You are very admirable Charo not just for your obvious accomplishments but as a person who braved the life that you embarked on and now, proceeding to greater heights without being limited by your stature and the persona attributed to you by the public. More power Charo!

What impresses me most about Charo is her originality - I cannot say she is a typical clone of the usual mold of woman-power. We are aware of what she has become (she has shattered the glass ceiling), yet she makes a 'surprise vulnerability' by the questions she asks you. Like for example, in one of her trips to LA then, she was my passenger and I realized I needed to get gas. "Ah, I like this, sige. I want to see this up close," she reacted.
"Huh, which one?" I asked. "When you put gas," she added. My reaction was one of amusement. I thought she was going to ask about the list of books she wanted to buy. So she sat there observing and then said, "can I put gas the next time? Ganun pala." Di ba? That's Charo. Big or small, far or near, she asks questions. There is always a willingness to learn. Anything, everything.

“I’ve loved well and lived fully” . . . would that every woman could say that! Charo is so blessed. And the even more wonderful thing about her is that she is a blessing to others.
