If Bob Dylan ever told me “your version of my song is better than my version”, I suspect it would take a shuttle mission to bring me back down to earth.

God, I love every minute of every interview with him. Warner is a cat I'd love to hang with and talk guitars and music for hours. Thanks, Otis!

1993 was the first time that I met Billy. In fact I escorted him through the Dallas Guitar show after hours so that he could shop in private. Brian Setzer showed up too. My friend who owned the show at that time had known Billy for years. He introduced me to Billy telling me to never trust a man with a beard. Billy retorted this ain’t no beard it’s a GD doormat. True story.

Another home run! Both informative and entertaining. I really dig Warner’s enthusiasm over pretty much anything and anyone. Never a bad word about anyone, although I’m sure he could dish on a lot of people but won’t. A first class fellow that focuses on the positives like we all should.

Finally, I hear something about the Super Suckers! Joe Buck of Hank Williams III, seen them all at Alex’s bar in Long Beach, California! Saying he was too punk, for these guys reminds me of the disconnect in music, and but probably most you guys wouldn’t understand being classic rock sounding people in the comments. And speaking of Nashville Dwight Yoakam, who came to California actually got Buck Owens to come out a retirement because there’s a whole other sound called the Bakersfield sound and Buck Owens is from that scene and because of his TV show back in the day he’s the most influential country western person ever!

One of the boys from ZZ Top used to visit with Dwight back when I cleaned the pool in the Hollywood Hills 1990s. Didn’t meet any of ZZ Top but there was a candy painted purple 1930s coupe with a skull in the grill had to be one of theirs cars ! Not giving up any details of anybody Dwight since moved on to God knows where classic person, totally treated the pool man just like a record of executive.😉
