I love y’all’s channel!! Found it a couple of week’s ago and subscribed after the first video and I’ve been watching y’all every sense!! I love y’all‘s content! I’ve always loved the stories of the Hatfields and McCoys! And all the other stuff y’all tell about the place about the Appalachia life. I love it. Please don’t change your.content it is great!!!
Thank you for sharing a wonderful piece of history. This is beautiful country. In the early 1980s I worked with a man named Steve Hatfield. His family were decedents.
You pronounced the name of the river correctly. There is a group of people in the Charleston area that clean up rivers. There was a article in the magazine, "Wild, Wonderful West Virginia" that told the story of how they cleaned up Coal River. Loved this video as it is very historic. These historic sites are overlooked in our history books. Thank you for taking the time to research and share WV history.
I have been watching you for the past 2 or 3 weeks andd have really enjoyed your stories and trips to the graves. I live in Northern Michigan. Thank you and may God keep a watch over you.
Another great video I remember watching a early day movie about the Hatfields and McCoys when I was a kid . I am 62 now. Like so many some of my ancestors lived in Appalachia.
For 62 you look like you might be in your 40s and the reason I say that, because if you look at the last few generations people in their 40s / to 60s even some of the people today of that age look to be in their 70s or older and it blows my mind... if you watch some of the old TV shows buddy ebsen was 54 when playing jed clampett ganny was around 60 on petticoat junction Sam, Mr. Haney and Doris ziffel all were in their 50s uncle Joe was in his late 50s and they all looked so much older except Mr. Ziffel he was in his 70s but he look to be in his 80s. But hey good for you looking younger than you are.
Amen, sister! They are disgusting people, anymore! I appreciate you doing this! It's awful how people treat people, hopefully people will change before it's too late. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
I just found your channel and love it!!! I have a small channel where I tell old folklore stories handed down by my kin. Mostly scary stuff but I am glad to have found you all..Thanks.
Hi from The UK, just subscribed, love the history travels with you seeing the places where these people lived, worked and died, looking forward to the next episode.
I saw you all yesterday at Double Quick in Belfry. I started to come talk to you and tell you how much I loved your channel, but I didn’t wanna bother you. Keep up the great work!!
I love your videos. Keep doing what you’re doing!👍🏼 I hope you drive every winding road and stop at every ice cream shop you can find!🤭 There is always at least one that no one can make happy! The bigger your channel gets, the more complainers you’ll get, too!🙄 I hope you have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving 🙏❤️🦃
That banana split looked Great! I have not had a good banana split in a very long time. I enjoyed watching this video, it is sad, I think, that some towns disappear over time. So it probably would have taken the reverend about a week to ride from his home to Devil Anse's home, if it takes you about two hours to drive it. Like you, I have seen cemeteries in worse shape than that one. It is somewhat cool, that there is a tree growing out of the Reverend's grave. Thank you very much for another interesting video, have a happy Thanksgiving!
Hey Lady Question how can it be that much colder up there in WV then it is here in Alabama You two are doing a super job opening the EYES of this Da-- Yankee. YES I moved here mean years ago and neve when back North Making a Da-- yankee LOLO hoping you under stand. My Wife of 54 years is from NORTHERN Alabama Thank you great job
My dads family is from Maine, I understand. but why its colder here than Alabama? I don't know lol. Its starting to warm up again though. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for the support!
@@thehillbillyfiles As A new body in your room. We shall be talking some over time. My Mother Father and Mother Came from the south way back. before ww1. And they have WILD STROY about their Family from way back. I may ask you some about one or two of them if it ok? Grandpop sail his family had some Hatfield in him ( I don't see how that can happy, his from the other side of the Iss. River
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful history. Really enjoyed several of your videos working on the rest of them. Thanks for your hard work and dedication. You can tell that you all really enjoy doing this that makes it a pleasure to watch the videos.
Leo! You are a HOOT!😂 "What do you want to do tonight? I think you know what I want to do!"😂 But you are so right! I'm doing research on a family name now and one of the men married twice having produced 22 children with only 1 dying in infancy! His first wife produced 11 children before dying decades before her husband. Gee, I wonder what killed her? She couldn't have possibly been worn the hell out!😂😂 Thanks for the laugh today, Leo!!😊
Well do you think that the steel would have been around his homestead here I mean you'd only makes common sense that they would have it close to the house maybe that mountain behind the homestead here. If you get a chance and opportunity comes up could you research the the moonshine still find out maybe where it was located at but again I was really hooked on this a while back and I still am and again thanks again for all you do
Pretty little cemetery very peaceful except for the barking dog. I'm glad that the dog kept his distance no chance of you getting bit. That would not be fun
Ppl today don't have the love of God in them anymore & aren't concerned w/the salvation of their own souls much less have a burden on their hearts for the lost sinners anymore. It's preached in the Bible about this era in time. It's says that in the last days the love of many shall wax cold. That's what time we are in. We are in the final last days before Christ's return. Now whether that happens in the next few weeks, months, years or the next 50yrs that is not for us to know. All we are to know is the season of the times we are in & know that it's only a matter of time before the rest of the end-time prophecies are fulfilled & ppl need to get right w/God before its too late. That's the end of my "sermon".
Church of God and Church of Christ are not the same. I go to a Church of God church. I cant say what the difference is. Isn’t that weird that towns disappear? Could you imagine naming your child Devil? Holy cow! I wonder if Sally loved being his wife as much? My grandparents were married over 50 years. My Grandmother said she would never live her life over. I always felt sad for her. They were Catholic, she had 10 kids during the depression and he was a drunk as a young man
And that probably is the river or stream for a devil anse took that boy was going to kill him they was on horse so they probably didn't ride too far away and back then years ago these Rivers and Creeks beds had more water flowing than they do nowadays so back then that little stream was probably a good little stream of water flowing down through there

Not fair to stop for ice cream and leave us in the car.
That made me laugh, thanks
I have heard that this cemetery is haunted.
I wouldn't doubt it
A St Bernard won't hurt anyone.
How exactly did this guy save Devil Anse?U didn't explain that in the video
Biblically. He baptized Devil Anse. I mentioned it at the Garrett fork sign
