These videos make me even happier with my Sport2. The included rear sight was actually what sealed the deal over some other makes, including a Colt!

I searched all you tube videos and couldn't find anything that had anything bad to say about this rifle. I like mine so much I'm thinking about buying 1 more.

I've been spending a lot of time watching Sport II reviews, since I bought mine, a month ago. This is my first AR, and I am so happy I keep seeing review after review, each one giving really good grades to this rifle. I've taken it to the range, only twice, since I picked it up. The first time, I shot...seated, with a block under it, for steadiness. Now, it's an indoor range, so, distance isn't an option, really. 75ft is the max distance. So, accuracy really wasn't a problem. I spent a few minutes sighting it up, using the Crimson Trace Red/Green Dot. Then went to town. Grouping was REALLY tight.
The second trip to the same range, I shot...standing up. I'm not the most steady hand, in the world, but, I was really impressed with the accuracy, considering this was the first time, since I was a child, shooting my dad's 22 pump action, that I have shot a long gun. At the same 75ft, I was well within 3 to 4 inches of the center of each circle, and grouping was within 3 inches, as well.
I still have work to do, on my accuracy, and will probably try different ammo, next time. I used Federal 55 grain, the last 2 times. Switching to American Eagle 55 grain, for next trip. Then will change to some of these that you're suggesting, when I take it out to an outdoor range, for some 100-200 yard plinking.
Thanks for the review. It really makes me feel good about my purchase!

Just got mine yesterday. I was amazed at the trigger. I had an extra Colt LE6920 trigger that I polished up to drop in this S&W but I'm going to stone the S&W trigger instead and use it. Great review.

My M&P 15 Sport II, 1:9 twist. I added a Rock River 2 Stage Trigger and a Vortex 3x12x56 Hog Hunter Scope with V-Brite lighted dot recticle and Bipod. I have tried many differant brands of ammo. the Fiocchi 50gn V-max has proven to be the most consistantly accurate ammo for me, 1/2 to 3/4 moa at 100 yrds indoor range. a few other brands will get around 1-1.5 moa, but most the average cheap brands will be in the 2-5 moa. Seems that shooting those brands is a total waste of money. I don't just look for a bullet to go bang - i expect it to hit where i'm aiming. and the Fiocchi 50gn V-max is reasonably priced at around 40 cents a round. The M&P 15 Sport II model #10202 is also reasonably priced. it has some features i really like, 1:9 twist, No M4 grenade launcher cut out, trigger opening big enough for gloves, good factory trigger and comes with a rear sight that a lot of guns don't com'e with.

i have one of the original sports (w/o the 5r rifling). it really likes the 55grain reman from freedom. And to my surprise i shot a 1" group consistenly with speer gold dot 64 grain. i have yet to try heavier loads but for now these loads are more than adequate. thank you for video.

Love mine. First real AR-15 and it came with 3 loaded 30 round mags,2 pmags and 1 authentic metal mag. Got them all loaded already with green tips, black polymer tips, and some hollow points! I got a good deal on this one! 500 flat and even get to do it in payments. It also has the OD green magpul furniture equipped with a grip on the hand guard as well as a bright green laser, red dot,and a flashlight! Can’t beat it! I also had already been training with the AR platform on our ruger 10/22 with the archangel 556 conversion kit. Surprisingly the AR-22 feels slightly heavier then the actual AR-15. I also got a Taurus g2c 9mm last month from rural king gun barn that I may soon be working at! 🙏🏼🤞🏼 I haven’t even got to shoot it yet or site it in lol the wife isn’t as happy as I am when I get a new gun. These deals just won’t stop falling into my lap

My best groups have been with PMC .223 55gr, then PMC X-Tac 5.56 55gr. (what I'm zeroed with), 62 gr green tips, then .55gr Frontier 5.56.
Think I'll be sticking with PMC X-Tac for a while
I know they've been out a while but thanks so much for these videos. They're very helpful!

I was very impressed with the accuracy of this rifle straight from the factory. I feel like this is my new favorite gun to shoot because after I was done shooting it I went to shoot some of my pistols and it just wasn’t the same 😆. In fairness to the rest of my guns this was my first time shooting the S&W M&P Sport 2 Rifle so.... 😂

I love mine, but it’s kinda picky with the ammo, don’t like 53 grain vmax, it prefers 62 grain tula hp. I never tried 69 grain federal premium but i think thats what I’m gonna go with.

For the average citizen this rifle with a few accessories is far more than they will ever need as far as an all purpose SD rifle. I love mine it's my go to for A knock arounder and plinking.

My 1st ar was a bush master M4. I had to sale it because me and my wife needed the money we was having a hard time paying bills. I paid $1200 for it about 11 yrs ago. And regretted it every sense. When I was wanting another ar I was and still on a budget I bought a sport 2 for around $500. I put 100s of rounds through it and only had one jam.
It was a 556 green tip that hit top of bolt and kept it from clambering. But I don't believe it was the weapon because any ar 15 could do that or any other semi auto gun

First off...It's not "three by nine" or "four by twelve"...I have never understood why people do that?It is printed for example: 3-9X40That is "three TO nine by 40"The back objective is the magnification range being three to nine times.

He actually makes quite a few mistakes in terminology. Calling Armornite and Melonite a coating is one. But many people make that mistake because they don't really understand what it is. However, his vids are some of the best I've seen. Covering everything from specs and options, to accuracy with different loads and weights. I found the accuracy test with a range of bullet weights very useful.

    • @jimmya2860

Armornite is not incorrect. It is specific to Smith and Wesson.

Never complaining about the 1/4" sub moa group mine gave me with 55 grain FMJ with a Nikon P.223 BDC scope. Dead on the bullseye at 100 yards with 1/4" spread. Amazing precision from a $620 carbine.
