This is a delicious looking stew peas! One of my favorite dishes in the world! I have cook stew peas quite a few times with pigtails alone and it tasted just as delicious with other meat in it. It was a pleasure watching!

A well cooked stew peas and rice has always been my favorite dish.
I have cooked it several times with just pigtails.I haven't tried it with chicken feet, and i doubt i will .Those tails are beautiful. Enjoy

Yes Val, I always use only pigtails. My observation is that when I soak my red peas with the chlorinated water, the color is lighter. So I now boil the peas for about 5 minutes, turn off the heat, then soak it in that water. It is my opinion that I get a deeper color when I do it that way. I don't know if the chlorine bleaches out the color or what

Oh my goodness you clean your meats just like me. I don’t buy stew peas or oxtail in any Jamaican restaurants because they don’t trim the excess fat. That is exactly how my pig tails look when I clean it. It might be time consuming but the end result is much better. I could close my eyes and eat your food. You are so clean. Blessings on you!

Some coconut milk would help to thicken it and add flavour but corn starch or corn flour works as well.This looks delicious.

I find alot of Jamaicans no longer cooks with real things like coconut anymore...it's all power or milk...the real authentic coconut make dishes taste very very nice. But everyone is so shorthand. smh
