Hey guys, thank you for sharing your journey, what a fantastic job you have both done on the truck. Keep safe and warm. Greetings from the Pilbara WA Australia.
SO glad to finally see the C304 on the dirt lanes, after working on it for so long. I drove one about 20 years ago and was absolutely flabergasted on how good it was off road. I've loved them and their little brother C303 ever since. Very hard to find them in the US.
From the perspective of an American, It's really great to see you guys paying homage to the memorials the allies left scattered across Europe; A reminder of the sacrifice so many people from so many nations and states devoted to the ideal of freedom, and respect for the price that had to be paid.
What a wonderful sight, this Volvo TGB in its proper element, the forest. You must be so proud of what you have accomplished and built. A beauty for the eye. No wonder all the cyclists stopped to take pictures of it. Happy continuation of your European trip, drive carefully, the last fool is not born yet. Greetings from your follower and friend in Sweden.😍😍😊😉👍💪💪

So cool to experience, thanks for the commentary on the different sites/tanks etc. I'm a big Band of Brothers fan here in NZ so to see what relics of that specific campaign are still there is amazing. By the way the Volvo looked the part parked next the Tiger!
Volvo is a handsome beast. Great trip you are having. I love the history. I went to the ardennes back in the summer on the bike. I didn't get to see the tanks unfortunately. They are on my list for next time. There is also a Tiger 1 in France I would love to see. I struggle with time as I have long covid which limits my riding hours, meaning trips have to be longer. If you are around Germany in the summer you should go to the big overland event at Bad Kissengen.
Hey guys. Been following you since the beginning of the bowser build. I'm also a Kiwi. I spent over 13 years living in London and now reside in Aussie. 7 Years here now. And I must say the best present I got was the snake bite kit that you talked about. I worked on a farm for a few years and constantly came face to face with brown, tiger and red belly back snakes just to name a few. I kept that kit on my belt whenever I left a vehicle. Its still in my wagon ready to go if I decide to head out for a walk or hunt. Great piece of gear to carry for everyday stuff.
Very cool video. Great videography. The "Ange" drone through the trees was spectacular. Very blokey thing to do visiting all the war stuff. So much an important part of our history and great that you get to visit.
We still talk about “the war”. Everyone know what we are talking about, but it happened over 80 years go. Nearly none of us were even born then. It to be “so fresh” in the collective memory, means that it was such an upheaval in history.
36:36, Chris Ange . “Survival Supplies Australia “ have all anyone could need , if you find a destination you’ll be in long enough for delivery. Well worth a look folks, but I think you could be aware of them. Awesome video 👍🇦🇺
When driving on large rocks, do not grip the steering wheel with your fingers on the inside. The steering wheels can knock your finger off if the wheel is turned quickly by a large rock. If you drive over narrow tree trunks, do not drive 90 degrees over them because they can get stuck between the rear wheels. Otherwise, you will be surprised that the Terrain car 13 can make its way through forests you don't think is possible to drive in.
@@johngibson3837 When I did my military service and drove TGB 11 and 13, it was an instruction we had to learn because people have injured their fingers that way.
Spain has many beautiful spots and more off road tracks. You won’t need to look far. The Sierra Nevada is awesome. One town I’ll never forget is Alcalá del Júcar. A local tunnelled into the cliff (behind his house) and built an amazing bar / museum etc. Cuenca is also worth seeing. Short hop to Morocco too 😉
All I will say on the subject is that there has already been a German Overlander fined in Scandinavia when they went off-road and posted on insta. Be aware that people view what you are doing as a destructive pastime using a 6x6 military truck thru a path and then sawing trees to get thru not exactly the shining example of "leave only footprints, take only memories" treading lightly on the environment. The tree may have been put there to stop vehicles and you don't really know what is going on locally in terms of habitat or uses. The Atacama Desert has been damaged by overlanders and this gun ho attitude that it's no one's property is why no one likes Freedom camping and why people have to make their RVs or 4x4s stealthy because of this type of attitude
@@fraserwright9482clearing a fallen tree on an already cut trail isn't being destructive. It's doing the right thing and helping others out along the way.
@@michaelellert4982"Roads between fields are private. Roads through forests, with trees on both sides are illegal to drive unless you are a farmer getting access" so it's not public. When you think that on the standard Tiger, each track pin has needle roller bearings that need greasing... In Russia the grease froze, they also needed slimmer tracks fitting for rail transport.... keep it simple to maintain and build, like the T34 and Sherman. The German armour was over engineered in a way.
That monster made 30 hp’s per liter of cylinder volume and consumed 452 liter of petrol(!) per 100 km’s on the road. Imagine the fuel consumption off-road! - Its design was the pinnacle of madness.
Are you thinking of putting a winch on the volvo? I have seen quite a few in sweden that has it, to be able to pull themselves out when they are stuck for example. Would look cool too! Great video as always.
Fantastic episode, so great to see Skädi in 6wd. Just need an electric chainsaw and somewhere to store firewood. Can I suggest that Ange and you keep well away when using the kinetic rope, in case of failure in recoil, also use it at full length instead of halved.

The King Tiger, like all other Ger man tanks at that days, had petrol engines ! Maybach HL 230 ! It was on purpose because of different structural problems and resource constraints before and during the war. Originally it was designed as an airplane engine as far as I know.

