Awesome video. Congrats on b-day and nice stag! thank you for giving so much back to the industry. You are changing that young man's life and inspire a lot more lives. I love your jump at the dead stag's reflexes and an awesome end to the video!😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 keep 'em coming
Thanks Jamie, couldn’t ask for a better bday present than that! Only took me 20 years to make it happen 😂. I’ve been lucky either side of that day but we got there in the end. 👍🏾
Nice stag! Im' keen to know if you followed up the first one you shot? that much blood he wouldn't have been too far away no doubt. Didn't see the question asked previously in comments.
Hey Luke, certainly did mate. We were on our hands and knees for hours. He had travelled with small drops of blood an entire system for more than 600m. The clearing I though he may have sat down at as it had good beds and thickets was where we shot the next day thinking that was him. We then looked again but could not find further blood or tracks. I tried again two weeks later but got snowed out and no vehicle access for a while after that. I’ve passed a lot on that face so will continue to track out sections when I’m back in the area. We have had deer shot like this show up on our cameras totally healed. A recent stag had three healed gun shot wounds with captive projectiles 30cal or bigger inside him. Still dominating the other stags. Very tough animals to say the least.
@@IntotheMountains Thanks for the inspiration. I new nothing about Sambar before your videos. I am from the central coast so I never get to meet any sambar hunters. I have now done a couple of trips to Vic and have managed to take some nice stags. Now they are some of my best hunting experiences.
Amazing video as always and very good vibes! On a previous video you said you use sellier ballot 162 grain in 7mm rem mag. Are you still shooting them? Where do you buy? Thanks
Was a great trip all round for young kayde. He’ll be a great hunter if he stays with it all. The shoulder rig is something I made up using a few camera accessories and a lot of playing around to get a good balance of composure. I lost a fair bit of kit in the process but it works well now 😅
What a pisser vid Daz loved every minute of it great stag great birthday party and awesome time with mates around the campfire it doesn't get any better than that and a new young recruit added to the hunting scene fantastic.
Cheers Rod! I had a few chuckles while editing this one. I loved having Geoff at nearly 70 years old and young kayde at 12 along for the ride. Just goes to show anyone can get out there and do it. 👍🏾
Great vid Daz. All new to it. That open area you were hunting. What distance would you be hoping to shoot at if one did come out? Trying to workout what distance I need to be in order to get a good shot without them scenting me. I’m 10 months in with 21 hunts and still haven’t dropped a deer. Appreciate any info
Hey mate, my lense can make it look further away than it seems. Not many of my shots are further than 100m. All of the clearings we sit on are close up. 30 to 100 most of them. I find the quiet little clearings more likely to hold deer than the bigger ones.
That was an epic way to celebrate your birthday Daz many happy returns form the Albino oversized platypus to the Yeti at the end bloody brilliant bit of crack as us paddy's would say.
Hey Daz, great video and awesome birthday stag mate. i am the old bloke who was in the shop on thursday and gave you grief with my vouchers. I got my last stag which i told you the size of, and it was only about half the size of yours and i got mine 2 weekends before you and guess what, i shot mine on my birthday too, (11th April) so nice to here you've joined the exclusive birthday stag club. not too many people can say that, hey ! Congrats mate
Haha no hassles mate. Glad we got it sorted. Yes I’ve been chasing a birthday model for over 20 birthdays and finally did it. Another personal mission impossible goal set that took way longer than I though but is so much sweeter in the end.
I thought he was mate, only 200m from where we lost the blood trail but this guy only had the one hole in him. We couldn’t get back in there due to snow cover. I’m still thinking about him and will keep looking. He very well at may have survived a low brisket shot.
What a great trip and bottler of a stag ,when will the Victorian government realise the value of samba are with the amount of money spent by hunters each year and the attraction to the high country they create for many, stop this ridiculous culling programs and manage the hunting resource that creates much more gains than loses for many
Your right there Scotty. There is another current attempt to take away the game status of these magnificent deer. All I can do is help as many of the right minded hunters to keep up the sustainable harvesting and procurement of food for our families. At the end of the day, the food argument will be the strongest one for us when it comes to these wackos trying to poison everything
Sometimes we just have to have a laugh at ourselves hey😂. There’s always a lot of humour in our camp so I thought I better start sharing it a bit. 👍🏾👍🏾
Great video !! Great company 🎉

@@IntotheMountains Yeah they're tough alright, good effort and happy hunting!
Is this on public land? I have never hunted sambar before.
Absolutely Matthew! Alpine national park.

Cheers Warwick! We did mate but no luck. I tried to get back in a couple of weeks later but too much snow unfortunately
Well done team. What a ripper stag. Was that the infamous Yowie at the end there lols.
Haha cheers Charlie! Had to edit in the traditional birthday suit dash! 😅
Great to see you taking out the young fella. A good video Daz.
Question, what's the shoulder rig you've got for your camera?
Was a great trip all round for young kayde. He’ll be a great hunter if he stays with it all.

Nice stag, congrats!
Thanks Darvin!
🤘🏻good one daz
We’ll done daz great vid as always and awesome birthday stag congrats 👍. What projectile you using in your 7mm rem .
Hey Bronwyn, projectiles have been hard to get Lately so I was down to my back up ammo. This guy went down to a sako hammerhead.
@@IntotheMountains cheers daz👍
The lad looks like he could be in Freestyler music clip
Kaydes a man of many talents, it wouldn’t surprise me.

#points gun at friends @ 1:28. Reason I don't like the Stalker Sling.
Not even close Nick. It’s a wide angle lens and that rifle is almost straight up in the air. It’s also not a stalker sling.
