Forgot to mention an adjustable npas valve can help a bit, recommend Federal Concepts, RA Tech, Orga, or potentially Angry Gun’s light bolt with their built in NPAS, though some have issues with their nozzle, others don’t, ymmv
I've owned several Federal Concepts NPAS, but they've all broken within 500 shots. The seller is a great guy and sent me several replacements free of charge, but those broke as well
@@Nh90crxsi if you aren't in dire need of changing FPS and are willing to test things out, I still reccomend you try the federal concepts. He has the best customer support
do you open the npas more or close it when the weather is cold? on one end you are keeping joules constant on the other you are increasing cooldown. at what temp you reccomend the lightweight bolt? Mine has trouble cycling on 5oC with red gas with plastic buffer with red gas
interesting about the magazine choice, would have thought the cold would have a bigger impact on the metal mags vs pmags When it comes to running red or black gas is it better to run lighter weight internals or would that put too much stress on them? Was thinking bav tac zet plate and their nozzle return spring, red gas, original buffer/spring...wonder what else
If running higher pressure gas in winter it shouldn’t add too much stress, since the pressures will actually be lower due to the cold anyway. I think those parts sound like a solid option without needing to buy a light weight bolt. Bavtac zet plate is a nice upgrade to have in general anyway. Best you can do is test and see tho
Brilliant video! ive just picked up an akm but can't do any testing right now in the cold. what gas were you using on the cold day with the ak? and have u modified the mags at all?
I only use propane, which does have a bit higher pressure than green gas. No mods to the magazine, it does have a high flow rocket valve (forget who makes it, it’s purple), an increased recoil spring, an upgraded hop nub and that’s it I believe
@@Wolfman_NV oh cool, Ive got the bav nub yet to install and the bav power down valves for in the summer, what power u getting with the high flow valve in the winter?
Hey Noodlehedd I been having some problems with my mtr16 mws stock hop up. The hop up arm would get stuck at max hop while the (hop up arm adjuster) would be set for no hop. The only way I would be able to reset it is if I push the arm up with something manually. I’ve tried centering the hop up a bunch of time to no success. Can someone help me out please. Parts that I’m using: -Laylax outer barrel base -stock marui inner barrel - stock hop up/ hop up arm - T8 70 degree purple bucking - Guns modify CNC hop up adjuster - PTS Centurion Arms CMR Rail

Just ordered the Federal Concepts Valve as I’m in New England and will be playing mostly outside this winter