I always keep a cheap chainsaw in my truck. Very handy when there is a tree over the road.
You will find fallen trees all over Europe when off roading or using logging roads, this little 8 inch blade chainsaw from Ryobi you can find in many hardware stores and it's big enough to cut most trees with a tad of patience and it also makes cutting firewood a breeze. It's the PSBCW01 - 18V ONE+ HP COMPACT BRUSHLESS 8" PRUNING CHAINSAW (Can't link URL)

If you ever come to Germany, you’ll find stunning landscapes to explore, but it’s worth knowing that driving through forests with motor vehicles is generally not allowed unless you have special permission. This rule, part of environmental protection laws, applies to all vehicles, including off-road ones, with exceptions only for foresters, hunters, or special permits. Oh, and if you’re tempted to give it a try, just keep in mind that fines can reach up to €25,000-you might need to sell your awesome off-road vehicle to pay it (though that would be a shame, because it’s a fantastic rig!). Unpaved roads are also quite rare in Germany-Europeans often have to search hard to find non-asphalted routes. That said, there are beautiful public roads and designated off-road parks to enjoy, so there’s still plenty to explore! Fun fact: Germany has a dense road network with about 2.32 kilometers of road per square kilometer of land, while Australia only has about 0.11 kilometers of road per square kilometer. A clear sign of how much open wilderness you’ll find in Australia compared to the neatly paved infrastructure in Germany!

The King Tiger, like all other Ger man tanks at that days, had petrol engines ! Maybach HL 230 ! It was on purpose because of different structural problems and resource constraints before and during the war. Originally it was designed as an airplane engine as far as I know.
Check my correction text at the bottom of the screen 👍
@@TheOutFitI don’t want wbe unpolite. Just think that it’s interesting and unusual to use petrol engines in tanks. Sorry didn’t read it correctly 🙂
The germans built some amazing tuff machines back then , thank God it didn't work out for them , Amen 🙏 and what an amazing video guys cheers 👍 gee your rig looks great
I always keep a cheap chainsaw in my truck. Very handy when there is a tree over the road.
If going to Spain & and if you like Sergio Leone western movies & Clint Eastwood, you should go to Sad Hill. A really cool place.
Awesome quest thru those countries. A proper run in , getting into 1st gear Granny Lo, and an inline 6 cylinder torque, thats what American Trucks are famous for. with the 6.68:1 ratio you could climb anything. Chris... wheres yur gloves brother. make it a habit. I have been wearing gloves for over 40 years, for Everything with potentialto rack my day up. They have saved me gangs of grief. 👍And a snatch block off a tree 45° off that limb to draw it sideways... just some food for thought. Ang getting all the Great foto angles was Kool too. Be blessed you all, Happy travels. I woke up at 4a.m. and saw this vid posted, made my Friday🤙🤙🔧🛠️🔧 Idaho
Bienvenue dans les chemins d' Europe ....
Je pense que l'achat d'une tronçonneuse va s'imposer ...
Surtout après l'épisode venteux que l'on vient de subir !
Was it just me but at 05:34 when you said the Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. B was the highlight of your trip I didn't hear your partner agree! LoL
I however, am with you. Would be stoked to be there and see this! Completely taken aback that the first place you seem to have taken your new build is a battlefield! You have a very understanding partner.... I ahve had to wait for my divorce to have such freedom! LoL Look forward to more such visits; especially given the capbility of your vehicle...
No more fingers Chris!
Good to see you out & About guys! I agree small dewalt chainsaw would be a good addition ❤
Hi from Bastogne guys !!! Crazy you've visited my hometown
You live in a very nice area! Thank you for watching :)
Well you're definitely not selling Germany to us 😅
for spain, bardenas reales, picos de europa, delta ebro, monegros desert, tabernas desert, cabo de gata, monfrague park in extremadura.
Great, thank you for the recommendations!
G'day Chris/Angie
I genuinely enjoy your adventurous lifestyle and most importantly I enjoy your combined attitude to 'Life' ~ thank you for allowing me ( and my wife ) to share your journey(s)
If you don't mind a little ' Fatherly advice' ~ get yourselves a pair of leather gloves, Riggers or gardening gloves, the type you've walked past every time you shopped in a Bunnings warehouse anywhere in Australia ~ you will pat yourself on the back should you have a near miss with anything that has the potential to remove skin or flesh from your fingers/hands, as you well know, finger tips don't grow back.
Warm wishes from the Inland Pilbara ~ Western Australia.
Safe travels : Joe Fury 👍
La gleize where the köningstiger stands is 15km from where i live i hope you like this side of Belgium 😉
We really enjoyed this part of Belgium, it was a pleasant surprise :)
Too bad you missed the Army barracks in Bastogne. They have a great armoured vehicle collection. And show around for free
Bro…just cut it! All the way.
Gotta up those deadfall skills.
Silky saw when it gets blunt would be hard yakka they recon it can be sharpened more designed for back packing. Get a Makita DUC254RT 18V small and compact easy to sharpen quick and easy
I’ve got the larger silky, it’s really good for large logs
Good to know! Thanks for watching :)
Hi, i recommend bardenas reales in Spain. Its absolutely worth a visit
Gorafe Spain. That's the désert you need to visit. Our last video will give you a good idea.
It's definitely on the list! Hope you're having nicer weather than we do :)
Should get a metal detector and try find relics in old battle fields
That would do my head in with those wipers. I'd fix that asap.
It's a feature not a defect 🤌
Go to see “Deborah” at 16 Rue du Calvaire, 59267 Flesquières, France. She is a tank from WW1 and lost in the first ever tank battle at Cambrai and the comparison with the King Tiger will blow you away.
it would be nice to see some of these volvos in Australia. Looks like a great machine, I prefer it over the mog
Would be a fun one to drive on tight tracks, easier than the Mog that's for sure! Thanks for watching :)
