Look at you backing up like a pro after a pause! Thank you for that and keep doing everything else you doing. CHEERS!!
Right?? She's awesome❤
Lol, I'm trying!
Tim has at least a 5 octave range and so glad you graduated to this, homefry! Great reaction and keep at it! You've been doing great and it's always nice to see people that appreciate their work! They're all so amazing and so good to see them appreciated 😊👍🤙
This song was originally done by Cam, a soprano, and the boys sang this in the same key that she did.
Tim has a 5+ octave range and early on trained as a tenor until his natural bass range developed. Chance took over the bass for the entire song, and sang bass with his last group. Tim has said they got extremely lucky to get Chance when Chris left the group. Avi from Pentatonix left about the same time, so they were looking for a new bass to take over at the same time - it was fortunate indeed! Chance allows Tim to branch out a lot from his bass, and his voice is so smooth and rich, it definitely adds a lot. I liked Chris, but I love Chance and the added dimension he brings to the group.
You need to see How Great Thou Art. Another 5 part harmony like Helplessly Hoping, but with the added bonus of being able to hear Adam Rupp’s voice in a (too) short solo. It is the most beautiful rendition of that song I’ve ever heard. A few more of my personal favorites are Flowers on the Wall, Castles on the Hill, In the Blood, Champagne Tastes (on a beer budget), and Do You Hear What I Hear (a Christmas song, true, but I listen to their version year round). Adam Rupp arranged Do You Hear, and it is absolutely amazing.
Another great one (especially since you like Tim’s voice so much!) is Tim’s collaboration with Peter Hollens (another a cappella singer) on Misty Mountain. Tim’s bass will knock your shoes off and curl your toes. (Plus he stares at the camera with those gorgeous eyes of his - yummy goodness all over!)
Welcome to the party, New Fry! I discovered you right after you first met our boys, and have been watching you ever since. The rabbit hole is deep, but you’ll never want to escape!
Nope, no escaping this rabbit hole😉 and Maria will need new AC installed when she listens to Misty Mountains😀
And don't forget it's all about the bass... [Pun intended]
Love this one. There's a very entertaining "From the Vault" behind the scenes video for this one, too. Makes you wonder how they ever actually get a video fonished.
People forget Tim has a 5 octave vocal range which includes his higher tenor range , the man is truly amazing in all ways
Thank you, Maria. The wait was worth it, Nice Job. Technically, all these guys are brilliant.
I really think they did this song to show off their "other" ranges, and to play with some other aspects of musical talent. Love this song and this group. They are even better in person , live concert, or as they say "live Party". LOL
Now it's finally time for Tim Fousts Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay from his solo channel!!!
And/or Snowglobe
They never let me down either. Love them. Yeah that’s the switcheroo with Tim showing off his 5 octave range for you and Chance coming in with the bass. Some reactors do this song too soon and they think Tim is a tenor and we have to say no, Tim is the bass. Such a good song and Adam’s beatboxing is great. 🤩
Chance has a phenomenal bass voice. He gets to use it when Tim sings lead. I love this one so much. Enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
Now you are ready to hear Tim's Solo stuff.
Tim’s voice is just beautiful here.
So glad you finally got to it.
I hope all the frustration was worth it for you. 😊
This is so very awesome! The first time I heard this I almost fell off my chair! They will never let you down! Love your reaction!
You get 4 sopranos, 5 basses,5 tenors, 2 basses, plus 5 beatboxers one of whom is world class in 5 guys! The talent pot can be stirred unbelievably!!
Love it when Chance carries the base line and Tim sings tenor ! These guys never disappoint !
Yay for Mayday! Great reaction❤
And I just saw that you are closing in on 1500 subscribers-YOWZA!
When you have a moment to react, try "Cover Me Up", beautiful lead by Chance with a wonderful surprise at the end, and "I Can't Outrun You", a different sound from Rob.
Cam is the original artist & our fellas sang it in the same key as she did. I’m glad you finally made it back home so now you can get to Bless The Broken Road, Can’t Stop The Feeling & then turn the A/C down as low as it will go, turn the fan on high, have a jug of ice water @ hand & then you’ll be ready for Make You Feel My Love. Remember, I’ve never lied to you or steered you wrong before so I’ll drive, you ride shotgun & we’ll have a helluva journey. C’mon Home Fries, let’s roll !!
So they needed 3 tenors singing in this one and *Poof* Tim's a tenor and Chance has the bass role in this one. He stepped into Home Free's baritone spot when he joined, but he can sing the bass too and it's simply magic when they are both harmonizing the bass, it can sound like an organ playing in an empty church when they do that. Chance used to sing the bass in a group called Street Corner Symphony before he joined Home Free. They were also in the Sing-Off season 2 and came in second that season, they were very good and if you look at any of their performances, Chance's hair was long then too.
Great Reaction, Love These Guys ❤
This song is a true view of just how talented these guys really are :)
It's always a pleasure when a reactor waits before reacting to Mayday. One of the (many) reasons I like about HF is their ability to change things up. It's a shock to see the three of them singing in the soprano range, then Chance coming in with his foghorn bass. And, of course, Adam's vocal percussion is superb.
This used to be more shocking when Tim was virtually only a base (see their live version of Your Man for them playing around with it) and Chance covered midrange. Most of us knew Chance had been bass with his prior group, but had not heard it. A lot of the more recent songs, though, have shown us the ranges, so it is less of a surprise, though still fun. And Adam's drum riffs in this are still amazing.
