Look Inside of SPAWN 9. The First Appearance of Neil Gaiman's Controversial Angela.

Lauren continues her read through of the SPAWN comic book series with issue 9. This issue is written by Neil Gaiman, of SANDMAN fame, and introduces the Angela character. The rights of Angela were disputed for years between Todd McFarlane and Gaiman before the property was awarded to Gaiman (Angela is now owned by Marvel). Lauren gives a complete overview of the story and artwork.

That's a funny story, max. Lol. Todd McFarlane is one of those creators that's so well known that he almost represents the medium itself (Stan Lee and Alan Moore are two other examples). I'm also a big fan of Image. I love the 90s superhero stuff but I also really enjoy the current titles at Image.

Thanks for watching and commenting, Matthew! I actually think the 97 SPAWN film is under rated. It's a lot of fun. With that being said, I do prefer a more horror take on Spawn. There's actually a new Spawn movie in the works. Blumhouse Productions announced they're planning a new feature film (with Jamie Foxx set to star as Spawn).
