- Exploring a beautiful mansion on the east coast. A lot of retro finds like an old N64 box and tompson computer. Place was a little looted but all in all awesome. I hope you enjoy this video just as much as I loved making it.

Please tell the history of these homes as you are walking through... it would be a benefit to your viewers and increase your numbers as well!! The STORY is the HISTORY...
I second this
It was the residence of Louis Traxler, a Jewish merchant in Dayton. His wife sold the house in 1929. The new owners lived there for several years, and then it was subdivided into apartments in the 1940s. In 1977, it was renovated back toward its original condition by a Dayton attorney. In the early 1990s, it was acquired a pair of filthy douche bags named William & Doris Moore, who were too poor to maintain it, despite bilking their flock at the "Santa Clara Apostolic Temple" for every cent they can wrench out of people's purses. The Moores have subsequently lost the house, and it's been vandalized.
I hate seeing such destruction in what must have been a lovely house.
DEAREST URBEX AND CHILL , IT'S TRULY SAD ! ALL THESE , COULD BE SOLD AND MONEY DONATED TO ALL SORTS OF " CHARITIES " WORLDWIDE . IT JUST BREAKS MY HEART .
@Debra Blake The current owner simply doesn't care. He has been offered well above the as-is value but refuses to sell.
This old world is so odd. We are here for such a little while and when we go it's like we never mattered. Our belongings sit there in silence, just rotting away. I always like to imagine the sounds and daily life of the families in these homes. So very sad. Thanks for the explore. 💓
Very well said Cindy. You're so right. It's like our time is getting shorter and time will expire in our lives also. We forget our past aqauintenses and may have neglected to visit relatives over the years. There might be a relative or sibling we stopped talking to years ago and we don't even know if they are alive or dead. It's just so sad how time takes over and one day you are sitting with you wife or husband watching TV together and then next morning, one of them never wakes up and that's the end. Months later the other has a heart attack and could not get to the phone. He or she dies and so do all the memories. The only things left are what is in the house and eventually nature will reclaim the structure and everything inside. Nothing is permanent. Everything will deteriorate and people will perish.
Its just sad this beautiful old home
Oh! but life is eternal, that which we see will perish, that which we do not see that is eternal. Jesus Christ is the only way. He is the only truth. Your life really does matter and it always will. God bless Xxx
Thank God it ends. If you're unfortunate like myself to have a shitty life, you'd be happy the end comes too.
@@Adam-qv2bd sorry to hear you are so sad. Look for the good each day. I'm sure you are blessed in ways that you don't see.
It gives me the chills to witness a home of this magnitude still filled with everything in it. It makes you wonder what really happened.
If I were a billionaire I would restore old homes like this just for the love of the old architecture.
Cecily Erker me too honestly
Same. It hurts to see this!
I agree with u
Agree
Same here there to beautiful i would just fix it up n try to sell it
Here's some history. It is called 'The Traxler Mansion' and is located in the historic Dayton View area of Dayton, Ohio. Two of the previous owners were friends of mine. Attorney Jerry Callahan purchased the home in the late 1970's. It had been made into 24 apartments. The Callahan's returned it to a single family home. In the mid 1980's my customer (who soon became one of my closest friends) purchased the home and actually restored it to its original grandeur. The doctor spent over thirty thousand tuck-pointing the brick and over fifty thousand replacing the mechanical systems. The new kitchen was well over thirty thousand dollars. I believe it was in the early 1990's the doctor sold it to the current owner for about $200K (over a 50% loss). The doctor has since retired and moved out of the country. The current owner was offered $200K about one year ago but refused. Some other tidbits - The stairway banister was supposedly carved by the same craftsman that did the stair banisters of The Titanic en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Staircase_of_the_Titanic
Thank your for the information. I wondered what happened to the original owner. Any idea why all the stuff was left behind?
Sounds like BS,that mansion is worth at least a few million even in poor condition.
@@dpking3243 A few million? Umm, not in Dayton, Ohio.
Thank you for sharing that information. However, I’m struggling to believe the current owner paid only $200k for it in the early 90’s. My mother sold our home in 1987 for $190k and paid $240k for the house we moved into soon after, when I was 10. She still lives there today, and the home was recently appraised at $450k. It’s a simple 2 bath, 4br, 8 room home in Lynn, Ma, where a quick google search will tell you that Lynn is a dump. The home we now own is valued at almost $800k, a $227k increase over the $587 paid in 2016. There is no possible way that home is worth less than 4-6mil. No. Way. In. Hell. What’s the address? I want to look it up
I did a moving job in the early 2000’s this mansion was still beautiful smh I can’t believe this mansion looks like this. Janet Coats she had a vision center on Salem avenue.
who is here from tik tok lol 😜😂
✌️
Is this on TikTok?
🙋🏽♀️
me btw the pfp is not me so

