- Beth was a little nervous for me. Our friend James from the Squamish guiding company RIDE BC ( www.ridebc.ca ) put in three years of hard work building an incredible new trail called Pamplemousse. It's a single black trail with some spicy double-black features in the Alice Lake area of Squamish, British Columbia. It was quite the ride. Check it out!

Congrats to the trail builders, and props to you for hitting that drop!
When you struggle on features, definitely do more shots of you pushing your bike back up the feature. The angle of you versus your bike versus the bike against the vertical rocks and trees REALLY puts it into a better perspective. Leaning your bike over into that absolute pit looks petrifying...
Agreed. That first feature didn't look steep until he was trying to walk back up it, and that drop had me nervous.
Big thumbs up to trail builders , the hrs , wks, yrs, they put in to projects, so everyone can enjoy.
The amount of work put in to any trail is astonishing. Much respect to all trail builders out there!
YESSS! My favourite vid yet :) So fun towing you into that first corner and the drop. Great to see the progression in you and Beth over the years! Viewers, get in touch with Ride BC and come visit Squamish! So much to show you! www.ridebc.ca
That is a great new trail James. I just couldn’t get it together for that drop. A few of the berms are super tight and steep. Such a thrill to commit to and let go of the brakes.
Cheers all!
Thanks Jeff! Yeah the drop is a bit of a mind game for sure. Would have liked to make some of those corners more open but was too steep 😑. They make you commit for sure
That was a dizzy drop Ryan! You soared, I panicked. And Beth, bravo for peeling yourself off the Lodgepole pine and jumping back on the saddle. Enjoyed this ride!
I live in Whistler and hands down this is one of the most fun trails around Sea to Sky! Awesome job with the build!
So cool that you can ride with the trail builder, awesome!
Excellent stuff all the way around...the trail and the riders. Would love another video from this same trail and group of riders.
That bike pops so much against the brown dirt!...oh and the trail is cool too 😀
Love the steep alert!
That's a gutsy drop... Well done!
LOVE the little steep alert logo that popped up!! Great touch!
That trail looks insane! Loved that drop! Well done! 😁
Thats so rad! Can't wait to go check it out in June !! Thanks for sharing this wicked video
You’re gonna love it Anne-Marie!
Nice work on that drop! That was a spicy one! That trail looks pretty great.
Love the cheers
Another great video, looks like such a cool trail!🤙🤙😁😁
That was a proper drop! Maybe it's this new bike or you're getting that much better but that was awesome!
Loved the trail. BC is just a gorgeous place I hope to get to visit and ride.
Jordan boostmaster: send it
Loam ranger: oh yeah!
First time I rode Pamplemousse, I was riding blind with a friend who also hadn't ridden the trail. That first corner is pretty scary the first time you roll up, made me poop a little bit.
Agreed 😂
nice job on that drop! I always miss this one when I am out west, but I will make sure to check it out this year
Thanks! Definitely a must-ride trail.
You seem to think yourself weak on drops...I'll say your on fire 💥 that thing was huge!! So far I've only dropped from handlebar height and that makes me smile and feel like a boss 😜
Haha well thanks! I’ve been working hard on hitting bigger drops over the last year, but I think the mental bar just naturally raises as a rider improves. I’m sure some dudes who are riding Rampage think they’re no good at drops 😂
That looks like fun.
Great trail James and Kudos to you for doing the drop took some guts as for James just riding around no gloves just a stroll through the woods lol classic great video awesome trail build welldone
"you never get to use your brake".. 👍👏👌
Great looking trail. Kind of reminds me of Off The Grid at Tiger Mountain.
Nice trail! Wish i was there
GoPro effect....trail looks like so much fun
WOW perfect trail bro
I think someone did a good video with Boostmaster about popping off jumps. Looking good out there! We've finally got dirt in the Okanagan, it's mountain biking time!
So jealous that you guys are riding already. Just a few more weeks before riding starts around Rossland (at lower elevations). That looks like a nice flowy trail. I don't know if it's the gopro or that I'm getting better (a bit of both hopefully), but that didn't really seem like a black, except for the big drop, but I wouldn't rate a whole trail based on one feature that's optional.
