Pt. 15 BMW E30 325i CV Joint & CV Axle Restoration

In this video we restore the axles in a mission to get this car back on its wheels. Stripped and cleaned everything, rebuilt the CV joints, packed fresh grease and installed new rubber boots. Enjoy :)

Thank you for your video. I was about to destroy my good used axle thinking I needed to remove the outer joint. Was about to force off that inner ring where you pack the outer boot. Watched literally every video about bmw boots on youtube and only yours was an exact match. Was seconds away from destroying a piece you couldnt replace!

are the cv axles the same across all e30? i bought a replacement one and it came an inch short. and i was wondering if they possibly gave me one for the wrong car. everything was the same just too short

To my knowledge the 4 cylinder engined cars had smaller diameter axle shafts than the 6 cylinder cars, but length wise they should be the same. Is your setup original? Do you have a link to the part you bought?

Help me understand why refresh it all when a new complete Axle is about $40. Boots alone are 20.

Hi, thanks for watching 👍 well couple reasons, content, I like to restore old rusty crusty things, here in Europe for example skf axles are way more than $40 🙂 if it works, it works 👋✌️
