- They call it "Razors Edge" for a reason... This double black, advanced trail will kick any riders butt -- yours included. The climbs are just as difficult as the descents too!

Thanks for the invite! I will come for sure at some point! Loose rocky is always something that scares me!
Get out here!
There’s a trail on the other side of that mountain Prairie/Jewell Pass that I find more challenging (mostly when wet) due to the sheer amount of roots (Prairie View) and rocks (Jewel Pass). Both trails are super fast and can get sketchy if it snows or rains, which has happened to me half the time I ride it. You can actually link all of these trails together for a really long ride (I’ve only done this once).
Yes, we need to see the Remy lines on Razor's Edge
that place looks so sick man! Maybe you can show it to me this year!
It is! And I didn’t even show/ride the extra gnarly bonus lines and slabs 😬 A person could be out there all day scoping out and riding stuff.
Hit me up Jordan when you come to town! We ride this trail a lot and can show you some "alternate lines" on it that make it even harder. It's a rowdy trail that we're stoked to share.
@@TheLoamRanger Let's go ride the slab wall!
From a local. :P seriously fun trail, this and prospector keep it fun around there.
Yeah I've done that trail before...both ways...without putting a single foot down the entire time...on a Walmart bike...with two flat tires...with no brakes or chain...with 2 broken legs...while eating a bowl of nails... without any MILK 🤥 😂😂😂
Legend. 🤯 😂
You are too modest Boosted. You should have mentioned how you did it without putting a foot down on a unicycle that was missing it seat & pedals.
I actually rode upside down the whole entire trail
Legend has it the trail builder actually rode up and down this trail on a penny farthing...His ride single handedly launched the 29er/wagon wheel movement as he proved bigger wheels are better...
Double black? That's a blue trail where I ride!
- Some random guy on the internet.
👌🏼😂
Ha! This looks and chunky rock is normal Arizona riding.
I can think of a few lines in southern Wyoming that can approach this level of slabby tech, just minus the huge cliffs and a lot shorter. That looks like a seriously demanding trail, it looks like double black grade tech most of the way.
@Bas Bakker LOL, better stick to lawn bowling then.
This. Unironically. ua-cam.com/video/b53UzDjtw-s/v-deo.html
'i thought i was in OK shape!' story of my life
I second that!
You know it's sketchy when it even looks sketchy on the GoPro...
The camera you have on top of your helmet is so sweet. Love the shots from it! What I love about your videos compared to other UA-cam mtbers is the quality of your footage. Definitely top notch filmmaker. Keep up the great work!
"doesn't look too steep.." 360 head cam - MIND BLOW. Love Gopro but so glad you included the other cam for better point of view. Epic trail, epic riding.
Oh man ... this is seriously one of the coolest videos / trails I have seen on a UA-cam. Well done!
I have Cleaned this trail, no dabs, no stopping, with the steep reverse slab drop included. This is probably the best trail for the Old School Rider. Great video, welcome to the Valley.
After a stressful day, nothing is better than the sound of the tires on the trail... Great vid Man👍
This is seriously one of the best MTB videos I've seen! I mean the trail! And then the scenery!! Bravo!
8:59 made me gasp. Looked like he was about to yeet himself off a cliff lol
That part is not as bad as it looks - tons of traction on that rock. Just watch your speed going over it in order to avoid striking your bottom bracket. The part that I always struggle with is the end (very loose, often windy, lots of exposure and somewhat difficult to pick the right line).
First time I've seen a gopro mounted like that make the trail look scary.
Too funny to watch you ride. I pick the exact same lines you pick! It's funny how you have an internal programing that decides your line choices based on a risk assessment/fun assessment, and for me a the will this wash out my front end or lead me off the trail? Awesome video. Thanks for not doing the repetitive wow or screaming that many other rider seem to feel they need to do while making a video!!
This is Awesome! I've been wanting to ride this trail since last season and never got around to it this video was exactly what I needed to get out there. cheers
The view with the endless trees was simply beautiful. Great video. Again :)
On the bucket list for this year! Awesome video man!
Looks amazing super techy ! 🤙🌞☀️🌲🌲🚵🌲🌲 Great camera work !
Great video Ryan. trail looks great - video quality is solid!
Great video. Nice to finally see a good edit of this trail. There are so many different natural line choices up there, would be good to see Remy hitting the slab at 8:26! You guys may have missed it, it’s squeaky bum time there.
Looks amazing! Would definitely ride that.. just need to get out there.
the view is INCREDIBLE! You're so brave and talented!
