home decor. Will be referring to this video often❤
I would love to see you present the new IKEA finds! Just as an aside; your hair looks so stylish. I noticed the style in the last few videos. Great look on you! Now, I wonder how it would look in gray…..and with double chin. Sigh
I just got my first set of IKEA curtains, wish I would have got them sooner. You just sold me on the jute rug for the living room. Can’t wait to see how it pulls my living room together.
I have had the BILLY bookshelves in my home for about 15 yrs. One with doors. One without. I have a matching entertainment center in between and get compliments on the set up often. I want to do a built-in and will probably recycle my BILLY's. I am planning to update my foyer and hallway and the shoe console maybe the perfect piece of furniture. Right now I have a flimsy shoe/umbrella rack. This video is right on time. I plan to visit some of my local consignment shops but a few IKEA pieces won't hurt.
@@JulieKhuu I like the metallic one you showed in the video. Would have never guessed that was a BILLY. My SIL and I are headed over to IKEA next week.
We have 3 BILLY 🤣🤣 well when I met my husband he came with his BILLY' s 🤣🤣🤣 He had them as just one massive piece unit for books but when we got our home I disassemble them and put in different rooms (Kitchen, sitting room and bedroom) I love the vases as well but I have so many I cannot find a place to put more plants and vases. The stillhet and the lamp are already on my list for my next shopping trip. I have the jute rug, I just love jute I think because my style a bit Boho and my husband style is industrial, I am trying to combine them, using a lot of your videos for inspiration Thank you 🥰🥰🥰
Love your videos! Just wanted to point out the links by each product in your description are not clickable 😢 so in case they’re affiliated… I would rather you get commission for all your hard work researching. Thank you as always!!!❤❤
IKEA is a bit internal DIY so you are allowed to pronounce the Word as you want and sound good for you, but one thing that make word sound more Swedish is if you pitch up at the end of the vocalization, like the Swedish Chef in the Muppet Show.
I am clearly not a person to shop at IKEA, it is so far from my taste, but I can see the beauty of the products. Thank you for putting the lists together!
I’m always trying to hide a multitude of sins 😂- great video - I loved the mushroom lamps and I wouldn’t have known they existed - I definitely need those 😊
How do I hang plants in front of the window if I have sheer drapes? Do I have to drill holes in the ceiling...not really wanting to do that. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm definitively getting the vase. It looks like a unicorn left its toy for me. Please teach us about hanging crystals. Is it feng shui or taoism?
If you don’t want to drill holes in the ceiling, you can use command strips BUT the plants have to be very light or the tape won’t support it. Filling holes is super easy to do if you’re returning a rental unit! Check the DIY highlight on my IG for more tips on how to do this ☺️👍
@@JulieKhuu Lol, I forgot I left this comment! I came back a month later because our DR needs help! Although I still "want" everything, we just inherited two substantial pieces, which will allow us to repurpose some of our nicer items to the DR. Now we're closer to getting a beautiful dining room table. Your videos are so helpful 😊
Of all the IKEA videos I’ve watched lately, I can’t believe no one has mentioned the round walnut veneer Stockholm mirror. It is modern and really pretty…the online pics do not do it justice. Maybe it has been around for awhile(?)
These are definitely attractive pieces especially for ikea, but I still don’t think they entirely shake the feeling of being mass-produced and “ikea-esque”. I think these are solid options, but personally I’d rather put in a little more effort and time to source/thrift more unique pieces
You recommendations have too many clear glass, they're pretty but too much hassel to keep clean, the minimalism appear kinda goes against the item itself

Loved this video, Thank you Julie 😊❤️🎈🎈🎈
I Like it a lot, some are expensive for me, but others are very elegant and cheap. Thanks a lot😁
i like Varmblixt series .. and Dejsa lamp

Yes, please make a shop-along IKEA video!
You got it! 🙌

😂 Still fabulous I’m sure of it Jeanne-Marie! 🙌
Another great video! I see a couple of things that I'll be picking up before they are gone.
Our Ikea is always wiped out!
Great video. When my Son was working at Ikea we took advantage of his 10% employee discount, spent $4,000 on Closet organization a nd kitchen stuff.
That is awesome! Takes care of tax+! 🙌

I’ve seen so many amazing Billy hacks that look like expensive built-ins! I swear they come out with a new color each year 😍
@@JulieKhuu I like the metallic one you showed in the video. Would have never guessed that was a BILLY. My SIL and I are headed over to IKEA next week.
I love IKEA window treatments….I have a south facing window that can be pretty hot in the summer….IKEA draperies will be perfect.
I have my drapery gal add liner to Ikea panels and they end up looking more expensive than they are Mary! 😍
Wow! This is a GREAT video! I love it! Thanks
The STALL. I will live and die by it. It was so perfect for our narrow entryway!
That’s awesome 👏
Great video! Can’t wait to go to IKEA again. Need those pendants!
They’re always coming out with something new I can hardly keep up Kimberley! 😆
Thanks Julie for your recommendation!❤
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching Polly! 🙏💖
This was really helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching Mona! 🙏☺️