I totally agree that it's nice to have downhill trails where you hardly have to touch the brakes. The optimal downhill trail in my mind is one where you don't really need much braking (once you know the trail) and where you don't need much pedaling. I hate trails where you have to burn up your brakes, not just for the trail wear, but also because I've paid in sweat for every foot of elevation I had to climb (on most days), and I don't want to waste it going down. A trail where you're forced to use your brakes all the time tells me that elevation drop could have been better used making the trail longer and/or with more fun turns and features.
Agreed! The trail itself has a number of features that a rider has to commit to, which I would say puts it at a black. On that run through, I missed a couple of jumps that a rider at my level (not a noob, but certainly not a pro) could do, but might take a second/third run to really nail.
I definitely need to get back to Rossland!
Good job on the drop! \m/ Glad Beth's okay! :D \m/
Thanks! Ya those slippery roots can cause issues sometimes haha. She’s all good!
Reminds me of the famous "rolllercoaster trail" in Finale Ligure
James:GoPro doesn’t show it
All mountain bikers:*relates*
Yep.
Very cool mr loam
Literally rode this while he was adding finishing touches. Great trail! Didn't dare do the big drop though :P
Sketchy approach for me
Would love to see your wife's footage from that ride seeing as she probably closer to my level of riding skill
What level is that? Shoulder checking trees level? That's a refined talent. Takes a particular kind of toughness! LOL
@@fillfreakin2245 having hit many a tree ,Bush, wall, myself I fully understand her pain and have nothing but admiration for her get up and go attitude
....great trail... that's what I am love ...🤙😂
Nice vid.... I would have cased that drop too... haha
You've got some strong wheels there 🧐
Haha yep.
Not an easy drop! Not a lot of time to set up for that one. Great job!
Ya that corner is quite close, although James was saying he did that on purpose to control peoples speed.
when a friend builds a trail, YOU RIDE IT and find out that your friend sucks at trailbuilding and the features get destroyed when you shred'em. This is what happens to me all the friggin time! My friend f'ing sucks at trail building but this is good!
Squamish is good
Did Pole stop sponsoring you? Noticed you’ve been riding the Ibis Ripmo. 🤔
You guys must have fantastic baby sitters. Jealous!
Haha yep, my mom is pretty awesome 😀
Is this with the Noir Matter or the 3axis Gimbal?
That’s with the EVO 3 axis. The Noir was acting up, so it’s in for repair.
The Loam Ranger That‘s not so good to hear. I was going to get one of those but since I live in Germany, „sending it in for repair“ is not easily done.
I’m a beginner wanting to get into MTB, and I wanna know if I should get a bike with switchable gears or just a 1 gear bike.
Get a bike with multiple gears but only rear if you can. And make sure you get one that has good enough travel in the fork/shock. Start small and work your way up, otherwise you may hurt yourself. Good to see that there are new riders all the time, have fun out there!
Dmitry Molotov Thanks man! Literally about 30 minutes after that comment I was talking to my dad about wanting to get into MTB and he showed me his old “Gary Fisher” bike and said that most of the parts were aftermarket and worth a lot. Plus, it has gears in only the back, but I didn’t count how many...
Wish it was legal to build trails in Ontario. Our crown land is off limits, even though it's OURS
It can definitely be tricky in some places, unfortunately.
use just gopro hero 7/8 on chin PLS
The sound effects at 3:20 - 3:50 . Were kinda 💀
"Easy black. So like a Red" you mean a pro line?
Mr Avocado Man a lot of parks actually have a red that sits between blue square and black diamond. It’s just not all that common in North America. Coast Gravity Park uses that system, for example!
Who else is from germany?:
Netter kamerade!
I mean, I'm stationed in Germany. I'm in Kaiserslautern.
Really?
I live near to wiesbaden!
@@irinaheck5136 Hit me up on IG. If you ever wanna come ride down here you're more than welcome! :D IG: rob.juric

First ! Damn im so glad i found this channel. Contents are legit fun.
Edit: I typed too long i became second lol.
bruh what that corner is easy as fuckkkkkk lmao
co
Snotty nose all around??? You should go get tested for Corona bro.
Haha well, me and every other Canadian for 6 months of the year need to be tested then.
@@TheLoamRanger true that!