Thanks Kate! It was a fun one 😍
My fav vid over on BKXC's channel is this very same trail. You did the trail proud and showed great skills. Great vid, and its in your back yard to. Liv'in the dream! Well done
You have progressed so much with your riding. It is really inspiring. 👍👍👍
Nice, finally you rode this trail been waiting for your video on this.
Absolutely beautiful up there, you guys are blessed with those views! Also, nice "go ninja" reference!
It's great you can hear the wind & yet still hear your voice & other sounds clearly. Some epic views there too!
That was nuts! I got stomach butterflies just watching that. Also knowing it's not too far from where I live in Calgary. Scary stuff! Especially when you had the cliff on the side. I kept leaning to the right! :)
I 'm sure I love these videos because of the beautiful sunlight, blue sky, towering trees and hearing you say, "Siiick!"
Wow that’s a absolutely amazing trail with so many variations in the terrain. Great riding and video. Looks steep and fun but probably to much for my skill level on some of those drops.
Wow, just the views alone make this trail worth it. Looks so much fun.
Totally.
Cool video!! Nice!!
Hope you are staying safe out there!
Subscribed! Craziness man!! Good on you guys for the the successful "challenge accepted!"
You are Canadian eh?
😂🙊
OMG dude! All in all, this is one of the most beautiful trails I've ever seen. Maybe one day. 🌟
Great video! I just did razors Friday. It is nice to see a trail on video so fresh in my mind! The notch has a second option to the left. I find it more sketchy but easier. Check it out next time!
Also saw you at moose with the family, really cool to see you in my area!! Have you rode Jean guy yet? I think you might like it! Thanks for the videos!
Nice! Ya Will checked out the b-line on the Notch. Also a cool line.
Rode Jean Guy last week! Such a fun one.
This trail reminds me a lot of the trails around Phoenix where I live. Lots of big rocks and sharp shale, loose, steep slabs, etc. Very fun stuff.
Been following Will for some time, seen a few of your videos but I didn't realize you're local to Calgary now! Cheers - got a new sub!
Been wanting to try out Razors edge for some time, but I just can't muster up the courage.
Nice! Razors is just fine if you take it in sections. Nothing wrong with walking the parts you’re not up for. 👍🏼
the helmet cam combined with the chest mount was the best combo of angles I have ever seen. I really got an appreciation for the chunkies and steeps of the trail. Epic.
One of my favourite trails in the area. Rode it a few days ago. It's in great shape
Any plans to ride and record Prospector? Imho it has some really amazing features and fun factor worthy of a video like this. Great work! Razer's Edge put some fear into me when I rode it.
Looks an amazing trail, Hopefully coming over next year from UK and would love to ride this trail.
I love that top helmet cam. Definitely gives you a better perspective of the terrain and line choice. Those trails look so rad!
Great riding and amazing views! You've got a new sub here :)
Absolutely beautiful there man!
Rode this trail a couple years ago and a full xc bike on xc tires did great had a blast is on my list to do again this year on the new whip
I rode it June 30 2019. I'll be back in 2021 a few times on it. It's a favorite. We had similar wind, maybe a bit higher that day.
Brilliant looking Trail !
You should check out the trail 'it' in town. There's a few other classic old school freeride trails in canmore that not too many people ride these days as well.
THIS is mountain biking! So rad
Wow. Nice one. Fantastic views.
Although the quality of the image from the helmet cam looks a bit lower, it just adds up greatly to the video, showing the slope grade! Really good!
And are you using zoom on your camera on the first shot of the video? How many meters long are your arms? hahaha
Looks absolutely bonkers. It also looks so beautiful!
Try Prairie View/Jewell Pass on the other side of the mountain (access from Barrier Lake in Hwy 40). It’s a fast rooty and rocky trail with an easy (technically speaking) up , although it gets steep towards the end and requires you to climb up some rocks
I love this trail. Did it on a xc bike once. Stupid idea lol. There are a lot of steep parts that the go pro does no justice. That big rock slab that goes into the ditch that is super loose gets the blood pumping. So glad you are able to show case some Alberta trails. Have you tried husky road by moose mountain yet? Long climb nice new trails.
What amazing views and an amazing trail!!
As an aspiring UA-cam MTB content creator this video is amazing. The production is great, multi cam used really well and the riding is fantastic. Cannot believe I have just discovered this channel. I am late to every party 😂
now you just gotta get out west to canada to check it out! I can always return the favor of awesome recommended trails!
Such a great trail. One of my favourites. But definitely can humble a great rider on a bad day. Make sure the double-black diamond difficulty is within your ability if you do venture out to ride this. It is not for beginners. Great job for your first time!
