    This stuff is gold. So glad it is not 30min. I have been doing this for a while now. When I first heard 30 min. I started to reevaluate my whole life.

    I've had a L5 back pain for 20 years and doing this passive hanging is the one thing that seems to actually be helping me. When I first did it, it hurt so badly I could only do 10 seconds or so, but now I'm up to a full minute. I do as often as I can during the day. Amazing. It's just like spinal decompression therapy but cheaper and easier.

      Great, but this is active hang in the video. Passive hang is relaxed body.

    I found this Dr searching around for rotator cuff pinching or whatever. I’m a woman of 62. I bought over door hanger and those hook wrist bands. Within a week hanging 2 min a day, I had relief. I’ve been doing it since. A friend has a tear, she refused sx, I told her about it. She did same and she is much much better. It’s wonderful

I use to curve my back, so I had pain from time to time. Thank you so much ! You saved me a lot of back pain when I grow old !

    Do your legs need to be strait and off the ground? Example, if I was “hanging” from a dip bar and my legs were not strait.

  • @jasonwelsh417

    Isn't the passive hang (dead hang stretch) where the studied benefits come from?

    • @jakemccoy
      @jakemccoy Рік тому

      Yes, most people teach simple dead hang. The flexing turns the dead hang into something else, still beneficial, just something else.

  • @KITKATHERO
    @KITKATHERO 6 років тому

    When you say to "keep your abs engaged" aren't you talking about your hip flexors engaging in order to straighten your back? It just seemed conflicting with what sal usually says

    • @biggerthanryback9082
      @biggerthanryback9082 6 років тому +1

      KITKATHERO he means to use your abdominals (upper abdominals specifically) to draw your ribcage down and keep it engaged throughout, so your body is forced to create range through the upper back rather than just letting the low back extend. Hang from a bar and see, you'll notice that as soon as you pull that ribcage down, your upper back, teres, shoulders and pecs all start to feel a big stretch.

    U used the wrong grip. If u grip it on ur palm instead of the bottom of ur fingers u can get worse calluses and they can tear (painful asf)
