- Helicopters have been the source of a lot of frustration in War Thunder ever since they were introduced in 2018. In general, they're either completely useless or totally broken. The AH-1G, Ka-50, and Tiger UHT are notable examples. Their only real counter are SPAA like the ADATS, Stormer HVM, and Tunguska, though those leave barely any room for other helicopters to fight back. Helicopter Enduring Confrontation isn't fun for anyone that doesn't shell out 60 bucks for a Ka-50. Simply put, helicopters aren't really fun for anyone right now.

Sorry if this isn't great, I'm feeling really under the weather. I fully acknowledge that I'm not very knowledgeable on helicopters, so this is just my perspective.
Its a good video. I love seeing players suffer.

It would maybe be interesting to see helicopters take a “side objective” besides killing other players kinda like bombers. Cargo helicopters must transport certain things from point A to point B, if they choose to transport infantry (if the helicopter itself allows it) the enemy loses less tickets, but you move faster. If you choose to transport something like a IFV (Again, if the helicopter can actually carry one) then you are slower but the enemy loses more tickets
Always open to your perspective. I've only ever played AH-1G and I find it fun has hell. When I dont die right away. You have to hug the earth to ambush with rockets and grenades. With the max rocket load the Cobra is a phat boi so that ain't easy. Can't speak for top tier. I'd rather go up a new tree that grind anything over 9.0. I just don't find top tier fun. Also, I too love playing AAA. Sometimes I have 2 aa in my line-up to ruin the lives of g91 pilots.
the problem with choppers is realism. U wouldnt bring choppers to a place with very accurate SAMs as it would be wasteful. I think their br should be lower, apart from the blatantly op ones ( like the Kas), SP higher(higher than a plane cost to be precise) and spawn pads further away. I dont think the idea of " you can spawn in a chopper right away" is any good at all. Any flying vehicle has advantage over a ground one unless its an anti-air vehicle(results may vary cuz ka-50).
TLDR: Lower br, Higher SP(no first spawning choppers), further away bases
in my opinion AH-1G can be somewhat OP sometimes but most of the time when you try rocket rushing you get shot down by even 7.92 rooftop MG and di doing like 2 kills. plus later in the game you HAVE to fly below treetop level due to Radar AA

Also, that's a pretty weird way to explain it. "The correct way to use blah blah blah is to confuse the heat signatures" yeeah, but flares try to do that themselves without you "using them the correct way", it's just that they aren't very good at it unless you also make evasive manoeuvres so just saying that explains it better
If those are radar SAMS and that helicopters knows where it came from, *assuming theyre not braindead* they’ll fire an atgm towards incoming missile and trigger the incoming missile’s proximity fuse and fuck you up

@Matt Schutzman in real life, helicopters have painters on the ground, if the zone is hot, or they have radar uplink and can engage from behind cover. But mostly you wont see helicopters in a SAM prone zone, and if they're going against early generation manpads they will be flying very very low and very fast, and engaging with dumb rockets just like we see in War Thunder, while dumping flares throughout the whole engagement, and then move out as quick as possible.

@@user-pc5sc7zi9j tbh on paper that would be an amazing idea. Use them for a counter to the battleships which are litterally unstoppable unless you can make a lucky bombing run or have your own battleship. Give subs like 4 torps and a slow speed so they can KO one, and maybe cripple a second BB. It would also give light cruisers and destroyers a lot more utility. You could then actually use depth charges for something and go sub hunting protecting your battleships.
Yeah but video game balance can’t mimic real life unless you really want to go with full scale milsim, which this game really isn’t.
If that was the norm, arcade shooters like call of duty or battlefield would be 100% shotguns all the time because shotguns in the relatively small maps of those types of games would completely dominate compared to any other weapon. That’s why shotguns are nerfed into the ground compared to how they would perform in real life with mediocre range and heavy damage drop off.
In the same sense, helicopters here are horrendously powerful irl and need either their real life hard counters in play (dedicated AA) or they need to be balanced around the actual game environment of being against nearly defenseless ground vehicles.
IRL if you surprise a tank with an attack helicopter, helicopter always wins.
In a video game to keep it fun, you need to balance the tank and helicopter to give the tank a fighting chance.
They had the right idea, but this isn’t a milsim game, this is more casual and arcadey. Unlike games such as Arma, your tanks aren’t defended by infantry and anti air, and the enemies aren’t 1-2 helicopters spaced out over a few square miles of combat area. A game like that still leaves the tank near defenseless on its own, but with the required support it can handle multiple helicopters, as real life is. The US army wasn’t throwing Abrams into the desert by themselves and hoping for the best.
For a game like war thunder you need to have teammate support to defend ground vehicles from aircraft, and without infantry that comes down to just mobile AA and that really isn’t enough for the map scale and vehicle count and realistically it would just be better to nerf the helicopters to give ground vehicles a chance.

