You are absolutely right. The spark tester confirmed that the the ignition was working, Changing the board was not a logical step, I recon the new electrode cleared the fault. Ah well, hopefully the customer was happy.
@@terrygee210after changing the electrode it still did not fire? Once board was changed it did? Unless I’ve missed something Terry, what do you think the fault was ?
You are really not getting to the bottom of many of the issues you attend to. You cannot test a ‘dangling’ igniter - it has to be grounded. Are you sure the PCB was defective - what proving tests did you do? Did you try reseating the board connections? The system with the ‘defective’ pump - did you advise the customer that the system is dirty and needs flushing. Why reinstall a cleaned plate heat exchanger when you could see scale in the feed pipe? Sorry, I realise there may be stuff happening that is not shown in the video but what is shown just raises questions.
I am of the same opinion when testing electrodes you have to ground it to get a spark.
Good video man! Appreciated!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks Chirag. That was very informative and useful contrnt
Nice one 👍🏾
Great video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
When testing a spark electrode , hold metal flange on metal surfaces otherwise you will not get a spark , good video
Of course, no wonder 😂🤦🏾♂️
As they say , you never stop learning, very impressed with your work ethic!!!, though I work late , don’t burn yourself out , all the best Robert

@@robertmailer4978 thanks mate 👍🏾

Emergency call-out for the plate 😂, think they may have been getting a few tell tail issues a short time prior 🤔
Love your videos m8t hard working family man nice that you didn’t charge the old guy …👍👍
Thanks man 👍🏾
Quality content
Thanks 👍🏾
Another top video from a G 💯👏 . Doesn’t spirit of salt rot the copper in the plate exchange?
Oh dear 😮
Proper caked up
Yup!
That last job was surely the vessel goosed ? 😂 great vid
Yeah I find that out on a later visit 😂
Just a bit blocked. You'll be back again at some point.. the the brass block is most likely choked up too..
Yeah the boilers due for a swap this year 😅
Mad bro the plate 😂
Mate
Amazing content and always look forward to seeing how you go about resolving problems and respecting your customers , keep up the good work 👊
Thanks man 👊🏾
Oneshot drain cleaner is great for cleaning plates mate but be careful with it 90 odd % acid
Nice one mate, always good to have an alternative 👍🏾
How long did you leave that plate soaking for?
About 10-15 mins, just until it stops bubbling
Who does your hoodie’s?
The hoodies I get from Regatta and I get them done by a local person. They're called The Sign Expert
Nice work, hard graft though.
Thanks man 👊🏾
Should have isolation next to the boiler.
Good point, I'll price it in on the next job as no doubt I'll be going back for another problem 😂
Why not install an isolation switch next to the boiler in the loft would only cost a few quid and be better for all engineers,👍✅🍺🇬🇧
Good shout. No doubt I'll be back there at some point when something else fails 😂 so I'll price it in then 👍🏾
Fuse spur should not be downstairs, or it should have local isolation by the appliance for safe working practices. Re attic Baxi.
Thanks 👍🏾
Clean the probes
👍🏾
6:02 Surely you would only see a spark when the second electrode was grounded to the case ??? (one wire flapping has nothing to spark 'to')
It’s only in for a short time, I use a jet wash.
