Having learned of lorebeards is a godsend, long discussion based content, lore and warhammer in one package with a huge backlog. My workdays will be bearable for so much longer now
agreed I like the biast oppinion and the rare abilaty for youtube streamers to admit this and then take a step back from there "I freaking love this point of vieuw"
It's super cool listening to him talk about a subject he's particularly passionate about. I was starting to get goosebumps from him describing Tehenhauin's zeal starting to infect the saurus and kroxigors.
You know as much as I like what they've done with Seraphon in Age of Sigmar its kind of a bummer that they don't give that much attention to Sotek. Especially because A: Sotek already manifested in physical form in Warhammer Fantasy and B: Age of Sigmar is inherently a setting where gods directly interact with the mortal world, so there should be no real reason Sotek can't physically appear in the Mortal Realms to go and devour billions of Skaven.
Love this. This was my first lorebeards, and the first video about any lore I've watched and it is about the LL i used for my first legendary full map completion of IE.
Tww2 is how i got into warhammer, always looked dinky and basic til i saw the skaven and lizardmen. Kroc gar was who got me to love the lizardmen as we took over the world. As was planned.
I just want to note that although many people say that it's undeniable that Sotek physically manifested at the battle of Fuming Serpent Island, reading between the lines introduces some ambiguity. Sotek is said to have emerged from the volcano, slithered down the mountainside (driving the skaven before him) and dove into the sea, hissing as he did so. That could be a description of a living god - or it could be a description of a miraculous lava flow that boiled the seawater as it poured into the sea. There's one source that makes this association slightly more explicit, but I can't find it right now.
Tbh, given how Chaos works, it could really be both. Like Chaos exists out of time, so if enough skinks believe the lava flow was a manifestation of their god, it very well could have BECOME their god in that moment.
I have always loved warhammer lore and I just got recommended this podcast! I can't believe i've never watched the lorebeards discuss some of my favorite fantasy. Cheers!
Thanks for the deep dive on this character and the background. Very interesting and I love that he is what helped spark the Lizardman races to have emotions and evolve.
This was a great video, I never knew they were that complex. The whole development of religion and the alienness of the old ones was super interesting.
I am loving these interviews! So much lore!! Huge fan btw and recently my gaming group just called me Loremaster Ryan, so I guess I should thank you for all of the lore i have consumed from this channel lol! Love it.
I really enjoy your new Lorebeards format with Andy. For someone who prefers Tomb Kings / human type of factions, it really gave me an appreciation of factions I haven't considered before like the Lizardman. Would love to see something on the Skaven, maybe a deconstruction of Thanquol, or a focus on one of the major clans.
I have an idea for future episodes, since it's such a common question: People often ask what is X race/character's views on X race. That should have it's own section (2 hours into the video, so not sure if it has one here, but would be a cool section going forward on race/character specific discussions) It's always neat to see their views on the world at large
Ulha’up, while being meme worthy, could also be an interesting story piece like what if this guy actually made it to the old world? It would give a reason for skink player characters in a game set in the old world. But also how would the old world respond? Even if he wasn’t a very powerful slann, compared to most humans he would be a walking bomb. Would this force the humans into negotiations where Ulha’up may even start talking to Volkmar lol. 1:57:36, 3:22:31
honestly i love that my favorite lizardman and favorite skaven are rivals (besides queek he's my main man and him and Ra have a bromance that rivals the gods themselves) and i couldnt be happier
Dang, all your passion for this topic and hobby really got to me. Getting kinda emotional about the whole story. :D Good thing for my wallet that my fiancé and I decided not to play miniature games because we would get sucked into it and never finish painting anything and just amassing stuff :D
I love the idea of the lizardmen hating outsiders being in Lustria because every time they wake up the Slaan to ask them about it, the Slaan say "go away", and they interpret that as "send the Elves away". I know thats probably not the case, but that would be very on brand. I can imagine some tablets that they can't understand because they're supposed to be interpreted by an Elf or Halfling or some other species, but they've not allowed any other race to actually see them.
It is always a joy to listen to both of you. Each time you mention so many things I would like to comment on, that this comment section is not enough 😂 Please keep it up. And if you need someone with a biology or history background for whatever reason, I am open to help
Andy singing the theme song from "Cities of Gold" YES! I have found my people! 😆 Thankyou for a fascinating insight into a very different culture! ❤ Tehenhauin sleeps beneath the howe, until Britain's need is greatest... 😍 That said, I'm not keen on either the snakes or the barbarism ;p yes, I know...
What do you think of the twin tailed comet is the great plan of the dragon emperor? Guiding and empowering a celestial body to empower the non chaos races by uplifting/empowering gods among them to oppose chaos?
If I had to guess, I'd wager that the comet that heralded the birth of Sigmar and Sotek was probably something the Old Ones set up. Somehow they knew that humanity and the Lizardmen needed their own original gods to prepare for the battles to come against Chaos, and so their Hail Mary comet was actually a God-Maker Comet. Did this actually make Sigmar and Sotek into gods? No, but it was timed in such a way that both would become venerated by their respective races and lay the foundations for a God of Humanity and a God of Lizardmen. It's not a coincidence, but it's not like Sigmar and the Gold Plaque of Sotek magically fell out of the sky because they were loaded onto a Old One's spaceship or the comet blasted Sigmar with god rays while simultaneously mutating a single member of sub-species of Skink into becoming the prophet of heretofore nonexistant god.
for the Slann the future isn't unknown, the future is known, just not to them and there are right and wrong choices. how can that not create self doubt
so im getting some 40k vibes and hear me out Skinks are humanity, they dont know whats going on or why but they do it and religiously Kroxigors are ogryn, big, kinda dumb, but actually just 'super specialized' Saurus are space marines slann are kinda.. the emperor but as multiple creatures am i wrong?
Do skavens have souls? They are creatures of chaos and as such aren't their souls taken from them? Like warriors of chaos give up their souls for power.
Really annoyed me how redcrested skinks were just recoloured skinks in Total War Warhammer. They're supposed to be bigger, stronger. More dangerous-looking.