Considering the insane grind to get to that point, even if I've always known about them they still wouldn't feel real to me if it wasn't for the few Ground Assault matches I played with the Leopard C2A1 MEXAS back where I got to see them in person (in swarms at that); so that statement still kinda feels like news to me.

I remember being in basic watching the helos in the Ozarks just decimate tank, in trading mind you. Still powerful shit to watch.

@@Armoredcompany There might be some very very limited circumstance where the APFSDS (a 120mm projectile is actually just 20mm wide) goes in and out without doing much of anything. Ala canvas biplanes vs 30mm AP, but the core of a helicopter is what is known as a "target rich environment." Getting nicked by an APFSDS is gonna throw a lot of metal debris around at high speeds and possibly start fires. And if it hits anything square on, even if that thing isn't important? *boom* good way to gut a helicopter.

From my perspective in heli its opposite. Flying 10m from the ground at tree Level and get locked by spaa 5km away that cant even see me trough all the trees but kills me anyway while i cant see him

Taking AA guns into Arcade is sometimes silly
The ostwind for one does not come with good guns vs tanks so the discouragement of high repair is good
But the repair is terrible because for Realistic, you WILL need that AA
yea people have been whining about tiny details for so long, like "buhu if only the APDFSTSPFBJXYZ round was correctly modelled, the game would be actually enjoyable", like hell no, the problem is these stupid ass maps with these stupid ass game modes, trying to model air/tank/ship warfare to a staggering amount of realism and then you force them into these super gamey and completely nonsensical situations.

One of the heli's the starting Japanese Huey, has only one way to kill things, mighty mouses, and requires 360,000 of reseacrch to get to the AH-1G, that has ATGMs, I put two months into it, and only have 60k done. It is poorly implemented for any nation that are not the big four.
USSR and JPN have the worst heli starts for real. They probably made them so shitty so people get frustrated flying them and just buy the KA-50 or whatever
Well I played uc and got 350k rp in one game with the ah1g 40 ka50 destroyed 20 uh1b, with 23 deaths
Trust me, it isn't better for the big for either, maybe It's even better for Japan because you need less helis to grind. Germany for example has to reseach the UH first, their starter is even below that. Russia is also pretty, the MI-4AV is considered to be the worst heli of them all even tho I think there are some others that are even worse. The best starter Heli is the US one and even then it's far from good

Helicopters escort tank columns of players while jets fly overhead in formation to do an attack on a military fortress with AIs
Then it'll turn into Armoured warfare and die off.
Sounds fun... for the first few weeks or months before Gaijin nukes the rewards into the ground and make the AI actively cheat which makes it impossible to do well.
@@yostupidmama1 i dont really think it would. Having a gamemode like that - given they can do a FAIR AI that's not braindead nor kills you from 20000kms - would do only good for WT imo. There are so many frustrated players who just wanna relax and are full with the grind and the ground *combined* battles where planes just obliterate you with Nords or Bullpups. Plus WT has no HP system like Armored Warfare does, it has a really good battle system - given that they fix random ricochets and stuff like that.

@@mouser7436 at earliest tank battles, when T 34s and IS 1s were demolishing Tigers aswell as Pershings were versing Panthers and King Tigers, German mains cried on forums for Gaijin to give Germans something which could defeat Soviets and Allies since Germans are coherent blatant skilless kids. So Gaijin gave Germans KT 2 with 105mm cannon which never existed, Kugelblitz AA with wooden turret on Panther chasis which never existed and aswell Panther 2 which never existed. Never existed means that not even prototype was created (Kugelblitz was just panther chasis with wooden mock up turret, thats all). And thats why after 4 years or so, Gaijin finally take it out from them and suddenly they are crying why they cant obtain it. If Russian were about to get something which never existed, you can already hear them bullshiting and crying on forums once more.

