  • Take a walk inside an incredibly rare WW2 German bunker in Sortosville-en-Beaumont on the west of the Cotentin peninsula in Normandy.
    This radio guidance bunker was built to improve the accuracy of night-time or low visibility Luftwaffe bombing raids, using a system known as Knickebein which broadcast medium frequency radio beams from large antennas.
    The Luftwaffe-run facility at Sortosville - known as site K10 - featured a large FuSan 721 type antenna mounted on a 10m diameter circular track plus a crew bunker where there would also be a large generator and ‘computing room’.
    The main bunker here has two entrances, and one still features a large German eagle above the doorway with the remains of original concrete lettering in place. The inscription originally said: “Built under Adolf Hitler, in the fight against England.”
    This video takes you inside the bunker and reveals some surprising relics which are still in place over 80 years after it was constructed and captured by Allied forces.

    How’d they get all the generators and other equipment out of these rooms. The doors seem so small compared with the size of the equipment!❤️❤️❤️🥰😎🇨🇦

      It probably was desperate people after the war stealing and repurposing everything they could get their hands on not tied down.

    Two days ago the Germans surrendered WWll to the Allied forces on May 7th 1945, in France!

      Not all of them, those at Saint-Nazaire and Lorient U-Boat bases on the western French coast didn't surrender until the 10th of May.

    I watch many of these videos from different people what so amazing wasn’t technology they came up with to build and run such a fortified defense system like this way ahead of time says some experts and the Germans were ahead of every country but time and stupidity because there downfall

      Well that, and a highly toxic rlghtwlng ideology of natlvlst raclal supremacy.
      Same thing is flourishing in the United States right now, so if you want to see what the pre-Nz Germany police state looked like and what half the xenophobic people believed, just visit America.

      I don’t know about “ahead of every country “. Also remember that war tends to push innovation. Germany was prepared for war while others slept. But once threatened countries like UK USA and USSR quickly caught up in technology.

      @choppergirlfpv Місяць тому

      @@frankleespeaking9519 We learned in the Industrial revolution and the Computer revolution, you don't need war to push rapid innovation. Greed and profit motive will push it just as fast, with a lot less destruction of wealth and human lives.

      @@choppergirlfpv maybe you don’t NEED war to drive innovation, but it did. And it still does. For example , as we speak drone technology is progressing fast thanks to a war in Ukraine.
