      Don't try memorize openings. As soon as someone goes off the lines you'll have no idea what to do. Check out Amman Hambletons building habbits on Chess Brah extra- I think that's the best way to learn principled chess.
      Not that this isn't a great video (it's great), but if you're stuck in the pit, I don't think openings like this are going to lift you too much. Learn to attack the centre and not blunder your peices :D

    • @drewm3807
      @drewm3807 2 роки тому +24

      At 200, or really anything below 1500, your fastest way to improve is to remember to blunder check before every move.

    Man, I remember years ago when I first started watching your channel. It was like this magical channel with a few thousand subscribers that just put out the most awesome content. It was the only place I could find asmr + chess. Sometimes the channel would stop uploading for a while, but so many of us would check almost weekly for a new upload because we loved this channel so much, and we knew when you came back it would be great. I’m so happy that you seem to be in a good place, and I feel so lucky/grateful we get these frequent videos & you get to be recognized for your efforts with sponsors and 50k subscribers. Wishing you the best and excited to see what’s next. Looking forward to 100k 👀

    Loved the video, and that sample game was amazing. I've run into 9. Qd5 after [ 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e5 3. dxe5 Ng4 4. Nf3 Bc5 5. e3 Nc6 6. a3 a5 7. Be2 Ngxe5 8. Nxe5 Nxe5 9. Qd5 d6 ] a couple of times which the engine likes for black, but it's a real downer to not be able to play the rook swing : ( I guess a more 'traditional' attack would be in order here...

    Thanks for the ideas! I’ve been having way more fun with this gambit. I have been having trouble where often after Qe7 my opponent plays e3, opening the bishop, giving the king more space, and forcing trades until I’m down a pawn in a room endgame. Could you go through those lines in your follow up video?

      yes but you have to give me the exact moves up to Qe7 so I'm sure I'll be giving advice on the correct position.

      @@ASMRChess Here’s an example of what I’ve been experiencing 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e5 3. dxe5 Ng4 4. Bf4 Bc5 5. e3 d6 6. Nc3 Nc6 7. exd6 cxd6 8. be2 Nge5 9. a3 a5 10. Bxe5 Nxe5 11. Nf3 O-O 12. Nxe5 dxe5 13. Qxd8 Rfxd8 after that I’m down a pawn and struggling for a draw

    After 'completing' the defence, should I look to clean up the fourth rank or pin the rook?

    Beautiful video! i've been following the opening and have encounted the move e3 instead of h3 at 14:21. Haven't found an efective move to end in a favorable position. Any ideas??

      My idea is taking the knight on d2. You lose your check mating trap so you have to trade the bishop off so it doesn’t get trapped
