Fun fact: for the past month or so, Drammen station has been closed for reconstruction, so the trains to Bergen have been diverted… via a faster/shorter route
Thanks for the update! I remember when I rode there, I wasn't diverted, or I guess. Reconstruction is a good thing, but hopefully, it won't take too long. The original route is beautiful, and it's worth experiencing its full length!
Thank you! I highly recommend it. I did the trip both ways, day and night, and had a great experience. I would recommend doing the night journey from Oslo and the day journey from Bergen. You'll love it!
I have done the rail trip to Bergen from Oslo twice and both times doing it as a day time journey as the scenery is stunning. The first time we went the rain caught us by surprise and we had to buy an umbrella. I called it the "Bergen Brolly".
Thanks for sharing your experience! I also did the day time trip on the way back from Bergen to Oslo and I agree-the scenery is stunning. This journey is definitely in my top 3 in Europe, along with the Bernina Express. Love the "Bergen brolly" story!
@johncrwarner You're right, Bergen is known for its rainy weather! It definitely lives up to its reputation as the rain capital of Europe. It rained when we were there too.
You're right, Oslo is a fantastic city, but it can be pricey for visitors. The currency exchange rate does make things more expensive compared to the euro. However, the train travel experience is definitely worth it! Thanks for the compliment!
This line will be the first one to get the new Stadler FLIRT sleeper/long distance trains, From 2026 I believe. The current trains are simply too old and are starting to fall apart. Parliament also recently decided to run a sleeper train route to Copenhagen, but probably not before 2030. And those plans could collapse too.
Thanks for the update! It's exciting to hear about the new Stadler FLIRT sleeper trains coming in 2026. The possibility of a sleeper train to Copenhagen sounds great too-let's hope it goes through! I’m really looking forward to seeing more sleeper train routes in Europe.

Great video! That train is on my bucket list - one way during the day and the other at night!

Oslo is such a great city, but sadly also expensive as for a lot of countries in the north. But great train travel there

Hi, great video. When you said in the video "I can use it" in the coffee machine, is it because the coffee is free? Thanks
I really needed that coffee after a long night on the sleeper train. It works wonders, even though it's not free. Thank you for the compliment!
really??? You put the Danish flag in the start...
Thank you for clarifying - I found it. I'll add a correction in the description. My mistake 🙏