Agreed! Thanks Justin
Such a sick trail, beautiful part of the world. Ive been lucky enough to visit Canmore a few times
Sick! That’s right above the factory thing
Nice ride brother, where was that? this trail... this place has an amazing view, so beautiful.
Nice riding man! Looks like your skills are improving with each video. One question, what access did you use to get to the trailhead? I don't live terribly far from this so i would like to check it out sometime.
I cannot say it for certain, but I built this trail. It was about 2001 when I first arrived in canmore and this trail was little more than a game trail and the line where the water would follow in the spring then. I used to hike my bike straight up shat ever mountains I could back then. Grotto mountain also has some good suffrage to its summit in this style. Glad to see people are riding it
Me and a buddy saw a trail near our area around blacksmith fork canyon in Utah. It was a short trail. Only .9 miles long, but we neglected to check the elevation. We got there ready to tackle any double black possible only to realize why people say it was such a formidable trail. It’s apparently 1300 feet of elevation in only a mile. It was a 47 percent grade most of the way up comprised of loose gravel and shale.
You post the best MB videos! Sending good vibes from Maine!!
Thanks Sophie!
Still a fave trail. A few times through and youll have it. Get it a couple days after a rain when the dirt is tack and the roots and rocks are dry.
I'd drive from Vancouver just for this trail. Looks amazing. Great vid.
There’s so much great riding in this area! Worth the trip, for sure.
probably the best motivator out there!!! LEGEND!!!
That thumbnail photo, LIT...literally!
That trail seems fairly tricky! I’d call it a win just not getting hurt out there! Y’all have fun out there!
Agreed haha. So fun though!
Sketchy terrain! - Well done!!
crazy rocky trails!
Gnarly trail... the most diversified terrain for one trail as I've personally ever seen. I would love to give this a go despite not being much of a climber.
I rode this for the first time last week. It's hard to do it justice on camera. Good work!
Definitely! I was hoping the helmet cam would help at least a little.
This trail sealed the deal on me buying an enduro bike. I did it on my 120mm giant stance with low level brakes and the whole time I was thinking “I don’t have enough brakes for this”. Oh, also we followed a guy THAT WAS RIDING A CROSS BIKE!! Maniac!!
Holy crap! Ya good brakes and tires are a must.
Dagger rocks and looseness, pretty much sums up the Okanagan lol. I really, like really, really, want to ride this. Headed out that way in a couple weeks... not sure if I can sneak away for a ride...
Lots of peeps have ridden the whole trail with no dabs, it's hard but doable. There's plenty of more challenging riding around here (especially on the down), you just need to go looking for it.
awesome video as always 😊 I don’t think I’ll be ready to ride this trail for a few more years 😊 one thing I gotta ask you though is that the rental shop where I was renting that Pivot Firebird 29er is no longer renting it and the closest they’ve got to that is the Yeti SB150, you think that might be a good alternative to the Firebird or should I find a different bike?
13:23 spectacular view...if you can take your eyes off the trail.
What an amazing trail to have as a local, wow
Calgarian here...been planning on knowing this one off...but looping it from Barrier Lake.
Hope you loving Canmore man, sweet place to be living! How do you like the Ripmo out on these trails? Just watched a vid of you on Lebens!
Wild!!
Definitely some pucker
GoPro effect is real on this trail. Razors is on my top 5 favorite trails. First time I rode it was with the Calgary cycle group ride, by time we got to the big slab it was dark. So scary and so fun. Your right all you can do is laugh on that trail
Awesome trail!
I don’t even need my bike for that one. Just a pair of hiking shoes and even then I think some sections would feel sketch! Great job riding and staying on the upside of those cliffy sections!
sweet trail!!!
Razors is a beast. A true double black and more when it's windy on the final descent.
Incredible view at 13:20. So cool.
They're opening up the border soon!!! You can come back to BC!
Reminds me slightly of highline in Sedona. Especially bc it’s just as hard up as it is down
Very true!
love natural trial... flow and jumps is fun but seems like thats mostly what you see now. That notch at the 6 minute point looks nuts even on GoPro :O
The views were as crazy good as the trail!!!!
They’re incredible!
What a beautiful place!
First of all, where is this? Second of all, even through the GoPro effect it still looked super steep and gnarly! Well done boys!!!!!
I grew up in Alberta…the wind is no joke - eh!? I would love to ride/ walk that trail!
Looks like an epic decent, great vid 👍
The views look so beautiful
Do you run your tires tubeless? Is that the way to go... newish rider question , love your channel man!
Luv this video.. thats a mountain biking!💪🚵♂️😉
That trail looks like New England! Our bread and butter is narrow with big roots and sharp rocks lol