@@mr.t-7243 add the fact that even if you spawn as spaa... this dont mean your spawn is save and you have the time to find the heli befor the enemys MG kills you first.
One thing I'll say is that the Ka-50 actually had it's post-tail removal survivability taken away, as Gaijin changed what amount of damage aircraft and helicopters can take and still be counted as 'flyable' in Ground RB, which has lead to such interesting situations as Mi-24s losing their landing gear and being forced to bail out. Very good video over all, but helicopters actually seem to be glass cannons now, besides Sabot overpenetrating them. Hell, the Mi-24 can be downed by 7.62, and regardless of the controversy over the representation of it's armor, it most definitely could tank small arms outside of very particular areas.

Ah-64D is more meta, as well as tiger. The only good thing about ka-50 is ATGM range
You didn't mention that the Ka-52 also has an air-ground and air-air radar, thermal imaging, and more air-air missiles. Also that the Vikhrs used by the Ka-50/52 are dual-purpose due to having a proximity fuze.

@@jyralnadreth4442 Imo the Ka-52 is the 2nd best helicopter in the game, the first being the Tiger UHT with it's PARS 3 missiles.
@@PineCone227_ The Tiger is significantly better against tanks but is incredibly lacking when it comes to Air-defences, the Ka-52 is pretty much an airborne ADATS.

@@PineCone227_ The Tiger can't even defend itself when the enemy gets closer than ~3km because it 9/10 times won't have machine guns, the stingers and PARS are both useless at ranges closer than that.
And the Tiger is really slow so if you sneak up on one there's nothing it can do. THE UHT is still fun and really balanced actually. The possible multikills are satisfying while you're always highly aware of your limitations.

The Ka52 can do EVERYTHING.
Even the Ka50 can do MOST.
Those 2 Russian helicopters should both go up to BR 11.0 ASAP and even then they'd still be Superior by far.
I'd say the entire RB system needs a rework, for Anti air to have its place it needs air targets to fire at, whether they be AI or players who get to deploy right from the start of the match in air units.
If the AA role can be made consistently viable then the Air role becomes less of a freak accident mid way through a match and more of a staple of actual gameplay.

This sounds like the same issue overwstch had with DPS players. The majority of players have no interest in playing anything but DPS. And in war thunder the majority of players have no interest in playing anything but tanks. And in WT where it takes hours to days to grind to unlock an SPAA. In which you then have to grind the modules for. Yeah nobodys gping to be doing that for the exhilerating gameplay of sitting in spawn doing nothing but staring at the sky. Hell iv grinded every nation and only 2 of those nations have i even unlocked anything past tier 1 or 2 SPAA.
@@robertharris6092 especially not when its never a hard counter anyways, sucks to sit in a 40mm bofors shtter and being not only luck based against the most retarded of plane pilots but also completely worthless against atgm helis. even with radar gun spaa around 8.3 its still infuriating to watch some baby barely touch A and D to effectively avoid anti air fire (if it can even reach 3-4km before auto detonating or despawning) while at the same time guiding atgm after atgm.
its not game design, its just a powertrip. its so rarely competition and essentially always just a question of who can cheese the most and ruin as much gameplay for others as possible.
I think heli's issue is that early versions just get blasted by enemy AA with little to no struggle while later heli just sit in the back like the Tiger or they immediately die.
The UH1B sits too high, so does the UH1C. Helicopters can work but there needs to be nuance. I think scout helis, thin the huey, scout, H34, shoud get scouting and be cheaper, while attack helis, AH64, UHT, KA50-2, cost more sp since their ordinance is greater.
For ground rb, helis should have their own capture points that act as refuel stations and have better anti air capabilities, these points provide no tickets, but they make support better. Maps should take place in more diverse climates, Vietnam, as bad as it is in general, works fairly well for helicopters.
It would still just be an even more overpowered form of CAS. It just doesn’t work in WT

The amount of times I have killed a KA-50 without killing it's pilot and still being killed by it while it's going down is unimaginable, literally ruins high tier matches
AH-1G is a menace. Can't spawn without one already being in our spawn. So an increase in Spawn cost would be great. Make it similar to the cost of spawning an aircraft

