The allure of Bobs videos was 50% his soothing voice and another 20 %his hair..sooo.. even though his son seems friendly, the voice just isn’t there

I’ve noticed that Nic talks about Bob as if he’s still here, if only sometimes. While Bob may not physically be with us, his brilliance, spirit, and legacy surely are. It’s a sentimental touch on a man gone too soon, and it warms my heart 🤍

Basically these people pulled a long con on Bob for his entire career and stole his estate from him while he was on his deathbed when they knew his wish was for his brother and son to take on his legacy. They made millions off exploiting his image and his family never received any profits.

All these years watching the Bob Ross episodes I was wondering what happened to his son and why he didn't continue his father's work. Today Netflix answered that question in the most disheartening way. I don't know how I can keep following this 'official' channel now.

Not that I have anything against this dude he is fantastic. But whatever happened to Bob Ross son that used to paint. He just fell off the face of the earth. Bob passed away in 1995 and we never heard anything out of his son again

I support Bob Ross and Nick! He is a wonderful teacher and I'm sure Bob is smiling down from heaven knowing his legacy is continuing with Nick. His personality and demeanor are so similar to Bob's that you feel he is still with us. I have learned so much from Nick and will continue to support him.
I'll just say this: If everything Steve said on the documentary is true, BRI should be boycotted. Bob Ross was one of the best human beings in our life time. And if what Steve says is true, turning Bob's legacy into only caring about profit is the WORST way to honor Bob's legacy. It's not right. IT'S NOT RIGHT!!

nteresting how the documentary has caused people to come back to this channel, which promotes it in the algorithm, which fuels BRI more, but also makes people in the comments section find out about the documentary. I didn't know why I was getting more Bob Ross recommends recently or that there was a documentary. The internet is a strange place
Bob Ross painting will always be a thing everyone loves, but knowing what the Kowalski‘s did has me very conflicted, I hope they get what’s coming to them (if you watched the Netflix documentary you know what I’m talking about)

@@lthead Eh yeah, and let's totally forget the part where Steve didnt actually talk to his Dad for 2 years because he didnt want to paint anymore and do his own thing. No the Kowalski's are in their full right, they continued the company and have the actual rights to it. Steve already lost a few lawsuits against the Bob Ross Inc. So its completely bullshit to cancel a company with the current owner and employees having nothing to do with what happend back then.
What’s even sadder is that they might sue Netflix for it anyways as it might be considered definition.
Money wise they probably won’t because they know they can’t beat Netflix, Netflix is a billion dollar company, I’m pretty sure Bob Ross Inc. has millions of dollars but definitely not enough to go up against Netflix
Really appreciate how we're given a full hour now, and that Nick doesn't have to try to cram the whole thing into a half hour like Bob did. It's ideal to watch it come together gradually. I wish Bob had been given more time per painting.
Bobs paintings were just as complex but he was a better painter so he could do it quicker.
I don't think Bob would know what to do with that much time. If you watch his Grandeur of Summer tutorial video, he slows down to explain each thing... but by the end he's going 100mph like usual. He couldn't help it, lol

Please!!! Everyone : WATCH the Netflix documentary about Bob Ross and all the problems after his death (even when he was sick!!) you will see with a very different eye the new videos! Just the real videos with Bob are the real essence about the Joy of Painting.
I just finished it... and my heart is broken; I can't look at anything Bob Ross the same anymore... sadly, this Nic guy probably doesn't even know anything about it all. Because it is gods honest truth, specially the part where the company could actually respond to these accusations!!! Oh wait, they couldnt. And oh wait, that makes the docu biased AF. Steve ditched his father in the later part of the series, and Bob himself was on good terms with the Kowalski's for most of the TJOP series. And because the company did great afterwards, maybe on a somewhat opportunistic manner, Steve is now slapping himself he didnt jump on the bandwagon.
Please read their statement and keep that in mind. Specially the part on which the current employees have nothing to do with the way the company was back then

This is honestly the best day of my life, Bob Ross has been an inspiration for years and he really a great person. He gave me a spark of inspiration to create art and to always be kind to others.

When he started painting those blue clouds at around 13:00, I had that "younger me watching Bob Ross" moment where I thought, "Why the hell are you messing the painting up?!"
Then he started blending, and I was like, "Ahhh.. I remember this.." 🤣
Nic really does an amazing job, he really does make you feel all warm and happy inside, not totally different to how Bob did it but not completely the same, like a Nic warm and fuzzy. I hope he doesn't feel pressure to be Bob Ross or compare himself to him, he's doing just fine. He's doing Nic.

How fortunate that right when I was on the cusp of purchasing some Bob Ross Inc. paints and brushes I saw the Netflix documentary exposing the truth about how the Kowalski's treated Steve Ross. What a disgrace BRI is, exploiting Bob's legacy. I'll never purchase a licensed Bob Ross product and I'll be unsubscribing from this channel. I sincerely hope many thousands of other Bob fans do the same and find a way to financially and morally support Steve.

Yes...and all the minions need to stop supporting this guy Nic. Nick should be ashamed of himself...he knew before they offered him the position that Steve just came back and was starting to do workshops...
That's when Annette came up with this idea to have Nic on the show..believe me I know few artists who work with Steve when he started planning on doing workshops...
Nic has been painting the Ross method for 20 yrs or more and still can't paint a mountain nor foliage like the Ross method. Prior to him coming on the show he struggled with workshops...and his UA-cam channel which never grew that too he had for more than 15 yrs.
He's being used as a puppet by Annette..
However, he should have some common sense and respect ...
He only is making himself as a fool and greedy...and very disrespectful towards Steve Ross..
Hoping my illusions of Bob Ross won't be shattered with this new Netflix documentary on his life..