Got to be 100k worth of stuff in there cant believe someone hasn't cleared it out
It would nice if you focus and pan each room you enter SLOWLY!! That way we can see the architecture as well as antiques you mention but blow past! Extremely frustrating as a viewer !!! This should be at least a half hour 45 minutes or even an hour long video given the size of the place and loaded to boot!😣
I agree I had to go back and pause when he thought was a bathroom but was a bedroom..totally didn't even go in the room. S.l.o.w.e.r next time please:)
Somebody tore that house up over the years. That piano still work it's nice. I would of took some of my stuff.
Definitely a grand old home. Agree top of the line architecture, the fireplaces and woodwork awesome. Such a shame ransacked and left to rot. Happens to so many of these stately older homes. Illness, death, lack of money, upkeep, falling on hard times, list is endless. Thanks for the tour, wasn't easy navigating that squalor, that's for sure.
Bmp Boo6 no
Seeing that N64 console box just lying around makes me think this place had been abandoned not so terribly long ago. But then again, the current state of decay that the house is in is giving me a reality check. Time goes by _real fast_ and sometimes it's just hard to accept :(
My church bought property that had two houses sitting on it. They were in terrible condition, completely unable to be saved, and packed full (literally up to the ceiling in some rooms) of garbage that had been ruined from water damage, dust, mold, etc. I got paid $12 an hour to shovel out all the junk, bag it, and put it in the dumpster to try to reduce the cost of cleanup from a professional. I ended up making around $800. An optometrist used the house as a store/workshop. I found lots of cool things, including letters from the 1820s that were written back and forth between the owner and a sibling, who lived in a different state. It was a beautiful house, and I was sad to see it go, but it was too far gone.
The 80 year old man who owns this house to this day use to own a church in Dayton. I forget his name but his name is still on the deed. I drive pass this house alot and always wonder what it looks like in the inside.... Thank you for this.
Is this Ohio??
@@DigitalTherapy843 yes it is
Thank you so much
Thompson computers came out in the 80’s.
Nintendo 64 came out around ‘96.
So it looks like this family of big spenders lost
The ‘Dream’ not to long after?
The house reminds me of a NBA player that lost it all? Easy come easy go. 💰
Such a waste. The home had to be grand at one time.
I cannot believe all that stuff left in the house! There is so much money in there, it is something a reseller would love!
What on earth happened there? Loads of stuff everywhere and it looks like some people have just trashed it - they have no shame. The doctor once was stunning and it doesn’t deserve to be left like that. Fabulous explore 🌹

It would have been so beautiful. What a shame for all the destruction and ransacking. Thank you for showing what you could of it.
What’s the history of this mansion? Who did it belong to? A famous person? A musical artist? A financial investor? Who!
Whitney’s house?
That’s the same vibe I got . I got the impression that a famous musician lived there , African American decent , the many hats boxes for Sunday service . And not just piano but several of them , with tons of record albums . Is sad to see this beautiful place like this.
Yvette 136 agreed! I saw the same. I recognized one of the gospel artist albums that I saw. I’m trying to do my research and see if I can figure out who this beautiful house belonged to