Fantastic reaction❤!!! That wait was worth it!!
Their mashup of Fishin' in the Dark/Boondocks is mindblowingly great. As a long time Home Fry, you're now one of my go-to reactors.
Many of us have been on this journey for a long time and it so enjoyable to welcome new travelers like yourself.
I waited for for reaction to this song before I listened to it for the first time. Glad I did.
This song is one of my favorites. So glad you waited to react to it. Your surprise at hearing the switch ups in the voices was great. Tim can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. And Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. This song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original.
My Dear Young Woman, You are the "delight" to watch grow and discover new artists. Your eager appreciation of excellent musicianship is refreshingly honest. From finding old clasics (Linda Ronstadt), the edgy (Tom Macdonald) and the quickly becoming familiar and clasic new guys (Home Free) your journey has, so far, been a pleasure to watch.
As a devout Home Fry i do hope you'll continue down this path as it is one I've taken and tho.roughly enjoyed, and with 300 plus videos to explore it can be quite an elongated experience. You have recieved some admirable suggestions and you should add them all to your burgeoning list. The three that i would encourage you to listen to next (or, at least very soon) would be Austin Brown doing a solo project from Les Miserable
(Oops, accidentally hit send too early, apologies) anyway, Austin singing Bring Him Home. You will melt into a little puddle. Then you must hear Adam Rupp's first "Drum Solo" (just to watch your jaw drop). And, finally, Rob and Austin in Two 9:41 Country Singers "Try" Singing Opera - Nesum Dorma, which must be heard to be believed.
Do carry on, we will be watching and enjoying your journey vicariously!
I have this one loaded....but I have a LOT or requests. I'm trying to get to everything. :)
The other key difference in this one is that Chance carries the bass notes through the whole song, Tim sings in the tenor range except for a couple spots where he goes bassy.
Love your reactions!
Mayday!!! Whoop Whoop!!
Thanks for listening to the Home Fries and being patient. It's always sad when a reactor rushes ahead and gets to Mayday before s/he understands how different it is. The song & HF's version is outstanding by any measure, but the switch up surprise is the cherry on top! Also, if you haven't heard the original, do it. When you compare the two versions, you realize that HF does it in the same key as Cam...so Tim's singing in the range of a soprano!!
They are singing in the same range as it was originally sung
Chance carries that bass throughout this one....he's really a talented singer/entertainer too.
Yes, finally the Mayday masterpiece is discovered! I hope you liked it! ADAM was fantastic too -- this group of guys create magic and art and make it look so easy.
If you liked that one you should have a look for Two Country Singers Try to Sing Opera" now that's a different sound. Enjoy
A good reaction. Take Me Home Country Roads is my favorite song HF does.
❤❤
Once you've seen the guys in a few, other videos, you can appreciate how they switched things up here. Have seen reactors, where this is their very first HF experience, and they aren't able to note the versatility, and are perplexed when comments suggest they should have waited. This song also skews more 'soft pop' or AC, therefore, shows how they're able to vary their content (the 'country' label is bit of a misnomer). As with so many of their songs, the common lament asks why isn't this on the radio?!
FYI...The behind-the-scenes video of the making of this is fun... with the guys being typically silly. There's a 'Vault' playlist on the HF channel with the b-t-s vids they've posted.
Love the behind the scenes videos. Definitely worth a reaction.
If you want a good one that will make you laugh and need to fan yourself at the same time, you have to see "Make You Feel My Love" by Home Free. Just as a palate cleanser before diving into more mind blowing stuff! I would suggest afterwards doing "Crazy" which sounds so amazing. So much like Oatsy Cline's version. And the percussion Adam does! It's subtle but he mimics the sound of the brushes sliding across the drums perfectly.
If you’d like to kick off summer with a party with the SD’s, I recommend “Can’t Stop the Feeling”.
It’s not that different than Justin Timberlake’s original, it’s just funner. Nice visuals too.
p.s. It’s pre haircut Tim.
Great reaction! I have a feeling that you need a hug, so sending one your way!
There are so many great songs by these guys. Maybe an original? Give Me a Sign is written by Austin and is the first video of the Stargazer Trilogy. Land of the Free was written by Tim.
You are doing great!
Home Free-"LISTEN TO THE MUSIC"... when you get a chance to react to it.
Don't forget about Adam Rupp doing the background sounds
Great reaction! Glad you went ahead and did it. Another favorite of mine is Snow Globe. It's a Christmas song sorta. They also do I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Peter Hollens.
The Driver!, I'm waiting!
I know...I have a bunch loaded....more than I can count. I will get to it! :)
Yay! Mayday! Glad to see you're reacting to this one! 😁
Edit: Just saw the notice about the new equipment--apologies, did not know about that before I commented. (Will leave said comment so I don't confuse those reading the comments.)
No offense, but your front-facing/selfie camera is much better than the one you used for this vid. 😥 I had to turn my brightness up just to see you, it's not well-focused (looks fuzzy), and the colors seem... off. 😬
Yeah. It's my first day using it. It'll get better.
I'm glad you decided to listen to Mayday. Aren't they all fantastic. All are such cuties. Sometime you might want to listen to Tommy Johanson great metal guartarist & singer. He sings both parts in the Phantom of the Opera.
Scrum-didlly-umtious !!!
Now you NEED to se Tim "Will you still love me / Stay" your ready
I'm sorry you had a bad day...hope this makes it better