@@tamasrezmuves3424 I almost never kill anything with armor. The rockets don't do jack shit to anything heavier than a BMP, unless you get extremely lucky. That's my experience.
@@epion660 yeah same. Rockets suck but i played only the Mi-4 in Ground RB but i think the grenade launcher is something else bc you attack from directly above but i domt really know..
@@tamasrezmuves3424 The launcher is really hard to get on target, and can be extremely unreliable at times. Hell, it fires a form of HE, and it still fails to kill BMPs and armored cars sometimes.
If they're going to insist on everything, boats, ships, heli's, then there should be a tank mode that is just tanks. Yes it's technically adding something by another game mode, but it can simplify things for players who want that, or just take the planes out of tank AB. I've seen other games keep adding things, tinkering, making the game "better" and some of the biggest games ever crashed and burned hard due to their constant tinkering and adding because it made the game into something completely different than it originally was. Evolving and improving is different than tinkering and changing the core structure. The biggest loser I've ever seen was world of warcraft so I use them as my example and I see some of what Gaijin is doing in what Blizz did to cut their players to almost nothing. Although later they did get back maybe a 3rd or a half, but only by changing their subscription model so basically if you played the game enough you could earn your subscription (sorta like WT does. if you're willing to grind enough you don't need premium) but take a look at Blizzard's real numbers and earnings and they basically blew that game up. Blizz spent millions driving away such a huge player base that people just make up other reasons why it happened, Blizz devs included. It was old, free to play games took over, better graphics, etc.. One of the first signs that the end is coming for most big mmo's is they branch out with different kinds of games that later make their way back into influencing the cash cow main game, we didn't know it at the time but it's the first nail in the coffin and now we see gaijin making Enlisted. I hope WT can keep it together because I love it, but it's gained some serious flaws with all this new great stuff.

I'll argue balance, low tier/coastal is fine till you have to face SF40s or a PG02 in close range, even some russian gunboats with ridiculous turret armour.
I like torpedo attacks, love using a US naval airplane and doing andas attack run, using islands as cover to reduce gunners time on target

as a player who often plays the spaa as a first spawn to cleanse the cancer, one of the most frustrating thing is to destroy a chopper only for them to lunch a flurry of atgm (after being classed as destroyed) and still kill you....a good 20sec after being destroyed....because they stupidly hover in the air coz physics overated.

Some better advice: just don’t grind them at all. You’re better off getting a jet, boat or tank. Even then, that’s pushing it.
Or play arma 3, ain't the best at physics but no grindnng required from heli stuff!

Forget it. That's what I say. They gave up balancing navel and they gave up balancing helis. You can tell them what they could do but it so low on their list they don't even bother with the possibly one developer working on it alone to fix it.

Agree with the ideas you have for improvement. Another thought I’ve had is increasing map size, or having an dynamic map/game mode that encourages certain strategies for using helis, ie.. pushing a final objective to help drive opposing spawns backwards, similar to bf rush modes or even hell let loose, or even having helis as a reward for winning some territory of the map in a large battle. Example.. this team pushed this area, they get the logistics for heli support, or this team pushed this area they get arty now, etc. The current game modes are too TDM mode in my opinion.

Ive tried to grind helis, but getting sniped at helipad by a ka50 while i only have an mi4 isnt fun

War thunder is so tedious and grinding, i want to get to the helicopter tech-tree, but it's so tiring, i'll probably leave the soviets and grind to the panther on the german side
I feel like getting WT, but the grinding complaint always comes up and I hate games where you need to grind. Are the starting vehicles good enough for WT to be worth the download?

i'm glad you touched on the issue, as someone who enjoys helicopters everything around them is pain, grinding 390k rp in games where on average you could just die in the beginning of the match or maybe even scrap away with a single kill and get like 500rp a game its impossible to get anywhere, I haven't unlocked a single helicopter beyond the starters in any tree since they've been released, the grind is so horrid.
Fun fact: The KA-50 in EC has active protection systems. You can take ATGM's and Unguided rockets in tandem, and when the enemy fires an ATGM you fire a handful of rockets and more often than not it will hit the enemy ATGM

I always die in the AH1G, getting killed by .50cals and Sidams
AH-1G rules: 1) never fly above 100 feet in altitude (can vary with terrain and foliage), 2) never carry x72 rockets since it's heavy and pushes the silver cost too high, 3) use the x32 hydra, x2 miniguns, and 40mm which gives increased utility, mobility (vs x72), and puts a hard cap on your time over the ground map (and is cheaper) without sacrificing lethality, 4) never make more than 2 passes over the ground map since you lose surprise speed and stealth usually after 1 pass and definitively after 2, 5) study the terrain features and come up with flight paths that you can repeatedly use to enter pass over and exit the battlefield while not exceeding the altitude limit and netting kills at the same time, last but not least 6) Stop for nothing once you begin a pass, don't make high energy turns unless you see an spaa that will kill you unless you kill it. Also use it as your first spawn since spawning anytime later is begging to be shredded by SIDAMs. I almost always get enough kills/assists to break even in the 1g following these rules and by liking Karelia, (Fields of) Poland, the Second Battle of El Alamein, Sweden, Normandy, Italy, Carpathians, Cargo, and Kuban (they all have excellent terrain for heli gameplay). Avoid maps like Kursk, Novorossiysk, American Desert and Alaska (wide flat terrain with little in the way of usable cover). Getting shot down is inevitable because you have no armor except the gunner who is your pilot's meat shield but this advice may help a bit.

