He's been using the same jokes for nearly 30 years... and the best part is they're (for the most part) the types of jokes that don't rely on the politics or social issues of the time, meaning they can be just as relateable in 2017 as they were in 1991.

klekster12 why? Because his jokes arent vulgar perversions screamed into a mic? He’s a real comedian who doesn’t have to rely on sex, cursing, or making fun of someone to be funny and that’s real talent
@@dookeland8 , I’ve seen him live three times and he never disappointed. I remember the first time I went. I was anxious knowing I had listened to his material for years and if I would even laugh let alone like the show. He did over an hour of new material and my face hurt from smiling and laughing the entire time. He plays so well to his audience these days, really paying attention to the crowd. When he came out for his encore he explained why he always tries to use new material as most fans could recite his jokes verbatim. He went on to tell the story of a a guy that would look at him and say, “You’re telling it wrong!” and of course it got a big laugh. Anyway, he was taking requests for jokes that someone may have come to hear and didn’t and someone in the crowd yelled out, “Say 8!”. He went on to tell the joke and the entire audience was so quiet as they listened to Brian say every word as it was on the CD. It was fantastic and he received a standing ovation. But off stage he's not exactly a pure as the driven snow .... but I agree, it's difficult to be funny and not go blue. Groucho Marx commented about this some time ago.
I am good watching him to do these bits early in his career, because he polished them, and perfected the 'pause' like no other comedian ever, not even Chappelle can do the pause like Brian Regan. If you watch I Walked On The Moon (it doesn't matter if you have seen his bits before - it is so funny, i can watch it 20 times and still laugh). Gary Larson (The Far Side) must have seen this when it aired. on 3/25/1992 he published a comic with the caption: "Donning his new canine decoder, Professor Schwartzman becomes the first human being on Earth to hear what dogs are actually saying". Not the same jokes, but the same style. Big difference. Watch how your words come out, otherwise it might look like you said something incorrect(ly).

It doesn't seem so far away to me. I was 14 in the year he did this stand up. Feels like just the blink of an eye and I'm 43.
