Maximise your earning potential by learning specialist areas of the industry where you are contacted for specific jobs. For me this is wiring predominantly. The second most earned jobs for me are fixing Worcester Bosch boilers as so many people tend to shy away from them as they can be quite involved to work on. The Dreaded Biasi! I Should Have Walked Away - A Day In The Life Of A Gas Engineer 193

The dreaded Biasi! I should have walked away. We all have that boiler brand we hate, I'm sure many will agree that Biasi, Ferroli & Ariston are up there (or down there!) I also encountered a fault on an underfloor heating system which I wasn't familiar with, but just by using the basic steps I was able to figure out what the problem was. Glad it helped 👍🏾
Another class vid!
Glad you enjoyed!
We all just doing the best we can to help as many customers as possible and get home to our families, that’s what we all work for ultimately. Amen 🙏
💯
Thanks for the vid, I was struggling with the thermostat programmable
Glad it helped 👍🏾
*This should be shown on prime time tv, after the 6 o’clock news!*
I wish 😂
This season is mad and it hasn't even started yet 😮 Look after yourself Chirag and everyone else in our trade
You know how it is Paul! Hope you're good too mate 🙏🏾
Great video! Question if I may please regarding these vertical rads. I know some of them can be piped up either way, but I assume the TRV’s would always go on the flow side? Is that right? My house has these vertical rads downstairs and normal rads upstairs. Whoever installed them before I bought the house a few years ago has put the TRV’s on the return side of some of the rads. I did my best to try “balance” them as some weren’t getting as hot as others and most get piping hot now but they take at least 30 mins to get hot. I have a Vaillant EcoTec Plus 825 with 8 rads. I assume it’s best to drain down the system and move the TRV’s to the flow side so everything is correct? Cheers
TRVs these days would be bi-directional anyway so it shouldn't really make a difference but yes ideally they should be on the flow
@@cputilitysolutionsthanks mate appreciate your reply 👍
No one reads the manual?😢
It’s definately piped the way it should work in the style of a one pipe system been doing it 47 years you must keep the loop so waste can pass to next rad if you turned rad off at valve
If you used the two pipes coming out the floor and just went to each valve / it would stop the whole dystem from working
This is called a one pipe system and is found in schools a lot and its basically just a loop in front of the radiator you have to be careful and pipe the same or you can stop other radiators working if you try to change the style and it’s a complete night mare to adjust to a two pipe system
Yeah can't be leaving that flexi sticking out like that, even if you cut it and put a 500mm one on atleast it's tucked away out of sight bud.
👍🏾
Don’t feel guilty about using hep, it’s probably done by 95% of people now
💯
Water flows one way It normally has ine valve per radiatir to balance
One pipe system Works very well The main pipe is supposed to be in 22mm You have flow and return from same pipe branching off to rad in 15mm or 10mm
Smashed it Chirag, this 3 minute video can save my day on Friday. I’ve got a conversion to do I’ve done it 3 times in the past but as an apprentice but now I’m going at it alone. This video has been explained so easily that I’m super confident in going into this conversion job. Thanks a lot mate👍🏼
Nice one mate good luck and let us know how you got on 👊🏾
hi mate, 8pm getting in after a poxy vaillant ashp install and commission, I'm watching this vid now and how you've just started to line up and hang that rad is how I've been doing it for ages, honestly not knocking you, there's so many tips and tricks i learn from watching you and tiff. It's mad to me how we all do so many different things so many different ways, but are still learning after ages in the game. keep it up mate, loving the channel 👍
Nice one mate thank you 👍🏾
Sorry but that flexi looks awful
I forgive you 😁
Great video pal, what was that spray you used on the pan connector
Just silicone grease spray mate
right am off to gasapp as you did another rad video!! Just kidding mate thanks for the video :)
😂 I actually did mention it when I filmed it as it was right after that whole thread saga, but I cut it out during the edit. Let them chat sh!t, I don't need to sink to their levels 👊🏾
Hi, I like watching your videos, but the toilet flexi connector was a bit messy. I would have piped that one up solid in copper, It would have looked so much neater, cheers
Thanks 👍🏾
Love your vids and you're a brilliant boiler engineer but that toilet job was a bit of a mess mate.
How so mate? I don't do much general plumbing
@truthseeker7794 thanks for the feedback mate 👍🏾
Have to say I wouldn't criticise anything this dude does. He's a true professional. Very highly skilled and exceptionally hardworking. 💪👍👍👏👏👏
Hi you can buy flat sided valves or you can file the end flat it only take a minute also I enjoy the work you do
Nice one thank you 👍🏾
Check out screwfix item 2665R ,handy to carry a couple for just that flexi pipe situation
Nice one mate 👌🏾

When a good customer assumes you do plumbing... Er yeah sure I'll sort that 😢
Haha you know it
The perfect video at the perfect time. I’m of the exact same opinion as you.
Thank you mate 👊🏾
I offered to go out on Saturday gone last Friday, And they moaned it was the next day. Thats what you’re dealing with sometimes.

😂👊🏾
You lad, are a real professional! Love your videos! 💪💪💪💪💪
Cool, replaced my old grundfos pump with one of these and didn't know about this setting
this time of year it gets a bit mad, I try to get to people that I can, toilet handle is loose, you can wait, water coming through ceiling, I'll be there literally asap and stay on phone while you turn off the stop cock. But mainly I try to come home at a reasonable time and be there with my family. It may sound selfish but your emergency isn't always my emergency if that makes sense. keep up the good work mate 👍
Absolutely spot on mate. We're all human at the end of the day with our own lives to manage as well 🙏🏾
Absolutely bang on the money bud well said
👊🏾👊🏾
Well said, spoke the truth can't explain any better than this, very direct and full of facts, but unfortunately, NOT every customer will understand acknowledged what you've said as many customers are very self centred, it's always me, me, me so in the situation like that, just take a deep breath and silent yourself, conserve your energy as they will drain your brain and your energy. In the time like this, it's winter lots of people having problems with their boiler, central heating not working and gets very frustrated and cranky , especially elderly people, as they're tired with their life, getting old. when something goes wrong they gets angry very easily. So for your own benefits, you'll just have to take it easy. You're very hard working man and doing great wonderful work, and keep it up. You're settling good examples.
Thanks dad 🙏🏾
Yep. Well said mate
The older people are generally the most understanding and patient waiting for you. I find the young ones are the least understanding cos it's all about them. They think they are doing you a favour by staying in for a couple of hours so you can fix their boiler.. also, always want an exact time like it's an office meeting 😂. Then will bugger off out and keep you waiting.. will say they're working so come in the evening..
Great video 👍
Be honest how many jobs go wrong !! Ive been in trade for over 40 years yes jobs go wrong but not many !!
👍🏾
Depends what you mean by "go wrong". And not all engineers are experts, or experienced. Getting qualified really doesn't mean you are competent.
We try to give am/pm appointments and also state that we will send a text 30-60mins before arrival. Customers appreciate that and it takes the stress away from you as well... ... Take care
👍🏾
Wish they was all like you.. thank you.
🙏🏾
People are self-centred, end of.
Unfortunately some people are
Some people will never understand our situation bro, not everyone.
