    Great video, thanks for sharing, I tried using compressed air set at 50-60psi to blow out any lint or dirt then I give the knife a shot of brake cleaner to remove any left over residue. a couple drops of thin oil. Done, Clean knife and no disasemmbly.

    Third Delica/Tasman Salt 2 I've taken apart, third time I'm using this video. I swear, Axis Lock, Compression Locks, no problem. Lockbacks, I think I spent two hours my first time. It's always great to have this video open as a primer

    Thanks for this video man. I've had the "pleasure" of disassembling multiple Delicas/Enduras and this is by far the most efficient way to do it in my experience.

    I went to the beach and forgot my Delica was in my pocket so I came home with a knife full of water and sand. Very glad you posted this video because that lock bar and lock back spring were a pain to get back in. Tried your advice and got it in the second try.

    I followed your method but found that it was easier to turn the knife over and press the liner bar pivot through from my table surface. I got it on the second attempt. This way you can actually see the holes and the pivot align from the clip side of the knife.

    I think I will just rinse my Delica 4 off in hot water and oil it where needed. Unless there is a factory defect or other problem I would leave it alone. If there is a real problem with your knife send it back to Spyderco to fix it and their warranty , there really is no need to take the knife apart and I never had too on my knife.

    I often use a thin Philips screwdriver or scribe to keep the lock back in place while work the hollow pin in place, I tilt the small screwdriver or scribe to find the a alignment for the pin, it also helps in getting the pin aligned, since it tends to deflect as it goes through he lock back and bind.

      I'm taking notes, this is becoming a mission.

      I think I saw a newly offered Spyderco knife, and Spyderco highlighted the larger screws which will help with user maintenance.

    if you start the pin before placing the lock bar, you can depress the lock bar and push the pin through with no issues.

    Thank you so much for this video. I took a buddies Delica apart thinking it would be easy like others and it kicked my butt, until I watched this. New Sub here!

    My new Delica is very stiff to open. No way I can flick it. Took it apart and lubed it and put it back together with no issues. Still too damn stiff to thumb flick it open. Loosened every damn screw on it to no avail... I've got another one coming for comparison, will see. Thanks for the great video.

      Have you done a comparison yet? If so, does it break in or get better, or was yours just defective?

    • @marksteddom6941
      @marksteddom6941 7 років тому

      The other one I received was better. I cleaned and lubed it and it works fine. The problem one did loosen up so I can flick it but it is stiffer.

      Keep opening and closing it by hand, over and over...while your reading or watching TV. It will break in and move as smooth as butter.

    i know that the clip and handle screws are t6 but are they interchangeable? are they identical in terms of head shape and thread length?

    It's so much easier putting the lockback in before putting liner/scale on.. It holds the blade and everything in place for you.

    Hi just found your channel great video very informative, would just like to ask you , I have a delica saber ground with the black handle and have just got a full flat grind zome delica , the saber grind is a thicker blade which I like better but the zome handle is fantastic, could I swap the blades over or wouldn't they fit ? Would be grateful for your thoughts. Thank

    • @Zelrick42
      @Zelrick42  7 років тому

      If they are both Delica 4s then they should fit. The Zome will be for sure the saber ground you'll have to look at where it says Delica on the handle Where it should Say Spyderco Delica 4 around the Spyder emblem. If they match your chances are probably 98% that it will sway just fine.

    why are you trying to disassemble on a table pad that has mechanical drawings on it? It is like trying to see a live ant sitting on a picture of a nest of ants. Gees!

    Mr. Zel, Sir, apparently this time around, you weren't "prepared" enough to disassemble this weapon. Nor, did you "completely" disassemble this knife.
    I understand your shortcomings of this presentation. Lock-blade bar knives are difficult to break-down, and reassemble.
    FAILURE on this video!

      You missed the first installment... This was all about getting the lock bar in without killing myself...