I can only imagine how beautiful this place use to be. Lovely woodwork. The architecture beautifully done. What an amazing place.
A magnificent explore. That house was still amazing. Thanks for sharing.
What i cannot understand is why houses like these worth millions are just left to decay
Karen Wright Well, the cost of a major cleanup, bringing everything back up to code and the cost of the property taxes might be three reasons for not undertaking such a rehab!
@@georgefitter7656 My friend spent almost half a million re-doing this home in the mid 1980's. That person sold it for $200K to the current owner who refuses to sell or do anything with it.
I love, love, love the history of Castles and Mansions. This has to be one of my favorites. Thanks! But, hold up.... did I peep those " Blue Jay's " ( Air Jordans ) up in there? 😂💯🔥. This place is extraordinarily beautiful. Stay safe out there guys! 💯 Peace & Blessings
The retro sofas are gorgeous..
So much stuff. This house must have been fabulous back in the day
Slow down the camera! You’re going way too fast.
I agree, I was thinking that the whole time. I would have loved to get a good look at the upstairs fireplace and the antique furniture, chandeliers and woodwork. Such a magnificent home!
Agreed. I don't mind longer videos if there's stuff to look at and this place had tons of stuff.
Agree. Made me dizzy. I'd watch a longer, SLOWER video. Won't give this a thumbs up due to the high speed panning...
I really hate to see a beautiful old home so destroyed...I can still look through all the destruction I can still see how beautiful this place once was... great explore
It makes me sick to see a beautiful house like gone to sh_t . Very sad !
Gosh I would love this house/ I do love your mix of still photos and footage. Very cool explore!
What a gorgeous house. Oh the stories it could tell!
Amazing....you can see the beauty under all the mess and damage.just amazing
Nice video really enjoy it
Beautiful home. I see it restored in all it's splendor
I know this place, I live about 6 blocks away from this Mansion! The first view, I knew it was the house. I walk by and look at it all the time! I walk around to the back to see the beautiful balcony and garage! Wow.
My god! Thats literally my dream house and it's just sitting there rotting to the ground 😭
I can't get enough of this content ❤️
Awesome place. Great explore.
I just have so many questions, I love these videos
Beautiful house! 🏚️ The ice cream truck sounded like it was in the house!! 😊
I would love to see it all cleaned out what am amazing house
My husband called me a crazy when i showed him i said man i could have fun cleaning this place .lol
"oh look at this bathroom! i mean its gross, it has sh-- all over it but its beautiful" that just made me laugh XD
WOW, WHAT A FABULOUS OLD PLACE!
Wow that's awesome 😍💖💕
Sad that's so trashed
The owners bought the house in the early 1990s after an attorney and a doctor put $300,000 in the property making it a showplace. After they purchased the home it was used as a designer's show house. They moved out about 10 years ago and will not sale or do any repairs to the property.
So did they get caught up in some kind of divorce, scandal or personal tragedy? Insurance stalemate or something? Roof obviously leaking -- was it storm-damaged or installed incorrectly?
No none of those... they had been ask by many people who wanted buy the property but will not sell for any price. Its just sad there's been no maintenance the gutters and downs were never cleaned, which made all the flat roofs fail. I boards put on the windows as they break them.
So they don't want to do a damn thing to the house, just let it sit and rot ... WTF?!? What the hell is wrong with them? Is there a land bank operating in that area? The place should be seized. That's harboring a nuisance. Grab it before it's too far gone, it's already close!
Thank you for sharing. this mansion
You can tell it was a beautiful home back in the day. To bad someone doesn't come in and restore it.
Confront your fear of basements "Keven" : )
Its amazing that at this day in time you can find a house like this still full of crap. So sad 😭😭 It could be so beautiful
The first was a piano II was an organ the other rooms reminded me of the nightmare of being a landlord many many homes are rented we're left like this just trashed somehow I got through it a lovely home what a shame thank you for this great video
Great video
I do Trashout’s on these homes all the time. It’s therapy for me for what my ex did to me and my daughters. We had to leave everything behind just like this. It’s sad yes but there’s a story to every single house I clean out. I could write a book honestly. I love it!
Can still see traces of beauty thru all that sadness
I cannot understand why people trash beautiful old homes like this one! The lack of respect in our world has been allowed to run rampant in society for too long! There must be a way to stop the destruction of properties like this!
It’s funny I actually drove to this home today looking for homes in the area to invest in. Smaller 3000-6000 sq ft homes 🤦🏾♂️Didn’t realize that it’s was the Traxler mansion and it was abandoned. It’s interesting that it’s affordable to buy. Trash out would equal my Jeep and son. Taxes after reno likely no less than $20k annually. Records (not sure if accurate) show it was purchased less than $150,000 last time sold. Although there are two other mansions equally impressive in that area no one in the Dayton area with that kind of money would live there given the un-developed surrounding area. BUT really impressive structure in person
Lawn looks nice and mowed..
The woodwork in this mansion is so beautiful
Have you been able to look into the history of the property and previous owners?
I like places like these, all of the woodwork. So relaxing.
I never understand how this happens it’s amazing
how sad to see these places falling apart, i would love somewhere like that
to me this is typical of rich people when they have to move on they leave everything a maybe take a few precious things they can carry because they are rich and can buy everything new.
Caught this by accident. Very cool n very creepy at the same time! You'd think there'd be more wildlife in that house if a window or 2 as you showed were open! You did a great job. That must've been a once gorgeous home! Too bad u can't find out its history as a follow up video!
Beautiful home
Love the staircase!
Many of these properties are not abandoned but are a part of an estate trust. They are most likely owned by multiple people from one family.
ENORMOUS Butler's Pantry Leading into the kitchen
Back in the 80's I lived one street over on Cambridge. I was always in awe of this mansion as a kid. It's a shame what happend to this area of Dayton. The last time I was back home I was shocked at home many homes sat empty decaying or being torn down.
Why do looters need to always leave such a mess. Would love to have seen this place prior to the mess. :O Thanks for sharing you exploration!
It would have broken my heart to leave that place if it were mine.
Brilliant footage! The object is impressive... It is with equipment, it is not small... Very interesting. I look forward to more such videos and also invite us to the YT channel. 👍 😁
I knew a girl that lived there in the late 1960's. I think her name was Connie Jewell. I believe her mom took care of the mansion!
Watched another UA-camr in this house the other day and your video shows so much more detail that I felt was left out of the other so thanks!

