Good to see Addictive Fishing with Capt. Blair Wiggins come down to south Texas and film a couple of shows with one of our local Captains Brian Barrera. Hope there is more shows to come. Fish on!
Awesome video! Snook are showing up all along the coast. All be it not in great numbers but they are here. There was one over 30” caught this winter in Matagorda.
I’ve caught 6 (One Fat 20”)Snook this Spring, near Galveston of all places. Everydang one was over 30” , no lie. 32” was my PB. 5-20 lb class Tarpon too
Hey Blair, what rod length/action/power do you recommend for fishing reds and trout in Louisiana? looking into purchasing one of the new M2s. oh and size of spinning reel also?
That record is considered by many to be complete bs, including the igfa, which is why it isn't a world record and hardly mentioned by anyone other than prideful texans. Look in to the supposed catch a bit and you'll see why many, inculding myself, are skeptical.

Remember fishing Union Carbide discharge mid January 1965. Giant Trout and Snook under the lights. Very finicky, then they would turn on and lookout.

if anyone else has recommendations drop them here! thanks
I like the 7'6". If you hook into a monster, you are well equipped. anything smaller and it may take a while to get a big girl to the boat.
Can I put a 4000 size reel on a 7'6 m2 rod or would it not be balanced like having a smaller reel like you used?
SnapRasta yes you can I snook fish in south Florida and that’s the exact combo I use
My new spot
Texas' current state record is 57.2 lbs caught in 1937 on the Gulf beach off Padre Island.