Man I was infected with Tehenhauin’s righteous fury at the skaven. I wanted to hop on Total War just to go mess up some skaven.

Tasty Skaven.
Nutritious Skaven.
Yum
Only one more reason why AoS sucks.
While I miss Sotek, AoS Seraphon are one of the best ranges. Their refresh is god tier.
Now I understand why the Loremaster loves the Prophet so much. My new favourite Lizardmen lord and my first 4.0 campaign.
This new format is excellent!
Thanks to you two 🤩
This is epic content. Takes me back to your earliest eps of doing lore dumps on mannfred kemmler etc but even better with a 2nd person to weigh in
Love this. This was my first lorebeards, and the first video about any lore I've watched and it is about the LL i used for my first legendary full map completion of IE.
Good podcast
Thanks! I enjoyed this one!

Keep this coming! I’m on an all lore diet, and I’m not yet satisfied.
On next weeks episode, why does Andy hate Gelt so much?
Thanks for the deep dive on this character and the background. Very interesting and I love that he is what helped spark the Lizardman races to have emotions and evolve.
This has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts, I’m a huge nerd for fantasy lore so I’m always excited to see a new upload from you guys :)
Every week this is such a treat!❤️
Every child should be made to watch this as part of their education

Well this made Lizardmen a lot more interesting
i could listen to both of you for hours. Oh wait i just did
Excited to support lawham next week
Yay! We all need more LAWham!
LoSotek pretty much described my road into Warhammer Fantasy. Total war to WFRoleplay to Lawhammer
Dang, all your passion for this topic and hobby really got to me. Getting kinda emotional about the whole story. :D
Good thing for my wallet that my fiancé and I decided not to play miniature games because we would get sucked into it and never finish painting anything and just amassing stuff :D
Really hope the lore of serpents is added to the game
Someone could probably mod it into the game.

You guys are just great, incredible podcast once again
I wait for this every week :)
Imagine beeing created to chew gum, but gum hasn't been invented yet.
Andy singing the theme song from "Cities of Gold" YES! I have found my people! 😆
Thankyou for a fascinating insight into a very different culture! ❤
Tehenhauin sleeps beneath the howe, until Britain's need is greatest... 😍
That said, I'm not keen on either the snakes or the barbarism ;p yes, I know...
Fun stream, thanks!
Yay more lorebeards!
This reminds me of the south park world of warcraft episode
2:19:10 Andy quoting Kholek from the Warriors of Chaos Trailer in TWW1😅 (ua-cam.com/video/YLFztSaD908/v-deo.html) @ 00:58 "The dawning realization..."
Comment for the comment gods.
Why do so many lizardman in tww3 have dutch joke names?
All old factions have characters with ridiculous names. Lizardmen are no exception
What do you think of the twin tailed comet is the great plan of the dragon emperor? Guiding and empowering a celestial body to empower the non chaos races by uplifting/empowering gods among them to oppose chaos?
Parts of Andy Law's sound are going more quiet for random parts, ex 1:23:00
I'll check that up for next time.
These boys making wanna fire up Tehehauin's campaign, I havent done his or oxyotl's

Why were Tehenhuin stats so awful in tabletop (s4,t3,a3) ?
Litteraly a basic skaven warlord Is better, and in lore he killed them in scores
Table top is like that. He was always more of a wizard lore on table top.
When are you going to do the history of lord kroak. 😂
Thahenuin sekaiii
for the Slann the future isn't unknown, the future is known, just not to them and there are right and wrong choices. how can that not create self doubt
Rip Manfred coming soon
so im getting some 40k vibes and hear me out
Skinks are humanity, they dont know whats going on or why but they do it and religiously
Kroxigors are ogryn, big, kinda dumb, but actually just 'super specialized'
Saurus are space marines
slann are kinda.. the emperor but as multiple creatures
am i wrong?
Yes you are wrong

The average human lives for 20,000 years, but nagashgeorg is an outlier and should not be counted.
Would it be crazy to connect that to the first of the dragon children?
no timecodes no watch