Haha it’s like the Brady bunch for Billy’s! 😂🙌
What is the name of the black, half open cabinet in which the GLADELIG is being displayed at 11:32?
I love your video. Specially an IKEA one. Everybody loves ikeas is so versatile
For sure! I’ve shopping Ikea at all stages in my life 🙌

I would have never considered any of those before. Thank you.
AWESOME and affordable furniture/decor options for our homes!!!
Thank you for watching ☺️🙏
Love all your picks 🥰💙
So many of those items can be put to use in an industrial setting...lovin it thanks
So versatile 👍
Loving this Julie... New subbie... appreciate the content
Great video Julie! I got a lot of great ideas from it!
Awesome! Thank you for watching 🙏☺️
I love the new drapery rods. Hope there are several sizes.
You can fit them together to make longer rods Carla. Hide the connection points behind brackets 👍
Thank you Julie!
This video was great but I'm wondering if any of the items are still available. There are links but I cannot click on them. Thank you.
So helpful, thanks, Julie!! 🥰❤
You are so welcome Monica, thank you for watching 💖☺️
Thanks so much Julie 🤍😀

Yes, I noticed that! Gotta keep practicing ☺️
❤❤❤ do you have a bed list from IKEA?
Great information! Great video!
I am clearly not a person to shop at IKEA, it is so far from my taste, but I can see the beauty of the products. Thank you for putting the lists together!
Clearly?
Thank you for watching Nelson! I can always sniff out my favs ☺️
Hi from Sweden ! You are beautiful and you made a beautiful job presenting the Ikea products ! ❤️
Thank you so much! How did I do on the pronunciations 😅🙏
@@JulieKhuu I think you did great. Some of those words are difficult even for us swedes to say correctly.
this is such a greatly helpful vid
Hi, thanks for the advices, i like nordmela very much and i Hope It will be available soon in Italy too
It sucks that Ikea doesn’t offer everything everywhere! Even in our local shop, hot items are always sold out 😕
Great ideas in this video. Thanks!
Thank you for watching David 🙏☺️
You are always amazing with fantastic advise.
You talked so fast today, too funny 😂
Haha I had a lot to get through Janice! 😅
Yes please more IKEA
I’m always trying to hide a multitude of sins 😂- great video - I loved the mushroom lamps and I wouldn’t have known they existed - I definitely need those 😊
That lamp is so darling! Perfect size for a bookshelf as well 🍄
@@JulieKhuu there’s two sizes as well 🙂
Really need draperies, thanks for the guidance😉
I have others I love, but these look very luxurious 👍
This is an excellent list!
Thank you for watching Susan 🙏☺️
Loved this.

Great video.
Thanks for the visit Nancy! ☺️🙏
I definitely want to have a shoe cabinet in our entrance. Does the entry mirror need to be round for good feng shui?
No, not at all. The bigger, the better though!
Sadly the Nordmela is not available in the US :(
Seriously want to go along with you to ikea😊
I would love to do more of these! So much fun 💖
Loved it
Thank you for watching 🙏☺️
I appreciate you ❤
I appreciate you 💖🙏 thank you for watching!
@@JulieKhuu You are welcome! I saved this episode to refer to later! Cheers!
Thanks
Thank you for watching Crystal 🙏😊
Are the products assembly easy to understand?
That’s what task rabbit is for 😂
They are very easy to understand. The instructions use drawings, so no bad translations.
I'm shocked the Liatorp bookshelves didn't make your list, they're so much more chic than the billy bookshelves.
I see more Billys hacked in such creative and luxurious ways! Liatorp is fab too don’t get me wrong ☺️🙏
This collection is fabulous...I hate when I want everything!!!!
Start a wishlist and see if you still love it a month later! That’s my trick 😉

Would be nice to just have a store !
Where are you located Teresa?
For good sharing design
Thank you for watching Nasir! 🙏☺️
😻
I checked for Desja Lamp. Its not $39, it’s $54.99 now
Oh yikes inflation 😝
My husband would never put shoes in a cabinet. I'm hunting for a small bench that he can slide them under. Compromise!
That’s a smart solution when he can’t bother with doors 😂

I’m a huge thrifter so I agree, but Ikea is fabulous for basic items to start building your home with smart storage solutions 👍
most of these are out of stock :((
You recommendations have too many clear glass, they're pretty but too much hassel to keep clean, the minimalism appear kinda goes against the item itself
No furniture from Ikea looks high end and its very easily recognizable
Nordmela is not kid friendly. If used as a bench, I could see a child sliding off the bench and slicing open their leg on those sharp drawer pulls.
NO IKEA here in South Africa, so yeah, NOT WORLD WIDE
I’ll have to take that up with Ikea! 😂
