I enjoy the common logic within this fictitious setting. You: "Why always staffs? Why no wands?" Andy: "Staffs are bigger, they enhance magical users more than wands by providing a larger item to store magic within, a longer item to cast magic further & an item that can be wielded in melee even if only to defend oneself." Me: "I like that, it makes sense even though none of this is real!"
One of the great mysteries of WHFB to me is why GW never made models for the Chikdren of Ulric (not the zealots, the werewolves mentioned in one of the original Gotrek and Felix stories that were collected in Trollslayer)
With how big a deal Middenland/Middenheim it surprises me to no end that we don't have a actual playable faction of Middenland/Cult of Ulric/Boris Todbringer in Total War Warhammer!
Let’s not kid ourselves here, no elgi could ever hope to match the might of a true dawi in combat. And anyone who thinks otherwise is a straight up wazzok.
Funnily enough, there was a Thieves' Guild mentioned in Mordheim, although in that case it's a local institution. Moreover, it's a branch of the bigger Trade's Guild, which is basically a front for several gang leaders who decided to unionise in order to take control of Mordheim's flow of commerce. They opted to come together in order to confront the oppresive power of the various merchants' guildd that ran the cities in the Count's absence and, funnily enough, the gangs won
You touched on Laurelorn in this episode. I wonder if there's enough info to do a stream on them, because I'd absolutely love to explore them in depth and find out how they differ from the asrai of Athel Loren and their other cousins, from societal structure and special characters to their ways of warfare (if any)
1:10:20 the story of Sigmar and the Teuticans (ancient Middenheimers). 1:36:00 The fire of Ulric and its effects on the Teuticans/Middenheimers 2:00:00 On sigmar's time, the Northern Empire liked magic and the middle of the empire hated/feard/distrusted magic 2:18:50 Middeheim elves/Lorelorn Forest Elves/Eanir Elves
Hold on.. if Ghur has a fountain in the world that’s seperate from the Polar Gates.. ..does that mean the Fire-Mouth could be the same for Aqshy? Or the Oak of Ages for Gyran?
To continue this fun thought experiment: would the plain of bones be a fountain shyish then? Presumably dragons have been dying there since before the old ones? Azyr would be drawn to whatever the mountains were where the dragon emperor slumbered.
I love how Andy starts telling the story of Middenheim with his teenager years... he is the story of Warhammer. ;) Btw, I always thought of Middenball as something closer to Rugby.
Man, a third attempt would be most glorious, complete with Cathay and Kislev and Chaos Dwarfs! They don't even need to scrap the End Times as a whole (as Sotek says, there are indeed good concepts and ideas in there), mostly the janky, stupid decisions characters start to make in the latter part of the story. As for the rest, it's mostly a matter of filling in holes and missing parts of the narrative (the reason it feels so rushed in the first place)
"And they have this big festival with illuminations!" Cool! "And they stand around this lake, which they call the Black Pool" ... oh no... "And they call it the Black Pool Illuminations" Ohgodwhy. Middenheim property values just went down.
Man, whenever I have a bad day I'm just going to come back to Andys Middenheim impression. You guys fucking ROCK!

These are so good. More long form lore content like this please! Like the addition of visuals too!
You know I always thought middenheim and Ulric were pretty overrated. You guys definitely convinced me otherwise!
Wow, this was great. Now I can understand Middenheim for what it is and not just another Empire city
Another wonderful stream from these two. I can’t wait till the next vote is posted.
Are we ever gonna get Krenlo vs Gelt in your vs series? Mostly joking but I think it would be a riot.
Maybe owlcat gaming will get to do a Warhammer fantasy since they just did a 40k game
Great episode! The rich tapestry of lore is so great get relax and let your imagination swim through
Rooftop gardens and hanging gardens could be an interesting solution for growing food.
Very pleased I found this when looking up WFRP resources, very interesting stuff guys!
I love the way Andy is gavinf a Nod to the gnomes hope GW introduce them to warhammer the old world

Isn't the Oak of Ages subject to the changes of the winds though?

Azazel and Sigmar did have a scrap in Middenheim
Ironic that one of the empires greatest defenses, I'd staffed by a lot of Ulricans eh?

I knew Sotek was a Scalie but now he's a furry too?

That's not a mountain, it's more of a plateauuuoooooo! (getting thrown off the top)
I am getting more and more excited for the 3rd attempt at the End Times. Storm of End Times!