@@iustinr3221 like 30 meters. AH-1Gs are glass cannons, you will get killed the goal is to take some folks with you. Usually because you're skimming the ground and they can't see you until you're literally on top of them you can make a clean entrance and get a few kills, and even with radar spaa's usually won't fire if they can't see you so putting a tree between you and the aa can sometimes save you long enough to kill them and escape. Prioritize your performance equipment over weapons for unlocking since the AH-1G survives off of it's mobility (if you're unlocking by RB). For Arcade assault you have leeway to unlock the firepower first because survivability isn't as much of a problem there.

most aircraft arent even that OP as long as your team has AA up. In a wirbelwind you can create a 800m area no fly zone no problem, which on most maps is like 1/3 of the map. Theres a small gap around 9.0 where you dont have missile AA yet, but you have things like Nords, which can easily outrange gun SPAA. Missile SPAA can clap a jet from 8km away if its not paying attention/doesnt have a radar warning system. which can be combatteed by flying at tree top level where radar SPAA cant lock you or have enough time to engage.
I just got to helicopters (ah -1g), ground rb I couldn't get any consistent results yet (for just starting I think it's fine), I also tried ec to spade it, I spawnd like 3 times but I got smack by ka-50s before even seeing tham

Theres always atleast 1 helicopter in custom battles camping in the air and killing everyone like it's the last day on earth. And whenever someone kills him, they just whip out their SPAA and A-7D and go nuts.
don´t forget that helis with tail rotor are still able to control even without a tail for enough time to get kills or the fact of being able to spawn at the start of a GROUND rb match with an helicopter just kills the point of that gamemode
I resigned my self to the AB game mode now, have done for the last year when these helicopters arrived, RB is no longer fun or profitable and if like me you play primarily in tanks, its forcing me to play aircraft which I don't want to use or have any interest in..

I have had several times where I have ricochet a 125mm apfsds round off the flat side of a gun ship or even armed troop transport heli, and the atgm helis plus the slug fest have ruined top tier for me

That's true and this is why i only grind helis in tank pve. It still suck, especially overpowered ai spaa, but at least you don't face Ka-50

Well you have Arcade Ground Assault but imo 5k xp for 25mins with bots isn't worth it.....it's also pretty boring.

Theres a couple of helis that I actually really enjoy. The KA 50 on some maps, where you can fly low and use the terrian to keep attacking from unexpected locations. Can normally get a few kills until someone salty comes back in a plane and your options are limited.
I also really enjoy the Scout Mk 1, again I love clinging to the terrain to launch unexpected strikes and at this BR you face less instakill missile AA.
The issue is that allowing helis at the start of the game is just brutal, and then for a lot of people it turns into a 2 way static missile range rather than intelligent gameplay. I dont think thats the fault of the helis though.
My biggest issue is their extreme durability, even when getting hit center mass through the engine with a MBT round they'll keep going. "Suffer damages of tail." or something stupid will pop up just before it rocket pods you to oblivion.
I agree....thats why when I play Ground...I use ATGMs to kill Helis. My T55Am1 has many Heli Pelts lol

Here's the thing about attack helicopters in real-life: they were always meant to do a lot of damage, far in excess to what they were worth. Wikipedia quotes that "an attack helicopter is projected to destroy targets worthing[sic] around 17 times its own production cost before being destroyed." An example, based off this info, would be an AH-64E helicopter destroying approximately 67 M1A2 Abrams in the course of its life expectancy.
The problem with War Thunder is that it does a good job recreating this real life scenario. In a video game. A game that should, by its nature, try to be as fun and fair as much as possible for all parties involved. I have to wonder if the only way to make the helicopter problem not so painful would be to severely limit the number of helicopters that a game could ever see throughout the course of a match. But then you run into the problem of denying people opportunities to play helicopters in the first place.
There was a time when no more than 4 M1 Abrams could be on a team at any given moment so limiting heli numbers ain't a problem.
Gaijin isn’t LucasArts or DICE tho so we get no well balanced gamemodes or team lineups
I've got an idea... how about create a new game mode called "Combined Arms RB" or some shit idfc that has tanks and helis/aircraft in mixed battles, that way the tank players can drive tanks and fight tanks in Tank RB, and the players who enjoy being defenseless against aircraft can have their own special place to play

