I went on my first date widowed after 40 years and he was a widow too. I drove to his house and he drove to dinner. It must have gone great we are 8 years married now.
These are great outfits for date nights with your husband too! I met my husband 10 years ago (I was 50) and we’ve been inseparable since! I love dressing sexy (but tasteful) for him, and for myself.
Fun fact: A colleague told me after my previous divorce that I was too old to find a man, that men in their 50s want younger women. I cried and cried, then a few weeks later met the man I’m currently married to:) NEVER let anybody play mind games with you!!
Oh I love this story and it’s so true! I had a friend of mine tell me the same thing and the last 2 guys I’ve dated were 51 and happy to date a 50 year old because they said they had nothing in common with the younger ones. ❤️❤️
Heather, all the outfits look fantastic on you. I know that you’re a stylist though and I’d love to see you style some women - maybe your friends? - who don’t have your perfect figure or ability to wear heels. I love when you say “the fit is impeccable” because it would not be impeccable on me! And I’m not overweight or ugly - I just don’t have your thin hourglass body. Some of us have different body types and still like to look fashionable!!

Your favorite question- about a person’s last relationship and what it was like or how did it end-- my now husband basically refused the r was uncomfortable talking about any of his past relationships with me until several years into our relationship- in which then he opened up completely. I asked why he wouldn’t talk about the subject early on and his answer was - our relationship had nothing to do with past relationships and he also respected prior relationships as to not talk about private relationships. I totally respect him for that and so should the women who previously had a relationship with this utmost standing respectful man.
He was also uninterested in knowing or talking about any of my past relationships, too.

Asking deep questions was my favorite tip, but all of your tips are good. As for first dates, I can't imagine going on multiple first dates. I'm a boomer married 55 years, but even when I was young, my dating life was very spare. As for total strangers, that alone would be a red flag.

Heather, you absolutely rocked every single one of those outfits. They are all classy and tastefully sexy without being too revealing. I think all your dating tips are spot on, and I'm also very happy not to have to navigate the dating scene at my age (happily married for 27 years). Your experience with that situationship happend to me too at age 22. It was exactly as you described, and tore me apart emotionally, but it was a learning experience also for me to trust my instincts. So many people play games, but it sounds like you might have found a good one. Glad you're having fun.

I am so thankful I never had to “date” - my relationships typically were always friendships where we did things together that were so natural and organic and the “relationship” part grew out of the friendship and fun we had together - which were never “dates.” I have no idea how this happens with me - so naturally- but I am extremely grateful it’s been totally organic and natural within my life and therefore, I never had to “date” a man!

These are all great outfits. I have a question. Could you please make a video about some stylish yet super comfortable things to wear when just hanging out at home or doing work from home (non-zoom calls!) or lazy weekend wear that's not sloppy? sometimes I want to dress stylish and comfortable just for myself, or for a quick dog walk, or a chat with neighbors. I don't want to get 'dressed up' but kind of tired of the sweats and t-shirt look. I have started to wear some nicer sweaters and tank sweaters and that seems to be working, but I am at a loss for nicer bottoms or shorts, short skirts, etc. Thanks so much for all you do!!

Thanks for the video...Great tips although I differ from your opinion on wide leg jeans on a 1st, 2nd or any time...I think with most things even skinny leg jeans which are not trending as much today...It really depends more on your shape and some shapes will look better in a skinny leg jean as some might look better in a wide leg jean...My favorite jeans are wide leg which have been altered and they are very flattering on me and on trend if you follow trends...I'm 57 and have gotten so many compliments because I believe they compliment my shape nicely and especially in heels. I think people just need to know what looks good on them and that means experimenting sometimes...You're tall, thin and fabulous...but we don't all have you stature or figure. lol IJS...Thank you for your video.

@@monicalong1371 just being slim doesn’t make you look tall, lol. I know plenty of slim women who do not dress as fabulously as Heather…why do you think we all tune in here? Her great fashion sense and her ability to maximize her strengths. Even though I am not thin, I have learned a lot from her, and I use the same ideas she teaches to make myself look taller (I’m 5’2”).

Since the data says 1 in 6 people is narcissistic, it is important to weed them out. One early test you can do is to tell them “no” with a smile to a request they make. Observe how they react…a narcissist will have a hard time dealing with a no. Since we are more agreeable in the beginning of relationships, we get lured in by the narcissist easily, and then it is harder to get away.
