What a pleasure to listen to an accomplished player demonstrating such a behemoth! And it's a such a good idea to put the moog in perspective by combining it with that delicate Vintage Vibe Rhodes. Chops meet sound, improv meets tech.
This is the first demo of this synth I actually enjoy. Not sure why every synth guy on UA-cam tries to demo the most alien non-musical sound they can get out of an instrument. It’s refreshing to hear some chords and not some space beeping. That demo around 7 minutes gave me a super big Radiohead feeling.
pontram I mean I’m sure the Piano 9 patch on my DX7 sounds “mundane”, doesn’t mean I like the sound of it any less. If musical means mundane nowadays then I’ll be mundane all day long.

I don't even play keys but I love these sounds. Very impressed with these chord voicings. Quite unique indeed. I play guitar and have well over a hundred different effects pedals mostly analog. A few digital as well but I just love new and interesting "tones". I like being a mad scientist of tonal exploration. Different sounds transport you to new arena' s in your mind and move you emotionally. Music is like a vast fabric of richly diverse dimensions of free form expression. So colorful. Tonality are the musician's pallet. Wielding a brush of expressive colors through sounds. Musicians are artists. I'm glad I came across your video. You can find a world of inspiration listening to instruments and artists your not normally accustomed to hearing. Well done sir! I am more blessed after hearing your art form!!!

Excellent keyboardist, excellent musician and spot on taste. Not only do we get to hear what this synth is capable of, but we get to hear it in the context of some fantastic progressions and playing (which is so important and so hard to find). Thank you!
I own a Moog One and I would disagree in saying it’s the best analog I’ve ever heard. The Model D, Voyager, and Matriarch all have more pleasing core tones (and those are just Moog monosynths). The OB-6 also has a more pleasant core tone, though it’s limited in modulation and has pretty stale reverb and delay effects, compared to Moog’s Eventide ones.
Thanks for that, Matt. I rarely (if ever), hear a synth being demo'd from the perspective of a jazz player. It was very refreshing to hear that synth played in more of a jazz context. Oh, and lastly; nice playing, too!

Love this!! Finally someone actually playing chord progressions on it without the over the top resonant/white noise swooshing and pulsing LFOs that could just as well have been made on the Sub 37. Actually sounds fantastic BTW but I can't help eying the Jupiter 8 and Rhodes on either side.

One of the things I love most with (good) sound design is that everyone comes up with their own unique patches, but it still retains the flavor of the synth. I also really liked the variety. (And your smile while playing matched the one I had while listening. Clearly enjoying the music and what the instrument and the artist are able to produce.). Thanks for the inspiration! Would love to be able to take some of your patches apart and see what I can learn from them!

6:07 The beginnings of an Jamiroquai: Ambient album ? Reminds me a bit of an album by Ray Lynch called "Deep Breakfast." His goal was to get critics (and the public) to see synthesizers as serious, useful instruments - and it worked. GREAT demo, mate. Cheers!
I'm surprised at how much hate It's gotten so far. The main complaint seems to be the harsh sonic character or lack there of given It costs 6 - 8 grand. The way he plays It sounds amazing and It looks like you can Imitate any other synth and do far more I love It. Hope to have one In 2 more years.

Around 12:00 was a great sound, surprising anyone didn't like this machine btw, all I've heard was amazing, I watched mainly stuff by Moog engineers themselves

Since the Moog One was first announced, kept thinking, "oh, I sure hope they sorted out all the tuning issues of the MemoryMoog ... but seems like that was their starting point : ) "let's pick up from where we left off" MemoryMoog was even then one of the best sounding analogue polyphonics .. but overheated/crashed and had tuning issues (even with onboard calibration routine)
It just blew me mind how he talked about how tight the tuning can be on modern instruments which keep them from having that straight vintage like sound; cue the Prophet 5 Rev 4 which includes a knob called "vintage" that works in giving you that wonkiness he was talking about. God, why are great synths so expensive? I want them all! I can't even really play them to be honest and I still want them.

It just blew me mind how he talked about how tight the tuning can be on modern instruments which keep them from having that straight vintage like sound; cue the Prophet 5 Rev 4 which includes a knob called "vintage" that works in giving you that wonkiness he was talking about.
God, why are great synths so expensive? I want them all! I can't even really play them to be honest and I still want them.