The problem is Ground battles and the way they are designed, and how Gaijin let's a mouse fly for people. Removing the 3rd person camera also makes it harder to spot targets. I play a lot of Sim in helicopters, and rocket helicopters are not that bad in Sim for several reasons.
1. You don't have spotting or blue berry icons, which means planning attack runs and knowing where to attack in the 1st place is difficult.
2. No 3rd person means you can't look around corners, over buildings/hills, and you can't hear tanks as easily.
3. No mouse flying means you can't just point at something and press a button to kill it. Aiming a helicopter with joysticks is much harder.
While removing blue berry icons for RB is next to impossible to implement at the current moment, they could implement it if they lock nations to 1 of 2 sides.
Removing 3rd person for helicopters isn't a fantastic solution, but it will definitely make helicopters much less situationally aware.
As for the mouse flying, idk if Gaijin would ever remove that. I would be willing to bet most people have used an xbox or playstation controller, so it wouldn't be unfamiliar to them, but mouse joystick is also a thing that I know many use. I would also be willing to bet that removing mouse flying entirely would make aircraft more fun and also balanced.
If you think the game isn't playable with a controller, you are mostly wrong. I will say aiming a turret with a joystick is difficult compared to a mouse, but it probably makes it more realistic too (would be funny if you had to spin the joysticks like a mario party game to rotate and elevate your gun). Hell, I even use a mouse when I switch to tanks, boats, or gunners, but when it comes to flying, it isn't difficult to fly with just a controller. I have full sim controls for all types of vehicles (minus engine controls like oil and what not) mapped to just an xbox controller.
As a former PC player and now console player, I don't enjoy using a controller and would rather use a mouse and keyboard. The control schemes for all vehicle types were ported extremely poorly by Gaijin, and controllers have much less to work with for mappings. War Thunder is absolutely a game best played with a Mouse and Keyboard, as much as I hate to say it.
@@L1mp1nB1zk1t If you can memorize button combos, controller is better. If you can't press more than 2 buttons to activate something, than keyboard is for you, but you can use a controller and a mouse at the same time.
@@BruceLeeroy94 For each vehicle there are at minimum 2 dozen things you can do with button combinations. You really want to use controllers to map that all out? That's a headache and a half. I'd rather use M&K, personally.

@@eliatzarortiz8048 the highest BR I have researched is 6.7 in the US & UK tree, and I haven't played that yet as I'm trying to have a full lineup before I go for it. I do not expect to have much enjoyment at all due to it being stock, and for the kinda spam I will endure.

I saw a video of a guy playing helicopters in vr and he just goes at high speed with unguided rockets and low altitude through buildings and hillsides and it looks far more fun than highest tier heli atgm stuff. I’ve never used Helis myself but I will definitely do what that guy is doing as it seems far more fun

helicopters where added so people could pay to get a few free kills. That is why even SS.11s are mouse guided in them, the normal game mechanics would get in the way of the free kills.
The only way to make a fun game mode that involves helis would be a PVE missions, SteelxWolf made a pretty cool one so it could be done.

The only times when I don't despise helis, is when I have a battle task that causes me to prioritize air targets.
Nothing like landing a 125mm shell from 4000m away and only taking out the “tail”, as it still sits in its position, fires another rocket and kills me
Simple solution. On Every map, for both sides, have a dedicated Anti-Air spawn. It should be an elevated place, like a hill, with a hardcover or concealment from other tanks. So imagine a hill with a large foxhole, a hill with a concrete bunker that can house 3 to 4 anti-air vehicles. This way, SPAAs won't be decimated by tanks en route to their spot, or be used against tanks. A dedicated SPAA spawn with protected terrain will add actual SEAD dynamics into gameplay. And also, just give us more advanced AA. Wouldn't mind a patriote PAC 3 cell.

Generally when my tail gets shot off in the KA-50, it forces me to J out with about 13 seconds left. Although, you can deal some damage on that time as maneuverability is unchanged and the enemy believes they have killed you, giving them a false sense of security