Id love to see the shoes, hats and other personal items up close, in order to get an idea which era this was lived in. Just the fact there were so many hats is interesting. what could have possibly happened for someone to up and leave such a beautiful home and so many personal items.
Perfect intro music
LOVED this house!! Did you ever get any info. on it? Where on the east coast is it?
How could they do this to something this beautiful?. I've seen this home a hundred times on the outside.. I'm heartbroken.
Once I’m a tad bit older I want to form a team that explores places like these and cleans them up for free and try to restore the house as much as possible so it looks like it’s original state
I have so many questions - who owns the property now? Why haven’t they cleaned out the contents? Who did you get permission from to film on the property? Why don’t they hire someone like 1800GOTJUNK, or let the public come clear out the house?
You don't get permission when you urbex.
1. It's abandoned so either it's owned by no one (unlikely) the government or a private owner.
2. Not cleaning the contents could have number of reasons: no place to store them, no actual need for them or they could be owned by a bank for example.
3. Many abandoned sites can be open to the public so no permission needed.
But if the property is owned you get permission from the owner if the country's/state's law requires it. However urban exploring is a hobby which is done for the risks so 99% of the time, nobody asks for permission.
Technically illegal, just like going on the property but no one in reality is gonna sue you.
4. The house is a safety hazard so clearing it out without renovating the entire thing is not a good idea and renovating the entire place is most likely too expensive.
they run away because of ghosts
@@user-cm4op2kz3y It is owned by a private individual who does not live in it. He allows the taxes to go unpaid until a tax foreclosure is announced. Then he pays the minimum amount possible to keep it. He's been doing that since about 1999. Numerous people have offered him well above what he paid for it (when it was in pristine condition) and he refuses to sell.
There is a lot of crap in that house.
Absolutely
Just imagine when this house was full of life...
Looks like it would of been such a beautiful home without so much stuff sad everything went to waste
Imagine being so stinking rich that you can just walk away from million dollar mansions
Or so stinking poor that you can't pay your property taxes, fix your roof, or get your heater working again (which is what happened to this house).
Grandma must have worn those beautiful hats to church!
So sad to see such a beautiful house left as a dumping ground. 😢😢😢
So sad that it was burnt down.
It is so sad to see these beautiful homes just ransacked like this. Who ever did this should be assumed of themselves. The history of who ever once lived or worked in the location just trashed like it didnt matter. At least those of uou how go in to these abandoned locations try to document the beauty of the architecture and sometimes the lives of those who once lived in the location. Thank you for documenting these locations before they are gone so that the history is preserved.

Someone has to be paying the taxes on these places. Why do they just let it sit there and rot?
I agree! It's probably like Taylor Swift she has mansions sitting and they are sitting around rotting because they are not big enough! Every since I seen that, I just don't care for her anymore! So wasteful!! Just saying 🙄🙄😳😳😬😣🤑🤮🤮

Does anyone know what song is being played in the beginning of this video?
Great video, well done. Whose sweet RV is that in the driveway? The house looks to have been built 1900 - 1910. My guess is that its most recent owner is a church or other ministry. Note the large rolls of toilet paper used in 2 roll commercial dispensers. I can't imagine any family having that much clothing, shoes, etc. Rather, those items were donations meant to be sold like a goodwill store. And I would bet the house is not located in the nicest part of town.
All that stuff everywhere so you can hardly walk is a shame - all the clothes somebody should collect the clothes and give them to homeless shelters or just to the homeless - this house is such a waste if there is anything salvageable somebody should make use of it
Me encantan sus videos, esta es una mansión hermosa, por favor hagan otra visita para que hagan un recorrido mas detallado de su arquitectura, que la cámara recorra cada rincón de esta bella casa........
First order of business, remove the roof and replace it.Have it tented and fumigated for everything.Remove a window in every room.Place industrial dumpster under all windows and throw everything out then go from there
They should at least have some company come in and do a tear down, that is, take all the trim, doors, railing etc..., and reuse it somewhere else if its beyond repair. The fireplaces look good as well as some of those windows.
It is in a historic neighborhood. It would be VERY difficult to demolish it.
This place is gorgeous. I wish I had the money to buy it and restore it to its former glory.
