Why Levy WILL Become a Grandmaster ♔ ASMR

  • Levy is a remarkable guy and even though many doubt him, I firmly believe he will make it to GM. In this video I analyze his chess and explain why I have faith in him. Please note that this is an ASMR video and is intended for relaxation and sleep. I speak in a slow, soft voice that occasionally drops to a whisper. This is meant to soothe you, relax you and give you tingles.

I had no idea that people were criticizing him over this. That's absolutely insane! Like I know becoming a grandmaster is hard, but you don't need to be a prodigy to do it. Hell, Van Gogh didn't even become a painter until he was 27. He wasn't a prodigy, he was just good

It’s fascinating to me that we accept young age as the time when our brains are capable of rising to the highest ranks in chess, yet in all other expectations of life we tend to underestimate young minds. This is especially pronounced when we look at which age groups are trusted in positions of leadership.

I like that you made this kind of video. I personally really enjoy hearing what other people think about the world (including people because you know, they are part of the world), especially when they show articulation and reflection in their words. I can tell you came to these conclusion from a derivative method of information. Things lead to other things...etc. I think a lot of people say things because they heard other people say it and then forget to do the most important thing which is to confirm the information for you self or figure out if the source was credible. Perhaps cause that doesn't sound fun and they don't care enough.
Sounds judgmental from me but actually it's more of an observation than a suggestion to change. I don't think I know what is the right direction of change for most people. I just see the direction from me to others and see how good or bad the path is!

Levy has plenty of time to become a grandmaster, as he is still young. Larry Kaufman didn't become a grandmaster until his 60's, after a lifetime contributing to computer chess as a developer and consultant for many computer chess projects.
The most important thing somebody like Levy needs to do in his quest, besides his chess studies, is protect his health and maintain some physical fitness, because plenty of chess masters have been cut short by poor health. Chess is a more physically demanding sport than people realize, and if it takes a long time to become a grandmaster, you are going to have to fight the physical and mental effects of aging, which can begin as early as one's 30's.
