Just followed the step by step instructions and it worked as described for my 2001 X1. Just one thing to note - I got a front end collision warning failure when I restarted the car. Squeaky bum time!!!!
Frightened me a bit that I had screwed something up so I put the original fuse back in and the warning disappeared. I then retried the fuse replacement again and the warning stayed off. Phew! Anyway thanks PJ - I never would have tried it without your step by step instructions.

Just be very careful when removing the side panel (at minute 4:10 of the video) that you don't inadvertantly pull the plug from the airbag switch which is mounted on the panel. If you do, you'll get a passenger restraint warning when you complete the installation and switch on the ignition for the first time and the only way to remove the warning is to get a Reset from someone who owns a Reset piece of kit. Don't go to the main dealer for the Reset cos they'll charge you an astonomical amount.

can you please let me know I have a Viofo dashcam which has three wires ground plus 2 as below, so I know yellow I will install as you did it in this video but which fuse should I use for the red wire. I will install it in BMW x1.
    Battery Wire (RED)
To identify a fuse for the battery connection, turn the ignition switch to the lock position. Look for a fuse that is live (allows electricity to flow) even when the ignition switch is in the off position. You can identify the fuse by applying a fuse/circuit/voltage test device when the engine is off. Place the tip of the tester on the exposed metal part of the fuse.
    ACC Wire (YELLOW)
To identify a fuse for the ACC connection, turn the ignition switch to the ACC (Accessory) position. Look for a fuse that is live when the ignition switch is in the ACC position but off when the ignition switch is in the off position.

What fuse is best for a permanently live feed? The Nextbase 622 has parked function so ignition or fuses that are not perma live won't do.
I've used fuse 42 on my 2019 BMW X1, but there is literally no I formation out there on whether or not that's a good fuse to use!

@@jed7200 No. I thought I fixed it, but didn't. Recommend you go to Halfords if you're in the UK.

At 3.40 where you're going behind the airbag by pinching that rubber bit, can you please get a better angle of how you did that as mine doesn't come away and I'm scared I'll rip the rubber if I pull hard
