You’re probably my favorite channel right now. You’ve really helped my understanding of chess and you’ve said some insightful things I’ll take with me forever. (Especially with the ladies lol)
No, but really, that chess is a lifetime journey.
It really takes the stigma off for constantly improving, and to just enjoy the game. To experiment and value the losses as much as revel on the wins.
You’ve really left this impression on me. I hope you can make your dreams come true of doing this full time.
Btw. I would love to see more duels against live players. Your ability to coherently explain positions in real time is a lot of fun to watch.
Something I’d recommend with live games is this: you should totally save sound clips of pieces moving on the board and the clack of pieces taking each other while you play online games. It would be so much fun to listen to!

I've been using a Queen opening as a response to the Silician, Magnus Carlsen style. It can be a good shock tactic against some computer engines that rely upon opening books, or weaker players who want to try to grind down your attack with some fancy opening moves. But it differs from an early queen blunder, because it's not about a relentless rampage, Mosquito Gambit style, but more of a surgical strike.
The Smith-Morra gambit is another underrated opening, too, and I learned that from your videos. I grew up learning the Ruy Lopez, but it's a bad opening in comparison as it gives you very little immediate compensation ,and alot of headaches.

30:40 I think after Qe4, Bb7 "saves" the rook, as it not only defends the rook on a8 but stops that Qd8 mate threat, right? I only mention it because when I paused to figure this one, I saw Qe4 right away but almost gave up on it due to Bb7. Tried everything to keep that mate alive, when I finally realized - duh - white can just capture Qxb7! I often over-rate defenses like that. Anyway, thanks for another great vid.

    • @ASMRChess

That is impossible to say. If you have never played a real game of chess then a high puzzle rating is meaningless since there are so many other factors that can cost you a game besides tactics. Still it sounds like you are really good at puzzles which is always a good thing!
